hey mate....3 of us got these and building now. We're confused as to why the tank wont fit straight into the fuse. Did u have any trouble and did the mouth of the bottle sit in the hole in the firewall or did u reposition it somewhere else?
I dont know if theyve changed things but our fuel tanks have a kind of a 'lip' on the end below the mouth of the bottle. Having difficulty getting them to fit easily.
@maccanaut Yes the nozzle of the fuel tank sits slightly lower than the firewall opening and the "Lip" of the fuel tank also prevents it from sitting flushed with the firewall. Was quite puzzled by this design myself. Anyhow, this did not really affect the flying characteristics.
If you plan on using a 55ax, i would recommend you use a 10 x 6 or 10 x 7 prop for optimum performance. Good luck on your maiden!
Nice flying. I just went and ordered mine today. Hope to have it in the air within 2 or 3 weeks, although i am still working on a couple of others at the moment also.
Looks good though......wondering what engine u have in it?
@maccanaut Thanks. it was powered by a OS55AX engine. It has ample power. With that engine, I suggest you use a 10x6 prop for optimum performance. All the best mate! =)
@pixeldixelshizel 55AX sounds good. My pc9 has arrived just today in the shop and is being picked up as i write. Undecided about motor. Was gonna strip my classic for parts but now wanna keep it as a hack. Decisions decisions.
these are really nice planes. with your landing bring it in at 1/4 throttle, get it to about a foot of the ground cut to idle and let it flare till landing. you can bust front wheels by landing nose first. go pc9's
nice maiden . . mine is ready to , hope my rx bat is in right pos , ive put it just in front of the servos , is it ok , a tigre 51 up front . . cheers . . .
