  • Pretty catchy tune :)

  • Wonderful!!

    You are the master!!

    Congratulations!!

  • @leo3xxx

    Thanks!

  • @patthehat

Thanks for checking it out. Yeah, the Digis do nice big octave sounds...even better when you're playing octaves on top of it...

  • Sensacional!!!

  • Amazing!

  • So how did you do that really big octave sound?

  • I open up my mouth and play out of both sides at once, with my tongue blocking out the notes in the middle.

By the way, there are wider intervals than octaves going on in that piece. At various points I play 10ths (octave plus a third) and 12ths (octave plus a 5th). Some of my pieces (not this one) use intervals as wide as a double octave. The basic technique is the same.

  • Wow that is just crazy!!!

  • No more crazy than anything else that makes a big sound...

  • Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!!! This is just awesome. I am going to have to tune one of my harps up and try it. I tuned one up to Country but then made it into a Melody Maker. The MM is o'keh but you I cannot get the chords out of it like you get with the Country/Maj 7th Tuning. I am going to bust one of my harps open and do this again.

  • Did you know that you can buy Special 20s off the shelf in Country Tuning?

I tuned the one I used for this performance (a Lee Oskar in Db) up myself, but it's just as easy to buy one.

  • Great playing !

Thanks a lot, I enjoy your sound !

    Steph.

  • Hey Richard, great to see you on Youtube. I enjoyed the video. :)

Dude, I always thought you kinda look a little like Bruce Campbell... But damn man... you sound like him too! haha

  • Wonderful Richard; Thank you for the piece and the explanation of the techniques. The double sounds remind me of Howard Levy's version of "Amazing Grace"

  • Thank you Richard! Great arrange! Can you play intervals with one hole blocked with tongue? I can play octaves (2 hole blocked) and wider intervals, but I can't play 1 and 3 hole at the same time. Can you reccomend some exercises?
