  • kill the us, period. They are the funny guys who turned everything up side down

  • ban this awful excuse for a video..factually incorrect on EVERY LEVEL

  • @AroundSun You must be an ignorant idiot. Enjoy being a slave to consumerism.

  • She cares about her planet so much, she takes a sh*t outside to fertilize the flowers.

  • @riverlioness Your opinion means less then the idiots who create this fucked up system we live in.

  • This might be true, but really, who cears of people in third world countries? Negroes, sandmonkeys and chinese...? Woulden't world be better without them?

  • So tell me how she is lying? show me your facts

  • Ya we're running out of resources and stuff, but a lot of these facts are fudged. I'm not saying she's completely lying, but she is stretching the truth a bit

  • Only the dishonest fear the truth

  • 0:35 PACMAN

  • I can't believe these hippie bastards pulled in so many people just because they said. We're going to be here for a hell of a long time, so don't freak out about a few trees. BTW water will always be here as long as it stays in out atmosphere, because it cycles.

  • @Ajboi89 Ummmm, of course water will always be here. It's the quality and ownership that IS changing. pointing out the obvious and calling people names = an empty idea

  • @badpanda84

How many years before cell phones were invented were you demanding one and who did you demand it to?

How much corp stock did you buy before product release?

The answer is 'you demanded nothing and had no idea those things even existed'

Some corp r&d dept invented it...then the marketing dept advertised it (aka told you that you wanted it)...and you obeyed by buying one or more.....

Now you run around telling folks you gave them the idea through your demands.....lol

  • The narrator keeps saying "we".

As in 'we' are trashing the planet.

    'We' are destroying the resources.

    But 'we' aren't doing that.....

    Corporations are doing that.

'We' are just the ignorant sloths that supply the labor and consumer force

'We' only use/have that junk/stuff and throw it out because corporations originated it and told us 'we' wanted it (even though 'we' really don't want it...that's why 'we' throw it out)

  • Why does every jackass with a computer have to dump on religion, no matter what the subject is?

  • @dwood520 yeah strangley enough I've noticed that too

  • But then again, like JFK said, "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country." I'd say everyone's a bit at fault. Some more than others, but everyone is ('cept maybe for babies and young children. But adults have the power to find out this information and think for themselves). So we do have to take a wee bit o'credit.

  • @allspeechiswelcome yeah but coropation are buying making stuff we demand.

If there wasnt a demand for stuff then coporation would be making stuff

  • @badpanda84 look at the story of bottled water. they MAKE the demand.

  • @IdrianKathe Ok you have a point - marketing dose play an important role in business. But they cant force people to buy stuff. If you dont want to buy bottle water they cant force you to do so

  • @badpanda84

Ah, but you see commercials that condemn tap water and thus think: "Maybe I shouldn't trust my tax dollars to get me clean water. I do, however, trust Pepsi because I've never gotten sick after drinking Pepsi products, and that is one eco-friendly looking mountain on the bottle." But yes we still have a choice that's not limited to Aquafina or Dasani. I have one word:Brita.

  • @IdrianKathe I dont think its a question about people not trusting tap water ( althouugh if you live in Bali that is a valid concern) but bottled water tastes alot diffrent. in some areas.

  • @IdrianKathe actually I havent see comerical condeming tap water - maybe that show that in the states but I havent seen any in Australia

  • @allspeechiswelcome but corporations can't exist without customers.

  • I really think this is eye opening. You guys should touch it up a bit (nothing major) and send it off to middle schools and try to hit the ones that listen earlier on. Kudos for you guys.

  • I was first shown this video in church (its a very open minded church unlike alot of them out there.) Her message is simple in this video, start taking care of the planet we live on. The lady Anne Leonard even said in an interview she isn't against "stuff" but she wants everyone to appreciate what they have and not just do mindless spending. I mean think about it, how many people are in crazy debt because of mindless spending? it'll help the environment and your pocket.

  • I'm starting to wonder if human beings have lost the capability of being intellectually honest. Intellectual honesty knows no political ideology. It's about the truth. And whenever there is truth these days, it's only a portion of the truth. A theory is something that has been tested many times and never proven to be false. We let other people test things, assume it's legit and then take their word for it. Sustainability is important, but I'm not sure if we're capable of destroying the planet.

  • Don't expect angry comments... i completely agree wtih you.

  • Its a fact that we are destroying our planet. Its a fact that the mega-corp companies are doing it more than anyone chooses to believe. I spend more time in the wild than 99% of the people on here and I see the filth and witness the changes. Its easier to deny something that has never affected you. Im sure Ill get angry comments, anger is easier than empathy. This world needs more people like Jane Goodall and Archie Gray Owl, or we will end up living like another Hero of mine... Cody Lundin.

  • oh gosh people talk about white screens and such trash!!!!!!

wtf think a bit more! i don't say that everything she says is 100% right but it is a good way to start thinking!!!

if you don't agree then do some research and look if she is absolutely wrong or if there are few things she got right!

  • This is fine.

Doesnt the bible say all this was created for us anyway.

Doesnt the bible say that we should multiply and multiply.

He will come back and help us when we get to 80% capacity..

    Haha bullshit.

This is why we need to get rid of religion and racial boundaries so we can all work together to actually make this system work.

  • Logical fallacy: over generalization. Just because the bible says that doesn't mean all religions agree to that type of concept. I advice you to read the Quran which has a completely different theme and tone such as Man's role as a Steward on the earth (khalifah), Islam's concept of fasting and against any form of waste which is basically the golden rule against consumerism.

  • No argument from me lets get it done. How do you help brainwashed people?

  • ok this chapter is bs. we have all the resources in the asteroid belt. quit spending money on war and spend all that money on space.

  • The throw away culture has really made a mess of the environment. We never realize what happens to the things that we throw away. We assume that they are somehow gotten rid of, but the truth is that they just stay there, polluting the environment. We at Climatarians are so aware of this that we try to bring like-minded individuals together through our web interface to make a lasting impact on our environment.

  • Use the ether like Tesla told us.

The ether can never be destroyed, so use it in good heath.

Then your first graphic stays the same and all the rest is eliminate.

Get Einstein to help you find it.

The only was out of the science set by mind control.

  • Two hundred years from now, after the communist take over, this film will be seen as a historical piece of classic liberal propaganda.

  • I absolutely agree. We are trashing the world. Why is this woman wearing clothes? Did anyone trash the world to make them. WTF is this woman talking about. glen beck is right! So??? I feel like I just wasted my precious time...Lets see $15 per hour this video took me 2minutes to watch and electricity to use my computer, and part of the cost of the computer, wear and tear on my computer. I see that whoever produced this video...owes me some money. What about the resources to produce it?

  • I think this woman should hold true to her socialist ideals and share the profits she's made selling this video to school districts across the country by mailing a check to each one of us.

  • SOCIALIST PROPAGANDA!!!! This lady is a liberal crazy idiot, not only does she not have her facts correct on just about anything, she is funded by a group that is totally against the Constitution. I am a Teacher and can't believe ANY teacher would show this to students. Teacher's you have an obligation to do HOMEWORK also, do not be swayed by the liberals, socialist, the Unions, those against the U.S Constitution, or special interest groups.

  • Comment removed

  • Socialism is great, the only reason you commie haters don't like it is because it's never worked. We should not care that it's a total failure, what kind of standard is that? The problem with the free enterprise system is it makes everything else look bad. If we can just get rid of it then maybe this "stuff" would make some sense, don't you think? Well anyway why should we care, let's push forward with this malarkey and see if we can get enough of the dumb shits to fall for it.

  • She has a fat ass---eating more than her share. hang the whore

  • more than our share?? what?? hello COMMUNISM!

  • How long is this? It's already boring...

  • The source documentation says 40% of rivers are "unfishable, unswimmable, or undrinkable." Annie Leonard just says "undrinkable." So she is lying.

  • We are NOT running out of resources!!

This is guilt and fear!!! I'm calling her out!

  • I love how all these flaming, bleeding heart liberals come up with these ideas that America is trashing the world more than any other country. First of all, lets have a look see at China then shall we? Not to mention, we apparently to everything wrong but I definitely don't see any proposals to make things better other than the subliminal message of Socialism.

  • The people in the private sector have done more for the enviroment then these losers have. Yes they take some but then they give back. Not like those commie hippe liberal progressives who talk about how they care for the enviroment, even though they haven't done a goddamn thing except smoke the earth.

  • This video and the people who brought this forward are a JOKE. We're on to you folks!

  • Well....I've seen enough of this 'stuff'.....I'm gonna go watch some Sarah Palin videos.............

  • Well, one thing I DO KNOW--her statistics about TREES in North America are a total lie! Yeah, we CUT 96% of trees but we replanted 'em! AND, we put out fires that mother nature used to destroy millions of acres! Bottom Line: There are MORE trees in North America TODAY than when Columbus landed. If she's lying about that, what other statistics can we believe? Since the whole video is based on statistics, it rises or FALLS on their credibility!

  • Notice the fat corporation w/ $ on it's chest holding hands with the federal government.

That is General Electric holding hands with the Obama administration.

  • Lynn Harsh w/ the Evergreen Freedom Foundation was on Glenn Beck, she said herself and an economic student put together a storyboard to be distributed to schools as a contrast the "Story of Stuff". This way our children can get both sides of the story, they can choose for themselves and their minds are not as vulnerable to corruption.

We need to be ever vigilant!!!

  • all the rich bankers and industrialist have all the wealth and now they tell us not to use stuff so we can be poor and those frickin arse holes can be rich this is a fake retarded video for fake retards who fall for all the yellow journalism and propaganda !!!

  • uh? do we really give a fuck about all this crap. they showed this to me at school and it is really jus a bunch of bull. why the fuck would you wonder. your like the only person who really cares at all. you know what watch george carlins vid on save the planet. that seems MUCH better that this crap!!!

  • All you socialists and environmentalists out their, wanna know how you can "save the planet"? Stop buying things. That's right. No more Wal-Mart, no more grocery stores, no more electricity, no more water, no more computer. Make your own furniture, and grow your own food till the day you die. Dedicated enough to do that? I really doubt it. Your very existence is killing the planet. "Save the planet; Kill yourself!"

  • sorry i had come on here and drop some knowledge. for all you people out there afraid of the nanny state, who do think dictates your present life? private unaccountable tyrannies called corporations. you are free to make worthless individualists decisions but have no deciding power in reality. big business owns the govt and it is fast approaching to owning the world

  • Don't worry... in less than 5 years at that rate the govn will provide you with everything you need. It will tell you how many children you can have, when you become too much of a burden to live and should allow yourself to die (yes, there will be a follow up video, see link above).

I'm glad my children will listen to me and not this sort of crap they are trying to feed kids today!

  • Check out HowTheWorldWorks here on youtube and watch the critique of this movie.

  • When I first hard about the video, I thought this would be about how our production of physical products has its drawbacks on sustainability of non-renewable resources. Something completely science-related, not government-related. They threw in a political agenda and that raised a red flag for me. You can perfectly send a message without mentioning what's wrong in the government, to avoid mixed reactions.

  • Okay thats just misleading. To say that we have less than 4% of our original forests is just plain wrong. We have logged about 95% of our forests. And do you know what we do after we log it? We re-plant. Its not gone forever idiot. To think that this is being shown to kids.

  • shes a Marxist she does not care about people but profit

  • shes pointing out how the current system effects people due to the PROFIT SYSTEM WE LIVE IN.theres absolutly NOTHING marxist about this.the whole point of this video is to point out how people are affected by the system we live in.

  • Yes our current system is civilization its unsustainable the hunter-gatherers were more egalitarian more efficient and lived a better life without technology without industrialization without money. I'm against consumerism

  • i am all for technology,,but completly against the monetary system and profit based consumerism...its destroying the planet and advocates corruption and greed for short term profit. Why do you claim this to be marxist?there is nothing marxist about it...its the reality of the system we are in.This fim advocates nothing..it simply highlights in laymans terms, the problem inbuilt into the monetary/consumer profit based system

  • Third world countries export raw materials because without that industry they would be in even worse off shape.. This woman is actually starting to sound anti-human. And if we are using too many resources and the planet will be all used up in 5,000 years, then humans should be damned if they haven't come up with the scientific technology to do something about it (think about us compared to people living in 3000 BC).

  • Yeah, it's all America's fault. BULLSHIT!

  • Think about how many solar panels Obama could buy if he was not INCREASING the defense budget, and INCREASING our military presence around the world. Think of how many solar panels he could have bought if he was not giving TRILLIONS to people on Wall St. in business, when the should be IN JAIL!!!

  • Your page says that you believe in small government and yet you believe in jailing people that run businesses that fail? Doesn't that kind of kill the whole idea of taking risk in this country? And giving money to companies is a capital investment, which means that we could see our money come back in the future. Purchasing solar panels doesn't have any economic return for the US government. How in the world can you claim you are small government? Your name is retarded btw

  • They deserve to be in jail for taking people's retirement by inflating stocks and cooking the books, NOT for running an unsuccessful business. You are supposed to go OUT of business if you run a bad business. Not get trillions from the government!! No matter what you think, we will get back pennies on the dollar--if any. Obama is a corporate, Wall St. tool, and you are an unpaid corporate cheerleader. What do you believe in? Not much I bet...

  • And yet there are companies that have already offered to pay the government back and Obama has refused to allow them to do this. I don't think that the fault lies at all with the corporations. It has everything to do with our president.

  • and this is being shown in schools? brainwashing at its finest

  • Her parents should have taken her advice and not created another mouth to devour my planet. BY THE WAY... NICE VIDEO you made with no plastics, metals, artificial lighting....

  • This subject would be much better in a discussion rather than an arrogant assumption. So much for "free thinking" in the school system.

  • If your worried about the environment youtube/google NEW WORLD ORDER!! Obamas Just A puppet! Wake Up Obama LOVERS!!

  • Whoa--- wrong numbers, bad math. Just one example. the United States has replaced more forest area in the last 50 years than was cut down in the preceding 100. There is a differences in the type but forests are a renewable resource that with proper management can be enjoyed by our great-great grand children. e.g. of this are northern Minnesota, Wisconsin and Maine. This is a very limited one sided view. Metals that are mined, are never lost. We just will have to mine them from old land fills.

  • Buddmac

true but how long will it take for these trees to grow in to giants? and how will one type of tree effect the ecosystem? and will our demand for "stuff" be equal to the sources we got. it takes hundreds of years for trees to grow, and we can cut them down in one day.

  • No ---again. Bad numbers. In northern Minnesota we now harvest the Poplar (Aspen) tree. The Poplar can grow to maturity in 10 to 20 years, at a much greater density then conifer (pine) or hardwoods like oak and ash. Poplar is the primary tree used in paper and chip board production. Greater wildlife habitat is maintained because there is a large diversity of plant life in a Poplar forest than a conifer forest. We can maintain large old growth forest but everything has a life cycle.

  • and with that you mean that after 10 to 20 years they are giants and are as big as can be? or do you mean that they are large enough to be cut down? and even so does this process meet the demands with out needing to extend land masses for production and what about other types of trees?

  • Please don't confuse their message with facts. They know what is right for all of us even though 99% of them have never been out of the city to see how the rest of the world lives. Americans are mean, bad capitalists.

  • Pac-Man at 0:37

  • I'm thirsty and say, I live in Vegas and its a dessert so we need water from California, am I irresponsibly exploiting California now?

  • get rid of them and you'll have your economy worse than it is now....just saying.

I don't even know why I am telling you this: I'm not hispanic and I don't live in the US.

  • No you will have all the younger kids that are unemployed, EMPLOYED! GET RID OF ALL THE MEXICANTS! Starting Tommorow at 12:00 in cali! we will also get rid of liberal tree huggers!. lol

  • Amen! What time?

  • omg this video is so true!!!!! how sad!!!!

  • seven foot ball fields a minute? dirty yank

    bastardised greedy consumers. yee haa.

  • The human race will be its own demise. Eventually, in a century or two or three or something, unless we change our ways, the earth will be so polluted that life will be unsustainable. There are many possible apocalypses, but the most possible are the ones where we kill ourselves. Nuclear war, too much garbage, oceans flood land because of global warming, global ecosystem dies, no more resources, toxic air due to pollution, man-made disease outbreak (like antibiotic resistant bacteria). CHANGE

  • YOU ARE AWSOME!

  • Wow this is very very very sad :'( ...and the worst part ...Its all true :( nooooo !!!From now on i will help the nature !!!!!!!!

  • This video guarantees to make you feel 44% more suicidal. I think I know where this series is going, and in summation, WE'RE ALL F**KED!

  • Shut up you jerk! Japanrussel! you obviously don't understand this. SHE IS THE SOURCE! she spend 10 years traveling!

She is actually one of the few persons that cares about how the world is going to be. And she's talking about people that gets trashed for a dollar a day, so we can have our little shit radio!...

  • If this video had been made WAY LESS POLITICAL it would have been entirely more effective at achieving its desired purpose, which is for humans to live with less stuff. But with so many other political overtones and finger pointing going in this video, the very people that need convincing are being turned away and hardened in their position because this video has insulted them so. Being able to argue a point is one thing. Being able to convince opposition is another thing entirely. This Vid F--

  • To use a cliche, I am "open minded" when it comes to environenmental and social justice issues. If there's something wrong with the current order of things then yes we should fix it. But I agree with this poster. If Annie Leonard wants to change minds she'd do better to leave out weasel words. Tank as the best symbol of government for authoritarian regimes? Sure. "Increasingly in our own"? Sorry, you just lost 50% of your audience.

  • the video is sad, but true!

  • I see pacman! Join voluntary human extinction now!

  • I dont wanna sound so negative for saying this but if thats how it is thats how it is. Every specie will go extinct at some point in time, and this is agreed through out the science community. Thats definite just a matter or time, and this is probably how human race will go out

  • Excellent points!

Now that green is chic, most consumers want to buy their way to sustainability. We need this basic reminder that quantity should always be the first decision (ie, do I really need this cool new toy?). Then we can focus on production quality. But the greenest purchase is always the one you don't make.

  • so fucking true

fuck everyone who didnt believe global warming

  • yes true but this is boring

  • yeah and this is why USA and China are going to doom this planet. Because you can keep selling its people goods and telling them it's gonna fuck up the planet and they'll still just wanna be a couch potatoe

  • Its called Supply and Demand retard. The reason they produce stuff is because people demand it. If no demand there will be no supply.

  • Retard ? Please keep your insults to your own ass. Do you know creation of demand ?

And does demand justify mass over production without any responsibility. Companies will now need to add a strong environmental friendly policy in order to have a stable planet emerging in the next decades. This is fact, if we keep like this we just have no future. And wherever you come from this concerns you, that's what you should understand.

  • This is very true, we should be investing more time into recycling the resources we already have then tearing everything else apart, same with global warming, if the oil companies hadn't bought off all the car retailers we would most likely be on a more environmentally friendly car, and this is all cause by the greedy corperations, they obviously don't see anything more than materialism and wealth.

  • USA is the principal pulluter in the world...in relationship with the amount of people that lives on that country.

  • What is your source for that "statistic?"

  • animal planet, national geographic, discovery channel

  • it's amazing that people needs a documentary to know that in this world a lot of powerfull countries are controled by the media, industry, etc.

the only thing that will open people's eyes will be a huge crisis in every way, something

will show us the failures of human relations in the world. people should be a part of humanity and then part of a coutry

  • Posted on

    ngopost(dot)org/story.php?title=The_Story_of_Stuff

  • You know, the spark of this mess is ignorance. A need to understand and change the world without actually seeing or caring for it.

Example: I once played a game about kamikaze angels, and you play as seven assasins who mercilessly kill their enemies and devour their blood, while the media and press mark them as terrorists. You think you know more, you just have to get the hang of the different perspective-

  • And then your boss turns out to be best friends with the enemy's boss, who think of you as a freakin chess game.

Face it, the only ones who get to the top of the influence chain are the ones who are not deluded to beliefs created by their own, but are blind to love.

  • I've seen all this :'we have to save the planet NOW stuff" when I was 12 and that's almost 30 years now. What has changed? Not that much. I've been a greenpeace member, active member for WWF but I lost all hope on these organizations. Not because I'm older now, but as long as we keep on fighting against the powerful we will loose.

Downgrading will never work without a dictator to force us, wanting more is human instinct.

We have to find a way to make green more attractable and sexy. Greenlove

  • That is quite a negative response I think. Why does green have to be sexy. This film is directed at those who don't have a clue about all this stuff and covers things that some of us do know quite nicely. Use less and think about your actions. What's wrong with that?

  • Needs to be sexy because most people will look at a film like this and say "hmm, that's awful" then go watch tv or eat dinner or something and forget all about it. no one cares. like he said, 30 years and nothing's changed. Unless it's something that people think will benefit themselves or is fun or trendy, not enough people will do it. Only the diehards. And they're outnumbered.

  • Do you know how much energy an one-word-search costs?

No...Well you can boil 1 liter of water for every search on google.

Have you calculated how much energy your movie costs? What is the price for your banthwith of your site and your youtube-profile?

So what are you gonna do, shut down the internet? Only technology can save this planet. Imagine all servers on solar, hydrogen cars etc,

Less isn't gonna work, better will!!!

I'm sorry if you feel offended, I love the world love to save it.

  • We are using REALLY too munch stuff. It´s true. grettings to all from a mexican in Montreal.

  • two words sum up everything wrong in the world.....george bush

  • what the fuck ever to the people that think that these video's are wrong or retarded. think about it. all we do is sit on our fat asses while this is happening. like it was saying in the video we've used up 1/3rd of our resorces over the past decade. do the math, how long do we really have until we have no more to use. even if this video is wrong on some pointers we still do only have one planet, which means sooner or later we will run out of resources.

    -Lenna, Crystal's best friend.

  • Im 14 and this is scaring me...='[

i really want to make a difference this needs to be aired on TV. I bet if Barak became became president, he could do something about it.

    BARAK FAN #1 =D

    [[dont hate. lol.]]

  • This is hilarious, frankly. The issue is a real one, but it's so hard to take her seriously because it's so funny. "Mining, which is just another word for natural resource exploitation". Which it is, but that just comes across as comedy rather than a clarion call to action.

  • She made it in that way(as a comedy) and with simple drawings so everybody can understand this complex topic.People don't want to accept the truth and many others are just too comfortable to start a change that could benefit all of us.

  • People who don't care about sustainable consumption of "stuff" should really read up on stories about the destruction of "great" civilisations like Easter island because they were thoughtless in their consumption, "well she uses technology to make the video" some argue, yeah but the technology here isn't being aimlessly used but rather is put to good use to send important valid points to a brainwashed and greedy society

  • This system is EVIL, EVIL, EVIL!

  • Oh yesss it is!!

  • wow.

i call bs on almost all of her stats.

  • why don't you go to the website and look at the resources and stop being so bullheaded.

  • He swamy456-

I did goto her site. She cites stuff out of context, and most of her resources come from books that don't subsequently cite anything.

That = epic fail in my book.

She's got a political agenda to push and ONLY wants the GOVERNMENT to help out! YOu got to be kidding me, its not the governments job to keep me safe, its mfischer1's job. When people start taking responsibility, this problems (even if there is one, i don't think there is) will fix itself. Its called CAPITALISM!

  • Listen I'm going to say this first that i'm not inside the box and I know about the global agenda. I know the governments not going to help us out. Even if her statistics are not 30 or 40 percent accurate its still enough to wipe out all our resources. Also her idea of our consumer culture in her consumer video is absolutely true. I agree with you too man we all have to look at for ourselves. Yet with the knowledge I know and what I take in from what I see going on everyday thisvideomakessense.

  • this is in layman's terms which is good. it appeals to the masses. they don't need to cater to the "intellectuals" because they (supposedly) already know whats going down.

  • does this hint at taking away free-market economy so the governments can be larger than these huge companies that produce so many jobs for people? Without these huge companies the government would just control prices instead of there being competition/supply/demand/natural price which ultimately control prices. As if America wasn't making enough of a downfall into Communism as it is already

  • I decided to 'watch' this video.

Which is a fancy word for 'hear the woman talk'

Which is a fancy word for 'Tolerate nonsense yapping'

See? you can make anything sound ugly like that. It's kind of childish and sad because the point is valid, but such greenpeace-like (and by that I mean extremist) talk just makes me want to stop watching.

Oh also... If politics couldn't make a buck from inside deals, I believe they would stop catering to corporations. Beware the agendas.

  • i agree with madsterV

  • You are a "blind " man that refuse to accept the truth wich is the fancy word for "You are a dumb ass that live in a bubble".

  • awesome vid. amazing.

  • and my god sure the system is flawed but this is gross misrepresentation and oversimplification of the issue with an obvious agenda so buy into it you naive fools and et heartily from the trough of stupidity

  • I for one disagree. the system doesnt work and will eventually lead to a worldwide crisis. our rate of consumption is overwhelming. what are we gonna do when we hit the last drop of petroleum?

And wait, a lot of people dont have value? thats a human being youre talking about sir. a boy from Africa doesnt have as much right to live as you do?

later on in the video, it credits the efforts that are being made.

And one video series is worth a shot. its got you and me talking about it right now.

  • Amen.

  • Right on man Right on

  • You didnt get to the end this is just chapeter 2 she talks about it in the end!!!

  • the kind of wholesale destruction of the planet that we've seen over that past hundred years is nothing short of criminal. this very small number of people in business and government responsible for this kind of insanity should all be taken out back and shot so that the rest of humanity might have a chance at actually surviving.

  • i gotta say the one thing that pisses me off is the basics being incorrect.

if your going to say 1/3of something is missing, dont fill in 1/4 of the pie chart to show for it.

  • a 1/3 was shaded in

  • 1/3 is bigger than 1/4

  • I think you need some basics mate

  • In response to Unholy: Not only are we taking your oil at insanely low prices, we're taking Venezuela's and Iraq's (whatever we can get from them, which is very little), and pretty much everyone's. Bush's dumb hatred against Chavez is prolly going to screw us over, and not only us. Trust me, if America runs out of oil, they'll make damn sure that everyone else does, too.

To all people who want to debate me: Keep out the cussing and insults. I have a right to my opinion, as well as you do, too.

  • u know, there is more and more pro

  • Third world? Uhh, how about us, Canada?

    *Ring ring*

"Oh, hi, um, Canada? We fucked up again... We went and started a war with the only country supplying us with oil, and... um... they stopped selling it to us. Can we take yours for an insanely low price?"

Riiiiight, third world countries are the only ones getting screwed by the U.S.

  • Where is she getting her facts from? 1/3 of the earth's resources have been used up in the past decades?? Really? All of them?

  • Yes. Really. All of them.

  • ill be having an exam nextweek about this...

    this is a great story..lol

  • damn the humans. damn them to their suffering.

  • she's talking almost like she's explaining it to little kids. But she's got a point, if we dont start going green, in fifty years, were pretty much screwed.

  • like every thing in this world its a little bias(sp?) sure but she dose make some valid points.

that being sayed she leaves out alot too. new teck is being made every day to help minimise the stuff we need to take from the earth. all of the projections that people making these types of videos use are based on todays useage.....

what about tomarow when the teck side catches up?

then we may be able to make all we what at little to no cost to the planet

  • I'm taking test tomorrow about this...

  • lol i luv my homework

  • this was my homework.... lol

  • Actually, ALL of the planet's original forests are gone. They've been replaced multiple times over the aeons.

Furthermore, the purpose of government is not to take care of us. Government literally has only two legitimate roles: defend the citizens from foreign and internal threats to our sovereignty as a nation and to secure (not grant) the inalienable rights that are guaranteed to us by the Creator.

  • No, the role of gov't is to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity.

The preamble of the constitution. You can't cherrypick it.

  • That's the essence of what I was saying. But it does not say that the government is supposed to take care of us. It cuts both ways. Don't read more into it than was intended.

  • Promoting the general welfare doesn't mean regulation of monopolies, child labor laws, environmental protections? What does it mean?

  • Any one of these things can be debated as to whether they actuall
