Attachment theory helps parents learn how to appropriately care for their child. It is important for children to be held, loved, and cared for. The relationship a child has with his/her primary caregiver will affect how a child relates to others for the rest of their lives. The other comments show how ignorant some people can be.

This is all about NTs trying to make spectrum kids like them(presumably because it is a better way to be). I have an awesome relationship with my child. I never forced him to look me in the eye. He does not speak. We snuggle a lot, but never against his will.
