I love Mathew as Sir Harry...he did an amazing job, looks, voice, and personality wise. But personally I did not think that Zooey did a very good job as Lady Larken, her voice and looks were perfect but her dialogue and the way she spoke wasn't sweet and innocent enough. My personal opinion.

Aside from the natural feelings of an expectant mother, abortions were not as safe back then as they are now. There was a very high chance that the woman would not survive the surgery. It has nothing to do with "drama" - Larken is not a teenager; she is an adult who is in love, wants to get married, wants to have children, & is forbidden to do so because of a law. She loves her child & won't kill her.

Abortions, even then, were not as simple as taking herbs. Abortions are a form of surgery. Nowadays, the procedure is common and things generally go smoothly. Back then, however, there was a high fatality risk for the woman. Even if she were to survive, she might NEVER be able to have children, and she wanted to have them eventually ("You and I will be one, two, three, FOUR").

they used abortifacient potion, mercury XP rue, sage, savory, cypress, and hellebore . some herbs are used today also. there are records of pure herbal abortions from jesus' time. and ancient egypt and china. pretty interesting imo
