Hello. Awesome video thank you. I would love to travel to Accra with my partner, how many days would you recommend for us to get a feel for the city? Thank you :)
I'm moving over to Accra to stay 2013 or 2014 It's gonna be my home when I die I'm wanna be put in the ground in Accra I'm a 43 year old black brother from Dallas Texas I'm out here in Corvallas Oregon USA I'm moving from here to Honolulu Hawaii next year 2012 from there hello!!! Accra!!! peace!!! from!!! your!!! brother!!! Keith!!! D!!! Cobbin!!!
@keithcobbin just make sure you do your research and have contacts out there , am sure you will have a blast! just have an open mind and be patient dont expect too much and you will get a lot out of it am sure.
@keithcobbin I live in Seattle area and often go to Oregon Coast via Corvallas. I am also interested to move in to Accra in about a year or two. I wonder if you have searched to see how much is the cost of living there. if you know anything about housing cost, and medical expences etc. please email me. just use my sign in name and I am on gmail. Thanks!
my husband and i went in march of 2010 . my husband is from ghana. we are now in the process of relocating to accra, and i cant wait. i absolutley loved it there. this video showed all different sides of accra. i really enjoyed it. on a side note, the fisherman on bojo beach come from my mother in laws family village way way way down the beach from bojo beach. you can just see the outline of some palm huts from bojo beach. we went to that village and had a wonderful time.
@Firefock1 It's in Teshie-Nungua (east of Accra). Grab a taxi or trotro (=minibus) to Coco Beach Junction in Teshie-Nungua, then take a taxi to Coco Beach Hotel and walk down the beach from there (where we were filming, is direction Accra). Sadly, this beach is not always clean :( If you want to go to a beach for swimming in Accra, the other one from the video -Bojo Beach Resort (west of Accra)- might be a better option. Also, behind Independence Square is a clean beach (sundays = busy!). Enjoy!
Nice video, showing very reallistic the life there. I am moving to Accra with my family this summer for 18 months. looking forward to have them experience this nice place as well. I have been there last year for a month and it was amazing.
I Want To Go There So Bad! I Have My New Girlfriend Who Lives In Berekum, And She Is Waiting For Me! Hey its a great video and thanks for sharing it. I plan to visit there for the first time in June or July 2011, would you suggest I start with Accra in my first visit to Ghana?, Joseph from N.C. , USA
@realmercy Ghana is also known as 'Africa for beginners',because the Ghanaians are very welcoming and helpful which makes Ghana an easy country to travel. A lot of people start in Accra (obviously 'cause of the airport, ACC - Kotoka International Airport), stay there for 1-2 weeks and then travel to the north (lot of volunteer projects are in the north and most tourists in Ghana do some sort of volunteer work). So yes, I'd definitely suggest starting in Accra. It's a great city to experience :)
We, My husband, my 13 year old son & I are looking to go here on a humanitarian trip in March 2012...watching your video makes me so excited....:) xoxo
@mwucinick thanks :) 'looking to' means you haven't made the decision yet? I'd say definitely go! Especially not going alone, but with your husband and son is something I'd recommend! If you haven't yet decided with which organization to go, we'd be happy to organize your trip! We organize trips which exist of a mix of volunteer work and visiting tourist attractions. Our website is going to be translated to English in the coming weeks teamworkholidays . com
@reueltube Please. Are you still living in Ghana? Im marrying a Ghanian and want to know a lot! would you fill me in if I sent you my email address? We currently live in Thailand.
@newgatti the place is called Bojo Beach Resort and it is on the west of Accra, see Google Maps for the exact location. We had not protected ourselves enough against the sun, so we were burned all over after a day at Bojo, but besides that we loved the place! :)
Great video! I just came back from my time in Ghana! I miss it a lot!! :) it feels so nice to recognize some of the places you filmed!! great video!! =)

why do they cut the girls hair when they start school?
lilchick67 1 year ago
@lilchick67 bc african hair can be too much work and time consuming to maintain. they want the girls to focus on their studies.
