Also between the 1960's to today, the only major riot we had were in the 60's and the L.A riot 92. People wont riot anymore because they feel it's not to their benefit when they learned from what happen in the L.A 1992 riot. Americans have been conditioned to believe that riots are not to their benefit and they lose more by rioting. I highly disagree with Gerald at 6:40 about having riots. Americans are more occupied now then they were back in the 60's. Today Americans have Credit Card, 500 channel cable television, chain restaurants, 24 hour convienent stores, the internet, internet porn, more drugs, more night life, video games, laptop, Youtube, Dancing with the Stars, & Deal or No Deal to keep them occupied. I thought that at first but recently there were 4,000 people gathered in Cinncinati for a protest of bailouts. There was also the incident in Illinois regarding the window factory employees who staged a peaceful sit-in strike because they were getting screwed out of health benefits. I think that if the issues Gerald speaks of can be put in "bread and butter" terms then the people may not be sheep.
