the 1996 Kentucky Wildcats are the best team in college basketball history. Yes they lost their conference championship game. However, they beat every team they played that year. Only two losses, both of which were avenged. That's not bad. 1984 Georgetown wasn't bad either.

Where was 1990 unlv? They won a title, 1991 unlv didnt. that should count for something. Also, 1996 UK is ranked WAY too low. I'd put 1990 unlv #1 and 1996 UK #2. 1992 Dook needed a miracle just to get past an average uk team. In no way are they #1.

Great video... and i do respect you opinion... but i want to argue a couple of things... first of all... the 94 razorbacks were great... but i really dont think they should be on this list... Same with the 96 wildcats... they were great... but they did not win thier conference title... and im really not sure about the 2008 jayhawks... i can see why you would put them on this list... but 2008 was not a strong year for the ncaa... but other than that great video...

Well 2008 was a year where all four number one seeds reached the Final Four, but I guess talent wise it can't compare with previous years.

They almost hired Pitino in 2001. Had that happened, UNLV might've been a Final Four contender. I don't think Pitino can convince prospects to play on his team like he could at Kentucky, but he's fielded some kick-ass teams at Louisville. The problem there is a lack of consistency.

I think it was Calipari that was at Memphis. Pitino is at Louisville and I think took them over UNLV. But UNLV would've made a couple of Final Four runs and been a perennial Sweet 16 threat had Pitino come there.

However, one of the Florida teams has to be on there. They were repeat champs and they were such a money team. They were great down low, quickness up top, sharp shooters, athleticism and most of all they were SMART. It was a rare mix of all of that which makes them in my mind a top 5 if not top 3 team.

I forgot about them or couldn't distinguish them between '08 Kansas and '95 UCLA as well as '84 Georgetown. Don't get me wrong, we watched a shitload of great teams arise during the 2000s. Florida's 2006-07 teams are among the greats. But it was hard fitting them in. If anything, they are on par with most of the teams after 2001 Duke.

Buddy, you nailed this on the head for the most part. Good work. Glad to see you put the 2005 UNC team and not the 2009 team, considering the 2005 was much stronger in my opinion. Same goes for putting the 1996 Kentucky team instead of the 1998 one. Great work. And by the way, the Duke 1992 team and UNLV 1991 team were both leaps and bounds better than the 1996 Kentucky team.

I wish like fuck that Kentucky fans would even consider your last sentence. But they won't considering they think their basketball team is bigger than Jesus. Those Duke and UNLV teams seemingly had it all and did what Kentucky couldn't do in 1996--win their conference tournament. Duke dominated the ACC which featured five other strong teams while UNLV played a bunch of strong non-conference teams and didn't let anybody touch them. Too bad their downfall came in the NCAA tournament.

gahhh. i do respect your opinion by all means! with that being said, 96 kentucky lost 2 games. one too umass, who was the number 1 team in the nation. then too miss. st. like you said about duke every team has there off days. we still won the national titles. that team had 9 future nba players on it.

In my opinion, in no way shape or form could Kentucky '96 stay with UNLV '91 or even Duke '92. I think Duke '92 would run them down and UNLV '91 would run them out of the building. Very few teams could match Duke '92 and UNLV '91 or pass like UNLV '91.

The '96 team didn't win its conference and would not have beaten UNLV in 1991. Every team struggles at some point and Duke happened to struggle against Kentucky. Stop claiming your beloved '96 is the greatest of all time because it ain't even close.
