When the song becomes increasingly intense around 2:02, that is when the child screams. Similar to the feeling of being overwhelmed by fear, things around you grow very intense. A child in this situation would scream and run in fear but to no avail. Something about the Dreamworld doesn't make sense, and how did Skorne end up here?

@zarektlek It is because Skorne has invaded the minds of the Warriors and Heroes and is haunting them. It is their final test before they can fight Skorne himself in the desecrated temple, because in order to defeat the greatest of foes, you must defeat the greatest of fears. But always it shall be known that Skorne lives on for he has tainted the immortals.

I always thought that the childrens laughter was like representing skorne and he was laughing as the hero (whoever you choose i choose jackal) is attempting to fight throught he horde of his minions. IF you noticed some of the creatures in this lvl resemble a smaller version of skorne.

The children's sounds in the background up until 2:00 sound like two innocent children who were playing and got lost in the Dream Realm. Unknowingly they went deeper and deeper, laughing and giggling, until someone or some*thing* found them.

I love this music the lady that sings at 2:11 is brillant and her voice really adds both a dreamlike quliaty and makes the music sound saga like as well. People give me funny looks when I sing along to her as I sound strange going "errrrrrrrrrrrr ar arrrrrrrrr" along with her
