Early muslims didn't have a symbol, it wasn't until the Ottoman Empire that it started being used. Osman, the founder of the empire, had a dream in which the crescent moon stretched from one end of the earth to the other so he adopted the crecent moon symbol for islam. Besides, many muslims reject that symbol anyway.

It's amazing how many people are willing to overlook Obama's own words b/c of what they would rather believe. The evidence is there. When he says, "... my Muslim faith," what else can he possibly mean, except that he's a Muslim? Why are people so gullible as to think that he would NOT lie about his faith, when to tell the truth would mean he would never get elected, never have a shot at the most powerful job in the world? He wanted the power, so he lied. Happens all the time.

I know Christianity motivated much of the inclusions of our founding documents including, but not limited to, the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. I am no great fan of Obama but this is typical of selective editing that denies the listener the full context of his speeches. This leads to skewed understanding. For eg. the cut off quote "I am one of them" In the context he meant I am one of the people who have lived in Muslim countries - not necessarily "I am a Muslim" which is the skewing this video makes.

I went to Saudi Arabia and Turkey (muslim countries) once and I barely saw women with burkas on and christian churches and the locals had no problem with that. @ggreenwood4 Besides if you say that Allah is a moon god because of the crecent moon, you're retarded. The crecent moon was a symbol used by the greeks for the goddess, Diana. Early muslims didn't have a symbol, it wasn't until the Ottoman Empire that it started being used. Osman, the founder of the empire, had a dream in which the crescent moon stretched from one end of the earth to the other so he adopted the crecent moon symbol for islam. Besides, many muslims reject that symbol anyway.

Abraham (the father of the three main monothesistic religions) doubted at first that God will conceive him a child by Rebecca who had become sterile. You dont need to be moslem to know that Islamic culture had a major positive influence on Europe in the middleages, just educated. The mosque he visited is the main tourist attraction in Istanbul.
