i know this sounds stupid but Can u run a guitar straight into this amp? the TRS and TS plug confuses me , do i need an adapter for a TS 2 TRS plug? Also , which should i get , the Crown XLS1500 or the QSC GX3?
@davinicus1727 That's actually a decent question. For the amp I would get the crown xls 1500. It can handle 4 ohms bridged mono and 2 ohms per channel. I don't think you can bridge the GX3 at all and it can't handle a 2 ohm load. You won't be able to run your guitar directly to the amp for several reasons. First the impedances are way different, so you will lose lots of high frequencies. Your guitar has a unbalanced or TS output. The amp has a TRS or balanced input.
@davinicus1727 The biggest thing is the impedances because that will be the biggest thing that affects your sound quality. The balanced and unbalanced connection aren't too critical unless your running cables long distances. So you will need a preamp of some type. This could be a small mixer or a DI box. It would work to use an effects board like the Line6 POD to go to the amp also. So get a preamp for your guitar and get the Crown XLS1500.
im thinking of getting this amp or the gx5 to run two 15" i dont no what the program watts for the speakers r but the peak for each is 1050 watts.... does any 1 have any suggestion ??
can the front knobs of the qsc gx3 control the volume? does it sound clean at low volumes. i want to use it power my tower speakers as a home stereo

@radames305 Program is half of the peak, so the GX5 would be great!
