Clarinet swings beautifully. China boy is a classic to show off the talent in the individual players. Great Tenor sax and trombone. I want to hear this band live. Check out Pete Fountain's and Benny Goodman's versions. NOw that's smokin clarinet. the clarinet her is superb. Thanks.
The technical expertise shown by these guys and the upper echelons of the jazz fraternity is absolutely amazing. I recall many years ago one of the noted Rock guitarists was at Ronnie Scott`s place in London and when asked if he wanted to sit in, he declined the offer and said, "This stuff is beyond me, I`ll just listen and soak up the skills of these guys, they are bloody amazing, I`ll stick to rock it`s easier."
man! I love that little: 2:25 bit of the grandfathers clock bass!

Amesome, but I think that the banjo would match better in this song, because it so well to use for "Chinese" Jazz tunes.
Especially the tenor banjo can immitate "Far East" sounding melodies with jazzy style.

This reminds me of the Dixieland jazz I
heard when working in New Orleans in
1965. Was just 20 then but the subconscious still rings with it. Dutch
Swing Band has accomplished a marveous cultural value in replicating this.
My regret: that Ton doesn't do a lead break of his own.
