@RedSoxChic193 Partly to protect those he loves the most (or so he thinks), partly to attempt to deal with all the carnage floating around in his head all the time, and partly because he's had no parental example in his life that taught him any different. He was taught to believe that he was not good enough, and so undeserving of love from others.

It's a lot to fight against; you have to remember that Noah is a very young man still. I do not blame him for being messed up.

Obviously that's coming from his Father, but it's also coming from the cutural pressure to be straight that bombards us from all sides.

If I hadn't been keeping up with this story, I would NEVER guess that Luke and Noah aren't together in this scene. Luke is so gentle as he talks to Noah, opens up to him, reassures him that he is NOT like his father, nor does he have to be what his father wanted, or make up for the mistakes his father made. It's touching. And Noah breaks down and falls into Luke's arms.

Whatever is keeping them together at this moment will not last. It's evident that they still love each other very, very much.

Noah asked Luke to give him some space. Luke is refusing to do so. He won't leave Noah alone. He's being completely disrespectful of Noah's wishes and then blaming Noah for not being ready to talk. The whole reason Noah asked for space is because he doesn't know how he feels, he doesn't want to yell at Luke or blame Luke for stuff. He's scared and alone and grieving not just the "actual" death of his father but the fact that he never had the father he thought he had and he has no parents.
