  • an amazing documentary !

  • It's heart breaking. Thank you for this reporting of the movie. Yet there are so many communists around the world still seek to create an utopia similar to the one found in North Korea, or call this movie a lie without any proof of their own.

  • @newyorkairsoft

I've not heard anyone say the movie is an outright lie. Instead, many are saying it's a propaganda film, a hatchet job, focusing solely on the bad while ignoring all else. As a result, viewers get a very incomplete, inaccurate, perspective of North Korean. For example, food shortages are the result of outside boycotts, not a failure of the system, people, or leadership. Of course, the movie would almost have to be that way before the Voice of America (VOA) promoted it.

  • @stewartx5 I support those who voice against this movie as long as they currently living in NORTH KOREA and show us some PROOF that North Korea is NOT as what's depicted in the film.

  • @stewartx5 "food shortages are the result of outside boycotts"

Koreans can produce their own food for many THOUSANDS of years, even during times of war, until NK came to be. There's no war in NK now, but you blame outside boycott for food shortage? Had you ever worked in a farm? You can produce a lot of food, if the ruler do not come and take it from you.

Communism is a failed, and always been a failed, system. But people who never lived in one can't wait to force everyone else into it.

  • @newyorkairsoft

Every country, including the United States, was once able to produce enough food to feed their own people. However, nearly all of those countries are now dependant on outside sources for much of the food consumed. North Korea is certainly no different.

  • @stewartx5 Countries "depend" on importation because they have freedom and TRUST among each other to sell and buy goods. NK, along with most communist regimes, do not. You commies had half the world after WW2, that half the commie world traded, but how did that work? From Russia to China, with the most resources and FREE labor, suffered the MOST MASSIVE starvation [in China, great leap forward, 20 million died in 3 years] WHILE you had half the world's resources.

  • @stewartx5 Countries "dependent" on importation because they have freedom of trade and basic human rights to do so, just like how human always had until communist came along.

Communist nations had half the world after WW2, and you guys boycotted the west. The west get richer, commies died off slowly. With similar influences and power, ALL of the communist countries failed, and had to change.

  • @newyorkairsoft

Get real. While the west (United States, UK, etc) has militaries spread around the world (invading countries, killing, maintaining occupations, imposing boycotts & blockaids, etc), the communist countries have mostly remained within their immediate neighborhoods. The USA alone has invaded more countries in the last century then ALL the communist nations combined. The west got wealthy as a result of that aggression, while the so-called "communist enemies" suffered as a result.

  • @stewartx5 get real, you communists.

Your beloved mother Russian killed hundred millions in a 100 year of power grab. "Remained" within their border? Then how did the WHOLE of eastern Europe under communist rule, while they were actually independent until Russia came along?

How do you explain the WHOLE of China being in commie rule right after their invasion after WW2? How do you explain Cuban, Cambodia, Ukraine, Mongolia, among many other independent nations, invaded and occupied.

  • @stewartx5 "The USA alone has invaded more countries in the last century then ALL the communist nations combined"

Wow, so now communist countries, combined murdering over 200 million between Russia and China, are now peaceful nations, and USA, is the evil imperialist.

But this goes to show why you guys always fail, because you can't face basic facts and re-adjust your lies..

  • @newyorkairsoft

What is all this "you guys" crap. I'm an American, moron, currently working for the military overseas. In fact, I've worked for the military (in some capacity - active, civilian, advisor, etc) most of my life. My father was in the military as well, with me growing up around the military. However, none of that changes the reality I've described. Regardless, we're getting nowhere, so I'll leave this with what has already been said.

  • @stewartx5 Communists tortured and killed MORE human beings then all dictators and wars combined in the last 200 years. When they took over half the world, stormed down the historical sites and burnt them, tortured "capitalist" land owners and merchants, sent students to the country sides to work and die, and intentionally STARVED millions of their own people to die on the road side as part of their collective land reform.

    You blamed it on "boycott."

You communist are such pieces of work.

  • @stewartx5 The most prosperous of the communist countries, Russia and China, with half he worlds resources and FREE labor, suffered the MOST MASSIVE starvation ever known to man kind. In just 3 short years of collective policies, China's communist regime killed 20 million in starvation. That's just 3 years out of 60 years.

You, while enjoying the freedom in the west, are a mockery of all the people and their family who were tortured, raped, and killed off in forced labor "re-education" camps.

  • Thank you for your work.
