G36C on Google Sketchup (2009)

G36E = export version w/ 6 ventholes and single dot sight

G36K = 4 ventholes , shorter than the above

G36C = 2 ventholes and universal iron sights , the shortest of all

basically they are all assault rifles , you can only customize them to be a marksman's rifle and that means there is no such thing as a G36 or any other model = sniper rifle

You need also to worry about polygon count(or triangles) when making game graphics, weapon should be under 2000 polys.

Lots of people can make a weapon with huge amount of detail(better than commercial game graphics), but optimizing it is half the job.

Also what comes to game making, serious coding skills are needed, not just modelling.

Mod making would be more suitable.

But what comes to this weapon, it looks well optimized, no wireframe view though so hard to say precisely.

@Merc963 Google Sketchup has hardly any polys in its models. To create proffesional 3D models for games you need proffesional software, not free ware off the internet

@Merc963 No disrepect to the creater of this, for it's a great model, but almost anyone can model better than the stuff you see in video games, because they have a polygon limit to prevent thier engines from crashing, while this has no poly limit. Either way, it takes a lot of effort and time to build a solid workflow for these 3d packages, and come out with a good result, so i am also impressed with this model. Keep it up

The model may be ok but I use sketchup for my job - There is no way this guy could do this just like that that... I do believe it is the sketchup animation tool or a cleaver proccess of hiden entities. Either way yeah - the models good , but this isnt the technique

yeah i figured that - but its mixed messages when i first saw this i was like - nah thats not how you model - nice outcome but pretty confusing - I am self taugh with sketchup and can model pretty much anything. Check out my SU 6 guns video...
