  • Wow! Wow! Beautiful work! We had the same view from the balcony of one of our honeymoon hotels (this one being the Chelsea Delta on Gerrard).

  • Goodness, do you live on Homewood Ave.?

  • Why yes, yes I do! I gather you recognize the surrounding buildings?

  • Yep! :)

    28th floor of 40 Homewood.

  • very nice! excellent editing.

  • fantastic video. Do you have other time lapse's of TO?

  • This is the only one I've made so far. I've picked up some awesome equipment recently to make way better time lapses, so there will definitely be more in the future.

  • I would like to see more. Send me a message when you post one. ;-)

  • Cool stuff.

  • Thanks!

  • Hey really cool video, I was just wondering what the name of the song is?

  • Storms Over Africa by Enya. Hence the title of the video.

  • why do you leave a camera on recording the outside? Also is it connected to an AC adapter and how much memory did that take up?

  • Why? For fun! Here's the setup: Canon S70 on a tripod on my balcony, AC adaptor, and a long USB cable going to my MacBook laptop inside. Canon's software lets you set up interval shots. I set manual white balance so it wouldn't change during the shot, and let the camera figure out its own exposure to adapt as the sun set. Once I had a couple of thousand shots, I assembled them together using Final Cut Pro.

  • so where did you get the ac adapter that lets your camera power on infinitely? I have a canon a520 that is on 2 double A batteries and the batteries die fast, and I also have a sony dsc w35 with lithium ion battery

  • Best thing would be to look up the specs for your camera on the manufacturer's website. If you can get an AC adaptor, they will list the model number there.

  • Awesome! I'm here from epi_lj... Love to see the high end versions...

  • also here via epi_lj.

very neat. I wish we had an apartment to shoot time-lapse from. :)

In Waterloo we were hit by quite the violent storm the night before.

  • epi_lj told me about this. Very cool! I could watch it for hours.

  • Glad you like it! I've got other 720p and 1080p HD versions available for friends to download. Send me your e-mail in some way that you won't get spammed and I'll send you links.

  • Thanks - epi_lj already pointed me at the HD versions and I'm downloading one as I type this. ;-)
