  • @rhouda your still there after 48 years! she knows you love her, and whats more...she loves you...stop arguing and just enjoy. you lucky, lucky people. I was so proud at my mum and dads golden wedding and was even prouder in these times to enjoy my own silver wedding last year..marriage is a commitment made by so few these days..cellebrate your golden wedding for the fact that you are still here...still married..and still in mind body and soul. • Reeves sounds very much like Gene Autry in this.

  • Fills my young heart with the desire to find my girl and sing these same lines..so touching a song..

  • missduck9...I loved your comment lol.

  • This is the orginal version of this song. It's different from the one Rod Stewart and Van Morrison sing. Both songs are great though.

  • Jim's rendition of this timeless classic will forever haunt my memories.

  • My Father used to sing this around the house. Brings back happy memories.

  • so beautiful x

  • When he passes, you'll never remember that he could not sing. The important thing is that he sang the song,....period. You didn't need to say that in your comment....even in humor.

  • wonderful songs

    God Bless

    Matt

  • Great voice, but a ugly suit.

  • This song was the late Minnie Pearl's favaorite song, and there have been many versions by great singers. Not long before she died, a number of country singers visited her and serenaded her with this song I think Eddie Arnold, who perhaps sang it be and recroded it many years ago, was among them.

The great Jimmy Davis, Eddie Arnold, and Jim Reeves sang this song best, though Marty Robbins had a fine version.

  • Great music Love the song...

  • I love that suit.

But I love the song even more.

  • Lovely...

  • my mother loved listening to jim reeves,

now shes gone even if he was singin a happy song it would make me sad! but thats life!

  • Music to break my heart in two ~~~~~~~~~~~ Beauuuuuuuuuuutiful ♪♫ ♥ ~~ M

  • I'm curious how you made the musical notes

  • @clarebannerman Why two? Heart is not to be divided .One can not be Two a huuuum.... Now Let's keep listening Jim's "I love you Because...live in Oslo, Norway, in 1964". He is from Texas. I live in Texas. I missed him more than " Adios Amigo...". I came to this great state a little too late to honor the greatest Jim!

  • ditto there is voice like him x

  • Music is suppose to move you to the core of your sole. Jim Reeves music does this, I don't think the people who call them selves musicians today know this. Until the last couple of days and found this on youtube cannot remember the last song I heard that mad me feel like grabbing my husband and dancing around the house. It is so good to have that feeling again.

  • music today has changed lol

  • How right you are Lulubelle&Scottie sang this song and many others in 1943/44 on the B B C on Sunday afternoons from the CANADIAN BEAVER CLUB in London.Edmunde Hockridge also sang. I think he was in the R.C.A.F.

  • Just the best.

  • It can truly TRULY be said that "They don't write 'em and sing 'em like *that* any more."

  • I love listening to Jim's velvety voice,so soft.A great song that I love. Thank you J.T. for sending.Shirley

  • There never has been and there will never be another "Gentleman" Jim Reeves, what a voice.

  • Lovely

  • Like Elvis, Jim Reeves never sang any song badly, and this is a wonderful version of this great tune.

  • Who wrote this song? It's been repodused so many times by great singers over the ages and will continue to be sung again and again. That is the test of a great song writer. Who was it???

  • It was written by Scotty Wiseman. He and his wife (Lulubelle & Scotty) were popular on radio in the 30s. The story is that Lulubelle was in the hospital and when Scotty went to see her he was inspired to write this song.

  • One of the best versions ever sung by a male - simple and warm
