The moment at the end when it shutters from his frail face near death to his youth again brought a tear to my eye. Not necessarily because it is Hitchen's. I think that sort of technique for most people I will always find emotionally calling.
@MetrazolElectricity He was no stoic; (Recall the waterboarding incident? Or his hedonistic lust for booze and women?) Rather, he was a self-confessed "leathery old cynic". In the same speech where he says this, he admits also that if there was anything in the world that could cause one to believe in a Divine Being, it is holding a newborn baby in one's hands. He then adds: what quickly detracts from this idea is the notion of a command to then cut at the infant's genitalia.
"Enlightened" Christ' Hitchens subjected himself to immune-system destroying radiation-sickness. Radio-"therapies" don't check the progression of neoplastic growths. Cancer is a chronic metabolic (vitamin deficiency) disease. No chronic metabolic maladies have ever been cured thru mechanical manipulation of the body. Cancer is of the vast family of noncommunicable ailments: pellagra, pernicious anemia, scurvy, night blindness, beriberi, sickle cell anemia, (& likely) arthritis.
@TheReboundingWorld stfu you stupid skank. if you dont believe in jesus you will die for ever. and if that happens i will be glad cus i will watch you burn in hell. that will be fun, to watch you burn in hell, cus you fucking suck and dont believe in jesus. jesus loves you and you dont even believe in him. why would you not believe in someone who loves you and died for your sins. you should believe the same things i believe otherwise i will be offended.
You stole MY tears...I resisted watching this for a while and finally did..it was the lure of the song you put to it...too perfect because there was something about him that makes him more important than most if not all people I've admired...I can't even believe he's dead sometimes.
@numshine9 I'm glad you took a liking to it. I too miss his polemical wit and endearing stage personality. Last summer, I happened to have gotten hold of his DC home address while I was also in DC . I dismissed the idea of showing up at his residence as shamelessly intrusive. I did mail him a two page hand-written letter thanking him for illuminating a path free from superstition and doing it without apology and with badass eloquence. Hitch was a total rockstar.
To see so many wonderful comments again gives me hope. When I feel as though religion is strangling humanity, I read the words of so many people from the USA and other nations, I don't feel so alone in my truth. Cheers Hitch.
On Hitchens. A great human being.. A fighter for intellectual, moral, and personal freedom. Probably did more damage to religion than any man or woman in near history. Cared enough to save many people from the intellectually stunted abyss of religious affliction and the mind numbing message of unquestioning, slavering servility to power figures - good or corrupt - for percieved, GREEDY self-benifit. A hater of wanton ignorance and self-induced DENIALISM. And you my friend? Where do YOU stand?
The loss of a man that is incomparable...I too am in tears. Thank you for this montage.
I would have given my life for him.
You were a one off Sir Hitchens and we your ardent fans and followers will never forget you. I will be sure to propogate the clerity of your ideas and messages to my children some day. Thank you for all your contributions and for helping so many of us to see light, and the truth. LOVE and the utmost RESPECT to you....
It is SO comforting not only to view this wonderfully edited montage but also to share the feeling of such a great loss with fellow admirers of The Hitch. There will never be another quite like him and the world is that much poorer for it. Of this I am certain.
@MetrazolElectricity There's a difference between sentiment and sentimentality. I didn't suggest he was a stoic. Far from it. We both know from his ascerbic wit and oft-time fiery temperament that he was MILES away from stoicism. But thanks again. I can't stop watching.....
What can I say other than what has already been said, except I am glad I knew of him and privileged to read his works and listen to him when he spoke against tyranny and injustice.
Earl Thomas Howard, 4th Duke of Norfolk, upon learning of his condemnation to execution by Elizabeth I, Queen of England, is purported to have proclaimed that:
'The mark of a man is in the manner of his death'.
By this standard, Christopher Hitchens has earned recognition as having died intellectually honest and decent and inspiring a zest for living life to its fullest.
I loved Christopher and I will treasure my memories of him, always, until the day I die.

Some people want young white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very small sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “awhitesoul2012” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
Thanks.

As Hitchens once said about Shakespeare, though dead, he is immortal in his works.

BRILLIANT. Fucking fantastic. I especially love the photo montage toward the end of the video - supremely well edited.
But you didn't steal my tears. I guess I lack in sentimentality much like Hitchens, and for me that's something to feel proud of.
And without a doubt he would've loved this video as much as I do!
