@theporksicle i believe that would be possible, but it would definitely cost a lot... I am not sure how the chipping works and I am sure it would be hard to tune.

@k20ep3si the 911 has like 115 horse power less. so i don't know. I think the high center of gravity and suspension actually contributes more then wait. Also momentum in corners and the weight swings might contributes to the handling too.
hang on. on his times lap in the SUV there ares shots from right in front of him but when they zoom out at say 3:36 magically theres no camera car in front of him...

@RobaDave the old cayenne was very good on road and off-road because of having a low-range gearbox so it had the perfect combination for an SUV. The new one though sucks because with no low range is horrible off road. So what is the point of prefering the new Cayenne to a Panamera 4S, because anyway none of them can go off the tarmac .

Turbo is PDK-equipped, pretty sure that doesn't, and it has 21" wheels - but I seen it off road and it's pretty amazing how it climbs even without low-range. it does climb like a monkey, man, and has all those adjustable suspension and locking diffs + hill control etc

Put it up against a $40K 430hp Corvette that has nearly the same weight as the 4S with far bigger tires and brakes, and you realize it can't measure up to a real properly balanced sports car (centralized weight unlike the Porsche) with gobs of torque.
@spencerleeb unlike normal lights, leds are not constantly on. they flash at a certain frequencey, which makes them so energy efficient and long living. the human eye can not detect these flashes because they happen so quickly, but a camera with a certain shutter speed (i don't exactly remember, but some setting in the camera) can make these flashes visible

I think it's because the Cayenne is such a new car, and so ahead of it's time, that the basically 5 year old 911 doesn't have enough technology to be much faster. When the 991 comes out, and they give ALL 4WD 911 models PTV, the king will again emerge.
I think the Cayenne is ugly, but I've got to tip my hat to Porsche on the Cayenne's performance. Now for a really interesting SUV vs SUV vs SUV vs SUV comparison, how about pitting the Cayenne's lap time against times from a BMW ActiveHybrid X6 (a sport SUV competitor), a Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG (another high performance SUV competitor), and a Cadillac Escalade (a luxu-barge SUV).

I was at an exotics dealership today, and I saw the new Cayenne. It looks much better up front. Sort of like an obese Boxster with an ass lift.

While I happen to agree with you about crappy yanky cars; you should know Porsche is a German company and a German brand. Their cars may be built all over the world but this would not affect their resale value.
The only thing that baffles me is why anyone would want to take pride in a car designed by Hitler and associated with Sept 11th ?!.. I'll take the Cayenne thanks.

In the US, it costs about $25K more than a Corvette Z06. It weighs about 100lbs more than the Z06, and yet it has smaller wheels tires and brakes, a slightly higher CG, less centralized mass compared to the front mid engine and mid rear transmission Z06, and it is down 120hp and 160ftlbs of torque on the Corvette (with very slight turbo lag compared to instant throttle response of Vette).
And it has a 3.7cuft trunk vs Vettes 22.4cuft.

Put it up against a $40K 430hp Corvette that has nearly the same weight as the 4S with far bigger tires and brakes, and you realize it can't measure up to a real properly balanced sports car (centralized weight unlike the Porsche) with gobs of torque.

@spencerleeb unlike normal lights, leds are not constantly on. they flash at a certain frequencey, which makes them so energy efficient and long living. the human eye can not detect these flashes because they happen so quickly, but a camera with a certain shutter speed (i don't exactly remember, but some setting in the camera) can make these flashes visible

@FanzyHanzy no im referring to the fact that the digital video camera they used to film this makes the LED taillights look like they are flickering when played back. not the stability management that flashes the brake lights under heavy braking to alert drivers behind. watch at 0:26 , the driver is not braking, but the taillights (not the brake lights) are flickering. its because the refresh rate of the LEDs. but i can understand your confusion on my comment.

I love Porsche and think they are outstanding cars, but what the hell were they thinking when they built the Cayenne. Those things are just butt ugly. They look like they should have a Hyundai name plate on them.

@SouthernKudzu Because it sells, The Cayenne is the car/suv that saves Porsche, without it Porsche would be absorb by another car manufacture years ago, they sell more Cayenne then 911's. That gives Porsche money to built fantastic road and race car. Plus this new one doesn't look as ugly anymore. It stop trying to look like a 911.

I think it's because the Cayenne is such a new car, and so ahead of it's time, that the basically 5 year old 911 doesn't have enough technology to be much faster. When the 991 comes out, and they give ALL 4WD 911 models PTV, the king will again emerge.

I think the Cayenne is ugly, but I've got to tip my hat to Porsche on the Cayenne's performance. Now for a really interesting SUV vs SUV vs SUV vs SUV comparison, how about pitting the Cayenne's lap time against times from a BMW ActiveHybrid X6 (a sport SUV competitor), a Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG (another high performance SUV competitor), and a Cadillac Escalade (a luxu-barge SUV).
