@goosemst Actualy that whine has nothing to do with the supercharger. The whine is from the airflow over the 50 cal barrels. That's why some planes do it and some don't. Not all of them still have the barrels.

The last 'new' version of the mustang was built in the early 80's but it was never mass produced as the intended customer didn't want it.

The p-47 shot down a lot more planes in WWII. But both are fine pieces of engineering, especially the laminar flow wing of the P-51, it went 30mph faster than a spitfire with the same engine.

I think so about the great environment, but disagree absolutely about the story (it's something usual in Hollywood):

German soldiers were very very baaad people and exterminating them was a good thing :(

Yes in this film the Germans seem pretty bad (with two exceptions), but Band of Brothers shows them in a slightly better light.

Agreed. Band of Brothers is much better in my opinion. I wish to watch some movie like it from German side.

It would be a great thing, really. German soldiers fought against an implacable (remeber Dresde) and greater number enemy, and under a terrible state terror machine.
