Sorry, I prefer to hear the melody of the song I'm listening to, not some made up guitar boogie thru the chord progression. Listen to a fiddler play this tune and you'll hear the melody. These guys - well - they're all showoff and no talent.
@JoeHillJoeHill I thought I heard Brent Sing the melody. He's singing every note of the last chorus of his solo. This is what people call a jam... Sing the melody, improvise a guitar boogy'n solo, then sing the melody again, thats the style of this music, along with a lot of notes when you solo. If you dont like guitar jams, cool. its all good. But, saying these guys have no talent is garbage. You just havent developed a palate to understand or even taste this style of talent. Is what it is.
@JoeHillJoeHill for Earl Klugh, and Brent Mason (cant speak for the other two guitarist), go listen to them play a ballad... im sure your opinion will change.
@JoeHillJoeHill guys like you are not musicians!!!!!!!!!! please go listen to something a little simpler!!!!!!!!!!! your brain might be able to digest what you are hearing!!!!!!!! oh by the way warsh my dick you fag!!!!!!!!!!Bring it!!!!!!!!lets dance boy!!!!!!!!!!
Yeah well Earl Klugh (the acoustic player) had already performed about three hours earlier on his own, and it was kind of a last minute "hey want to play with us?" kind of thing. Not that he didn't play well, just that it wasn't planned for.
This version was always my favorite way Jerry Reed played this song. I Love the traditional way also but the Funky Doublestop approach that he laid down on this version is the best!!! Brent Mason nails it to the Wall!!! Nothing greater than getting to hear Brent Mason & Jerry Reed. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You for posting this (SON!!!!)
The harmonica player, Buddy Greene, is a harp legend among harmonica players. Not even mentioned in the notes here.
