One question I hope someone has the answer... I scanned the bar codes of two controllers I bought on craiglsist for $30 each brand new in the box, and my phone recognized the bar codes... Can they fake barcodes as well?

Tough deal, I had the same thing happen except I knew I bought a fake from my buddy I just wanted the white as well but the guts of the controllers are completely different, the SONY product is quality made and the fake is just crap thrown inside a nice exterior.

I have a question, so a reply would really be nice. I see all these videos about fake controllers. What exactly is wrong with these. I recently bought a yellow one and it works perfectly fine for me. I actually think it works better than my old one I lost that came with the ps3, but it was also breaking. I read that sony said they explode, but I kind of doubt that especially since I haven't read anything about controllers exploding other than that, so what's the big deal haha?

Thats cool if it works well for you. but with my one, the d pad buttons didn't always work, also i took the controller apart and the battery was tiny so it didn't last very long at all (about 2 hours) and some people have problems with getting them to sync with the ps3.the inside of the controller is the real giveaway (because of the cheap parts inside) but if you have a working one then i suppose there is no problem if you dont mind having a fake one.

some glitches in the game play I found out last night I bought three of them from someone local for $25 dollars apiece. O was play a family game and the left analog got stuck in the up position and also the sticker on the back does not have the FCC logo on it all official Sony PS3 products have it

@sladeyy the only problem i think is that if you play fps games like call of duty, battlefield 3, killzone 3, etc. its not nearly as accurate at a real dualshock 3 and that can be very disappointing because everyone else in your game has a accurate controller and its no wonder they can own you in a game. its still works but its just SO ANNOYING when you want to snipe or something.

imo i think that a real controller is definitely worth the 55$.

@sladeyy the thing that is wrong is that the bluetooth connection is NOT GREAT..is very laggy... and when i plugged it up to the Controller charger, it stayed RED, and not green after a full day of charge.. also, the sticker on the back will also show its ungenuiness.

i don't think that the inside of the fake one is the same as the real one, i opened mine up and there were a few spots that didn't look the same, but you can always try :/
