I belive the sword that conrtolled Chaka was possessed by the stand (?) Anubis. One day Polnareff found the sword and couriously looked at it, and with a touch....BOOM...the same sword now took over him. That's till Jojo ko'd him....

Actually Polnareff defeated Chaka and on his way to take the sword in to the police he stopped to the barber. Told the barber to hold it for a sec, then bam. Khan was posessed. After kicking his ass, the police came and tried to take the sword from Polnareff and they accidently unsheathed it and Pol became posessed.
