@fatalordeal If you like extreme music, but also want it to have a more complicated composition, you would probably like melodic metal. I would start with Wintersun and Blind Guardian. They both have the punch of metal, but have the knowledge of classical composers. If you are feeling daring, you can jump straight into the depths of melodic metal and check out Dissection, but they are difficult to get into if you don't know much about black metal. Thanks for accepting my opinion maturely :)

Check out Sacramentum, Vinterland, Lord Belial, Gates of Ishtar, Raise Hell (only their first album Holy Target), they all sound very similar to Dissection and incorporate classical/baroque melodies into their music. You should also check out Belphegor and A Gruesome Find. Belphegor is a bit more straightforward, but has lots of epic melodies within their music. A Gruesome find is more traditional death metal rather than black metal.
