@driestien You are correct. Loops are in place to enable trains to pass, but head-on collisions are frequent on the single line sections.

Hi Jez Great one, nice chatting last night. In this video you can see how slow Rovos chug along. I notice that the trees are growing over the line that you were standing on. Is that line not working at all. At least its still there. Surely it won't cost that much to get it going, if for Diesels only, or maybe steam. LOL

I asked about this when I was in SA, and word has it that the track is in excellent condition and the electrification would not cost much either.

The problem is a lack of traffic, which is why a few passing loops are going to be commissioned, but that's all.
