  • How can ANYONE NOT acknowledge the old comic books? Being part of a hardcore fan is knowing the gawd damn history of what your a fan of. DUH! Besides, the comics have printing dates, they are obviously before (and during) ANY cartoon that came out.

  • I Don't Mind TMNT III And Ninja Turtles the Next Mutation and For u Fans who wanna know why TMNT 1987 was Cancelled, it was Because (I won't say any Insults) CBS Wanted Educational Crap on their Kids Programming. They were out of their minds

  • Why didn't you mention that it was supposed to be parody comics. like elektra and the punisher. elektra fights the hand and the turtles fight the foot. and Casey jones is basicly the punisher if he couldn't afford all the expensive guns. and it isn't a coinsidence that his mask looks like the punisher's skull!

  • I love how you explain it in the form of a story

  • I like the 90's show better because the new ones say "What the shell?" too much. it gets really annoying really fast. Then it decided to do the fast forward bit which was lame and really felt out of place. Not to mention the shredder was too over the top in it.

  • I grew up with the classic cartoon, I love both cartoons. That is all.

  • there were a movie called TMNT gay hahahahahahahahHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

  • Im sure every hardcore fans knew that tmnt started as a comic.

  • I grew up with the 80's Turtles, but as I matured, I fell in love with the Mirage Comics and then fell in love again with the 2003 series. I believe they all have their place. However, I matured as a turtle fan and perfer the comic and 2003 series over the 80's cartoon, even though the 80's cartoon will alway's hold a special place in my heart, because if it wasn't for the 80's series, I would have never evolved as a TMNT fan and to the point would have never became a TMNT fan to begin with.

  • I'd like to point out two errors: First; as far as I know the classic show wasn't cancelled; it completed its run and had a finale in which Splinter said "I have nothing left to teach you," as you point out later. Second; since The Next Mutation was live-action, so the 2003 series isn't ANOTHER new cartoon; it's the FIRST new cartoon.

  • @Fawful5 Just because the show had an "ending" doesn't mean it wasn't canceled. I'm sure it would've ran longer if the popularity wasn't dying out at the time. Most show creators are informed that they're being canceled a season early so they can wrap things up.

  • Guess what? Today, December 5 is NATIONAL NINJA DAY! and guess how I'm celebrating. Watching TMNT movies, key 2003 episodes like SAINW, and Turtles Forever. Kinda hard when we have two computers and three people need them.

  • I grew up with the old one, and I love the second one. I'm with you man!

  • All of them are good! But I do ignore the Next Mutation series.

  • I'm a fan of them both but the thing that blew up in the newer one was that they kept killing shredder and bringing him back, they should of left him dead the 1st time, not come back as a robot and then as an alien that ended up being a race that was toward krangs race

  • After hearing about the 2K3 series I gave it a watch and loved it. I was a teenager back then and it's when I care about story and characters a lot more.

  • kevin nash was in the 2nd tmnt movie

  • strange... the donatello figure at 1:05

the grin and the bandana is definitely from the 80s raphael actionfigure!

  • I like both shows and I grew up on the 80's cartoon show, the only difference I hate is the origin stories. I like the idea that Yoshi becomes Splinter. The comics (normally I stick up for any comic) but in this case I don't. A rat in a cage learn's the art of ninjutsu! REALLY! It makes better since that Yoshi turns into a rat and Oroku Saki believes that he killed Yoshi for 15 years until the turtles are ready to fight Shredder. The 1st 80's episode is really dark and a much better story line.

  • My sister thinks I'm crazy 'cause I LOVE Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. She says it'll rot my brain.

I've seen all of the 2k3 series and most of the '87 show. They're both great but the newer one is my absolute favorite!

  • I remember watching the old cartoon series and loved it as a kid. After hearing about the 2K3 series when I was a teenager (and when I started to watch shows that have complex stories, character development, dark tones etc) I was hooked for the entire series and love it & that's when I learned it's close to the source material.

  • You know, I'm tired of people fighting about which show is better. The shows had completely different tones and were meant for different audiences. It's like comparing the 1960s Batman to Batman TAS. Neither of them is bad for what they are, they're just different. I like the 2003 series, but I'm not gonna go around dissing the old show. Usually it comes down to which version you grew up with because that's usually the version you'll prefer.

  • I grew up with the old show and loved it. However, a while back, I watched a few episodes and couldn't believe how poorly it had aged. I have never been a fan of the newer show but it isn't bad. I don't know, nowadays, I think I prefer the newer, more mature show. The 80s show will always have a place in my heart but as I am older, I need something more than constant pizza jokes.

  • I grew up with the newer series so I like it a little better but I like the first one because it is funny

  • Grew up with 1987 turtles. Prefer 2003. Closer to the Mirage comics that I adore. I love all of the series, but 03 is amazing to me and has a lot more character than just jokes, one-liners, odd pizza toppings and clumsy villains meant for a laugh. Seriously. They're both good, but one is good for comedic purposes and younger kids while the other is meant to be a better representation of the Mirage Comics.

  • I watched every tv series and movie of the teenage mutant ninja turtles and never knew of the comics until TMNT forever is mirage going to release the comics like marvel and dc do in big paper comics that have past comics?

  • I actually learned of TMNT through the 2003 version. Got curios of other TMNT creations and watched the 80's TMNT.... I personally love both as well XD

  • I like them both a grew up with the old and watched the new and knew of the comics from my mother. Also as the TMNT are cute and kicking butt I'm happy. Splinter is my fav. character.

  • yes! sooooo agree there should be a battle i love both so im curious who would win

  • The 03 rocked when me and my sister watched every Saturday.

  • I grew up on the old 90's cartoon and I love it. But I still prefer the '03 series because it's more mature and just had a better and more solid continuity. hell, I can even tolerate that mediocre spin-off of the '03 cartoon, TMNT Fast Forward, which I believe was made just so they can go back to the kid-friendly silliness old-school fans always say the miss form the original cartoon

  • 2:09 mexican turtle "amigo" XD

  • the 1988 and 2003 tmnt generation were both good. however both of them started to suck and get stupider as the seasons progress so it like the first few seasons were good and then the later or the last seasons just equal shit. also the shredder in the 80's is just too clumsy, while on the otherhand the 2003 shredder is badass. so as far as the villains go. badass shredder beats clumsy shredder anyday.

  • I have seen both series and have enjoyed them both

the 80s was a classic and has reminders of my childhood

the 2003 is darker and more engaging for older viewers with its action and story

the ONLY thing i don't like about the new one is that THEY DON'T GIVE THE GUYS PUPILS! Just the whites to be seen through the ninja masks is just creepy!

  • @Jgaldragon Hello

  • @Jgaldragon no that's just their masks they have them under them.

  • why do people hate the 3rd tmnt live action film? just because of their costumes???? they prolly thought the 2nd tmnt creatures werent too cute and kid friendly or because jim henson's creature shop refused to do the creatures for the third film. Probably the 2nd reason

  • The 2K3 Turtles will always be the best for me. I pretty much grew up with that series than the 1987 cartoon. Asides from Nostalgia, the classic series has nothing on the 2K3 series.

I always felt that the 87 Turtles were a bit too goofy and it was only about the comedy. Were the Original Turtles from the Mirage comics like that? No they werent. The 2K3 Turtles are closer to the Mirage counterparts and they were badass and edgy other than being cute and jokey like the 87 Turtles...

  • the mirage comics are the best

  • The reason why I couldn't like the 2003 ninja turtles is because to me, what they did to the turtles is like chinese action figures and I'll quote from Mark Hamill "Good God, they put me on steroids!" I preferred Archie's Comics over what the original characters have done, they just created good character designs and from that point on it took advantage. I mean look at Rafael in 2003, he's definitely on steroids cause nobody is that aggressive! prolly in trouble for domestic violence everday :)

  • i love them both equally, i grew up obsessing over the new one, and as a bit more mature person, i was drawn into the new one with a more intense focus and less predictability, keeping me on the edge of my seat more often, though not making me laugh quite as much, though i overall prefer most characters' 2003 versions better

  • when i was a bit older, the new series came out, obviously i was shocked at the serious tone, but fell in love with this one too. it's better written, deeper, the turtles themselves have more individual personalities, etc.

  • i grew up in the mid-late 90's, with the reruns of all the classic episodes, and obsessing over them, recording the episodes on tv on vhses which were like toilet paper in my house as i flew through them, and also owning all the later episodes on vhs, cuz really, im not waiting that long to satisfy my fix. to be continued... :p

  • Just a question, what the hell kind of classic Turtles fans do you hang out with. How can anyone deny that the the comics came first, that's like trying to say that the Batman comics from before the Adam West show don't exist or hell that's like trying to claim that WWII never happened. I love the classic series and will always defend it but I never deny the comic's existence, without there would be no cartoon. Seriously who could say that with a strait face.

  • The 80's show had a lot of cool looking characters, and the 03' show had better story and character development. I like them both.

  • I'm more of a 03 fan myself. I think they are both awesome! and Turtles Forever is a great Crossover

  • This is a pretty cool analysis... I'd like to see a version for The Transformers vs. Transformers Animated.

  • Also if you think about it, if the comic book didn't evolve into a cartoon, the 2003 turtles wouldn't exist either

  • MATTE Was that raph or mikey saying yomoma

  • 00:38 this part is so funny

  • Next Mutation was awful. X(

  • @NodDisciple1 Take that back bro! xD

  • @YearOfTheBandicoot Uh, no. XS

  • I like both old and new TMNT cartoon

  • The most Ironic thing to me is that the reason I'm a Turtle's fan is Konami's arcade games. I've watch some episode of both series and think they have their pros and cons but the license videogame is what made me a fan.

  • I grew up with the old cartoon but the new one is definitely superior.

  • Sorry to disagree, but i grew up with the classic series, liked it very much till i saw the live movies.....in my opinion the 2003 tmnt kick the classic tmnt's shells!

  • I grew up with the 80s series, but I do actually like both the 80s and the 2k3 series.

But which do I like better? Honestly, while the 2k3 series was very satisfying with how similar it was to the original comics (big fan of the comics here), I still to this day enjoy the 80s series much more. It's timeless and has alot of replay value.

The 2k3 series is not timeless, nor does it have much replay value. I've seen the whole series, and I'm done with it. But the 80s one I'll watch anytime. :)

  • Comment removed

  • just wonderin which tmnt episodes do you own

  • 80s/90s will always be best.

  • @TwistedSister09,

how many hammers hit u on the head

2k3 is oviously better. better graphics, story and above all...

    competent!

  • @DinobotCommando Well 12 people and others have agreed with me.

  • only 13

    weak!

  • @DinobotCommando And who agreed with you? Exactly.

  • oh i dont know... how about everyone who was born b4 the yr 2000

  • @DinobotCommando BOTH ARE GOOD SEE THE 1987 CARTOON

  • @halofan224, thats the prob.... I DID

  • @TwistedSister09 Sorry to break it for you, but it doesn't even come close in terms of quality to 2k3 version. And I grew up with 80s/90s version.

  • @TwistedSister09 to each their own, i didn't apperciate the comediac atomosphere that the 80s show did whereas the 2003 series stayed true to its roots and it was the perfect blend of dark action and comedy plus it stayed very true to the source material not to mention eastman and laird were behind it 100 percent wheras the 80s show it was just general input

  • at 2:33 it said gay why?

  • @keloid123

    I just noticed that now!

What the hell is the deal with that? Sure, the third movie was awful, but why say it's "homosexual"? This video did NOT need gay-bashing.

  • @RyonaRaine I don't think that the meaning of the world "gay" in context was "homosexual". I suppose it was more like "terrible, awful, bad". Yes, these are slang meanings for the word.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar

You obviously don't get it. Saying that something is "gay" as in "terrible" IS gay bashing. How do you not see that?

It is SO obvious that whoever came up with the insulting use of the word "gay", that person was a homophobe who fully intended to put down homosexuals by basicly saying "You're a stupid freak and I hate you. Go kill yourself" all rolled up in the "that's so gay" term.

How oblivious can you people be? Can we please stop the spread of hate?

  • @RyonaRaine Y'know, word "gay" had other meanings, before it got its modern "homosexual" meaning.

And by the way, check out, say, urbandictionary. There are 3 common meanings: the old one (happy, funny), the modern one (homosexual) and the slang one (generic insult).

And you know what spreads hate more than other things? People who want to keep everything PC.

  • @ResurrectedTemplar

    Nice attitude...

The same kind of ignorance towards minorities that existed a hundred years ago to Chinese and African Americans still exists today towards a new minority... LGBT people.

Since when did making things politically correct become so taboo? It helps people be civil and sensitive to eachother. Why does everyone have to be such insensitive dicks?

And the "urbandictionary" is a joke. I doubt we'll be seeing books of it in schools anytime soon.

  • @RyonaRaine Save it. I'm not american so my mind is untarnished by "keep everything PC" mindset. Americans spread their toleration bullcrap because they were very racist and homophobic in the past, and now they are trying to make up for it. Lame. I maybe don't like homos very much (but then again, I don't really hate them, I just can't understand them), but at least neither I, nor my ancestors, killed them for being gay.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Gay instead of TMNT 3 = Win.

  • I thought at least people who had gaming magazines in the 80's where aware that the Turtles originated in (darker tone) comic books that where partly a parody of other comic franchises. As a kid I loved those cartoons even though I knew they where made by the Toy + Cartoon formula.

The new series I didn't like that much mostly because besides me being older, the animation (like all current USA animation) was crappier and the turtles themselves behaved more like teenagers.... er... wait... doh!

  • HOW DID YOU FEEL ABOUT TURTLES FOREVER

  • yo, the 2003 series is way better than the original one, in my opinion. :)

  • As long as it isn't campy and cheesy, I like most incarnations of TMNT. If there's any version I seriously hate, it was the one where they were a rock music band.

  • I'm a fan of both of these versions. Their great shows but for different reasons.

(Spoiler for anyone who hasn't watched Turtles Forever.) I like that you establish that the cartoon wouldn't have existed without the Mirage comic. Dun dun dun!

  • Who care's witch one is best!!! THERE ALL AWSOME. TURTLES ARE GOD!!! And that coming from a kid who has been a fan for 2 years!

  • I grow up with both cartoons and i love them both on their own way, but I didn't know that TMNT 2003 is like original comic book, so now i respect them more ! :)

  • Anyone remember the Next Mutation crossover in Power Rangers?

I know many TMNT and PR fans really wish they didn't... myself included. I'm a fan of both...

  • @MarkC18 Yes and it was awful

  • Cool video. Loved the first part. Gonna watch the rest of them.

"La la la la! I can't hear you!" LOL! So true! I grew up with the old show, but I like the newer series better. I enjoyed both the shows, and Turtles forever was awesome.

  • I've seen the 80's cartoon, TMNT: The Next Mutation, all 3 movies & the new cartoon from 2003. Even TMNT: Fast Forward. I had to watch Back to the Sewers here on Youtube because I didn't have the station that it was on. I liked all of them, they all have their own moments.

  • I like both series.

  • I was fucking addicted to TMNT in the 90s. I had TWO TMNT-themed birthday parties and carried a TMNT backpack to school everyday. I had more TMNT action figures than I had Barbies (Yes, I'm a woman) and never missed an episode on TV.

Having said all that ... the 80s cartoon was kinda lame. For some reason I remembered it as being more kick ass that it actually was and ended up being disappointed when I rewatched a few old episodes online.

So, yeah, I now much prefer the 2003 series ^_^'

  • please do classic transformers vs new transformers

  • I agree. I love both cartoons. I grew up with the classic show, love the new show then finally got around to the comics. 2:33 Ninja Turtles GAY! Hilarious!

  • 2:33 Ninja Turtles GAY! Hilarious!

  • I'll have to admit. I didn't quite catch all of the episodes of the original, or even the new one for that matter. But from what I have seen, then older version does seem to be a bit more cheesey, though I wouldn't exactly call it unwatchable. It did have it's moments, like when those space cadets came in on flying cars. The idea just seemed a little too far fetched, but the characters were memorable.

  • There was a darker comic?

Hm...I'll have to look into that.

  • I've seen the new series. Like it better because it was more mature and surprisingly disturbing at times.

  • to be honest i never new the turtles till the live action movie

  • at 3:31 is that poster ghidorah from godzilla???

  • Nobody says the Mirage comic doesn't exist. Everybody just wishes it didn't. That shit SUUUUCCCCCKKKKSSSS.

  • @DiscoBryan:

It sucks? MY ASS IT DID. I read it, and I love it so much. It takes a turn from the ones we know.

  • @DiscoBryan you should die now. the mirage comics were emensley good and some of the best comic book plotlines ever. you would NEVER make anything nearly that good or creative. and if those brilliant comics never exsisted then im sorry to say but you wouldnt have the old or new cartoons.

  • @DiscoBryan Wow, dude, you need to die.

  • It's not true that Peter and Kevin had little to do with the old cartoon Kevin had said himself that they want over ever script making changes.

  • @DanTHEMANK The changes were along the lines of...

Mirage: We don't like that you've made Man Ray a villian.

Fred Wolf: Okay we'll just change the character and just call him "ray"

Mirage: But that's exactly the same.

    Fred Wolf: It's our cartoon.

It's not like they went through each script with a fine tooth comb making a lot of changes. The chimed in on rare occasions whenever they thought something was REALLY wrong like Mona Lisa being a turtle and even then Wolf would have final say.

  • Way tha go man! :D Great idea and yes, I am a big Nostalgia Critic fan so when I saw this I thought very quietly "ripoff ripoff ripoff", but I really have to give you credit for mentioning Doug and all of that said this has really a touch of your own style and I loved it - spoken by a Turtle Fan :D GREAT VID!

  • @AlexCrystal13 Are you a fan of both TMNT cartoons? Just askin'.

  • @stevenskywalker1993 Well, I was actually a big fan of the old series, and when the new series came I didn't really like it. What I am though, is a huge fan of the movies, so when I saw this and saw that the new series are more in touch with the new series, I actually started to like them. :3 So you can say I am a fan of both now.

  • Personally, I saw both of the cartoon series and like for most of the shows, my favorite is the darker one (in this case, it's the 2003 one). It's just weird that for most of the shows, the older version is darker but in TMNT case, the newest one is darker... Look for exemple at Batman or X-Men, the old series are way more dark...

  • u forgot to mention that here in the uk they were the hero turtles

  • id you have to say from youre heart wich one i would watch. wich one would u take? without comparing and such?

  • I actually agree with you, they're both great shows, it just depends on what type of show you're in the mood for. I'm not really fond of the modern series, just because it's not my type of show, but I can acknowledge it as being a good show for what it is, I wish more superheroes could get shows more true to their comics like it. However I tend to favour good old light hearted cartoons, the classic Turtles, Animaniacs, Freakazoid, and the like.

  • i like everything some games sucks

  • Lol I feel like such a dork for liking both series xD I think they're both good in different ways- the old was very funny, but the 2k3 were the ones I discovered and how I got in to the show, and I like the splash of humor mixed in with the darker tone.

Ps... Was the one with the female turtle that bad?? I never saw it but I've never really seen positive things said about it...

  • Plus ( I ran outta spae in the last comment ) Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation isn't as bad is you think, it's actually pretty hilarious and both serious. Ok, it didn't had Shredder ( except the firstfew ep's) and the Foot, but it had the Rank and it's Dragon Lord, a crazy (insane in the membrane) hunter Bonsteal or as they called him Bonehead, for a few ep's even vampires. But I think it was cool that there was a 5th turtle, resembline the girl power. The even had a crossover with the PRIS.

  • Ya know, I was reading comments about both TMNT's and I don't understand why is there this Turtle Fan War going on. I am one of the few people who grew up with both, I mean what else could a 5-6 year old girl do at home while babysitting her 1-2 year old sister, then watch TV. It was around year 2000, that year I was wathcing until 2004 1987 TMNT, but in 2004- 2k3 TMNT. I liked them both, maybe I didn't saw all the episodes, still there both cool. My little sis and bro an tell the same thing.

  • You forgot shredder in that first pick of the original toy line. Those are still the best toys. Especially if you can get the rereleased versions with no rubber heads. Bebop and Rocksteady are detailed incredibly well as are the turtles with veins and everything.

  • 3:28-3:44=Best part of the whole video. XD

  • I just watched the Nostalgia jerk's analysis of the Turtles films. You got the idea from that; his take on the first film was pretty aggravating.

  • @Mitsuraga He's an idiot though.

  • @jointron33

    Much agreed. He's annoying.

  • I caught that gay comment on movie number three. Not like anyone would disagree.

  • I never watched the old cartoon. My older brother tried to shove it down my throat and I rejected it heavily. Instead, I stuck with the '03 series

  • Thanks for making this. It's obvious that you spent a lot of time and love into it. Does anyone know if Turtles Forever is going to be released on dvd?

  • i lol'd at "go suck a lemon"

  • where did they get the blue red oringe and purpl masks

  • I was into the comic before the cartoon and you forgot to mention the Red Sun series of the Turtles on CBS

  • when is the new tv movie coming out

  • at 3:39 when you ask can't we all just get along? I like the old to the new tmnt. I don't care what others think. I like all of them.

  • I also like the old and the new one also.

  • Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation was funny. I like it.

  • 2:34 The TMNT 3 movie was not gay. It was good.

  • 2:34 "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles Gay?"

  • if youre a true tmnt you'll love the old and new tmnt no matter what

  • But the ONLY thing I like about the 80's series is the theme song, the turtles themselves, and there love for pizza.

  • the classic rules

  • I grew up with the old cartoon. I can't watch it now. It's unwatchable.

The new one is awesome. Its written extremely well. Its a joy to behold.

  • I just got done reading the Eastmond and Laird TMNT Comic book, it was awesome!

  • Classic TMNT is the best moer Mutant s and more guys

    GO the old TMNT

  • lol great vid I agree with u with most of the decisions u make to see what tmnt was better I've only watched every episode in the 2k3 tmnt still hafta see old version..

  • New TMNT is better when your ask me

  • Original >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> This new shit

  • Haha, no. If you're referring to the 80's cartoon, I mean. I was a big fan of the original cartoon, but going back in more recent years I realize just how bad it could be a lot of the time.

The 2003 cartoon, however, was quite awesome. Until the Fast Forward nonsense struck, and the show became more about the merchandise than the story... just like what once happened to the 80's cartoon.

  • why is it that people don't like fast forward. It's ninja turtles isn't it? it gives the turtles a whole new look. I still don't know Why people think it's dumb but for me it is great and awesome.

  • @AsuranKnight I know old fans should watch that old show and see how bad it was most of the time.

  • I realized... we've had a new TMNT cartoon, along with a new Transformers cartoon and a new Spider-Man cartoon. There are so many shows from my childhood getting revamped, improving where the mistakes were... but as good as they are, there are some franchises that NEED a new show done right, and should be made right freaking now.

    *cough*The Legend of Zelda*cough*

  • what the heck a monkey xD

  • I would love to hear your take on 'Ninja turtles the next mutation'.

  • Well there is one thing you didn't know about the Next Mutation version of the Turtles they also did 2 crossover with the Power Rangers from Power Rangers in Space which would make this version part of the Power Rangers universe rather than part of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe. Other wise I like the original cartoon, the live action movies and some ways newer series. They even used one of the comic book covers for the first TMNT NES game too.

  • i dont go by either the 2k3 seiries or the 80s seiries even though they were both awesome i go by the original comic book and the comic book alone even though i thought shredder needed to apeear more often.

  • Interesting points of views, I did notice some of things pushing your own thoughts in on what is better and what isn't.. mainly with TMNT 3 & The Next Mutation, believe it or not, both of which has their own fan bases too. ;)

Any how I'm a fan of all things TMNT, I agree with ya that both sides should get along and thankfully know a handful of fans who like both as well. Though I have met the fans ya talk about, that think one is better than the other. Never agreed with that.

    Peace

  • where do you get your cartoon footage from? and your comic scans?

  • you r right comic did start it but 80s tmnt is the reason y there big 2day

  • but the comic's are the reason's are why they exist.

  • existing is one thing but finding something that will launch you to worldwide fame is another. So in a way TMNT owes itself to the comics and the 80s cartoon. I mean come on which lasted longer, the 80s cartoon or the 2003 series. The 80s cartoon lasted 10 seasons under one show. The 2003 show while lasting 6 seasons had 2-3 different titles from 2003-2009.

  • Ok but the 80s cartoon was a praody which is why the creator's refuse to enjopy it only for mocking.3 was lasted 7 seasons it was planned for an extra 5 seasons but when 4kids and cw merged they forgot to renew them ever since then ratings for the channel's saturday mourning block have gone down.

  • @MrHoppers002 well the comics are still going

  • really?

  • TMNT is cowabungariffic! however, the old cartoon was uch better, and funnier. The new one is way to... serious all the time. GO RETRO TMNT!

  • I loved the original and I love the new TMNT. It's like comparing apples and oranges. They are both good, but different.

  • i just got done watching the tmnt forever and by the look of it the comic tmnt is the the best tmnt. they got into the action no jokes no BS. next they made the old tmnt of 1987they was too cartoony and joke around alot and saving apirl like every episodes and thowing things at the bad guys. now the 2003 tmnt was alil serious and less with the jokes.

    overall: comic tmnt wins.

  • The Turtles in the Mirage comics did joke (Michaelangelo, at least) but it was more smart-assed or sarcastic humor a la Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The first movie (and the 2003 series from what I've seen) got that part right to some degree.

  • I like both, HELL I'll say it : I liked all the different generations of the Ninja Turtle series. Anybody that has to be so fickle as to not like something cause its different, needs to grow up. Maybe in another 25 years i'll watch the next generation and like that too. Turtle POWAH!!!

Except the 2 Turtle Anime OVAs and the rock concert series...that was SH!T

  • I really hate the people who loved the cartoon criticize the comic and don't credit to Kevin and Peter... they are NOT true fans of the Ninja Turtles

  • I'm blown away by the quality of this video. In my opinion, there are aspects of both cartoons that i loved, so I enjoy both. Being an adult now, I don't watch these at all anymore, but I remember being really impressed by the art design and fighting scenes of the new cartoon. Since I'm a huge fan of the original cartoon series (and owning 2 or 3 of the comics), I would've preferred to see the personalities and voices of the old cartoons mixed with the new art style they're doing nowadays.

  • i have all the comics in second print and first signed by both artist and have pencil work from Laird. Use to go to all the conventions when i was a kid. Still have them all in mint conditon :D
