  • Thank for exressing our wishes in your clear words. The world must listen. We only want to have a say in running our own lives. Our fore-fathers lived under dictatorships but our children can not continue like slaves anymore. Please hear our voices. We are no different than you. Gracia.

  • this man supported the war in Iraq which killed more than 1 million people, come on, this man is a racist.

Zapatero a tu zapato.

  • @litoperuusa

Calla resentido!

  • THIS COMUNIST NEVER LIKED WHEN THE PERUVIAN ARMED FORCES KILLED HIS MRTA AND SHINING PATH TERRORISTS. HE NEVER LIKED THE RESCUE OF THE HOSTAGES FROM THE JAPANESE EMBASY IN LIMA. To foreighners thinking about dictatorships, might not be obvious, but who in his right mind wants to disolve his country's army while they are battling an armed guerrilla / terror campaign?

  • In other words, "freedom" and "kill the Jews" aren't going to both survive.

  • Mr. Vargas Llosa is correct: freedom is not divisible. Fourteen years ago, Hosni Mubarak decided he would follow the China model of development: liberalize the economy while keeping tight control of the political sphere. The result: Egyptians saw that things could improve, and they wanted more. More economic opportunity, more freedom to choose. The desire for freedom became the seed of the Egyptian "youth" revolution. How long will the China model last?

  • What an inspiration! Economic freedom is no different than cultural and social freedom. Incredible truth in these words.

  • Mario Vargas Llosa organized several meetings in Madrid with his Middle East friends, from Israel, Palestine and beyond, Atlas was also a part of those programs. It was not easy to find common ground but Vargas Llosa's tolerance and respect helped provide a positive tone to those meetings. Thanks Mario!
