  • omg I wish I could play this on windows 7 I would be so happy to relive this game again! But I don't think dos games work on w7 correct me if I'm wrong :S

  • @Neboh420 Install program called DosBox, you can then play all games flawlessly in windows, mac os or linux.

  • @ZelenoJabko Thanks champ!

  • Add dungeon map randomizer and make Mystic Towers 2 MMORPG.

  • Have seriously tried to find the name of this game for 12 years. THANK YOU APOGEE!

  • auauauugh my childhood

    my monster-fleeing, glowing-red-object-fearing childhood

  • Huh, I remember this being black and white for some reason...

  • oh man this brings me back.

  • can u explain please how to make this game work?

I got dosbox but I cant manage to play.

(I obviously got the game too)

  • I love this game.

  • As a kid I grew up with a large portion of my games being in a shareware compilations with games like Rise of the Triad and Hocus Pocus. After I remembered a few more games I realized that it was a compilation of Apogee games. Mystic Towers is a game I played a ton of but could never remember the name.

  • this game used to freak me out a bit...

  • Yay for isometric, but boo to the slow character.

  • Whoa, I'd never heard the sound track on this game because I used to play it without speakers (the computer I played it on didn't have them). Brings back happy memories :D

  • i was the master of that game in school everyone used to be jealous and get pissed cause i always kept it alive the longest till it took up almost the whole screen

  • i will tell you all a very rare game i doubt some of you have ever heard of its called wormy run i played it years ago in school on an apple computer the ones that take the big floppy disks it has caterpiller u eat food boxes and it gets real long and fast and you have to steer it around the screen without hitting yourself or the wall

  • It's true, we aussies love our DOS games

  • I was addicted to this game!!! I had the demo version, and it was still great! :) Miss this game :(

  • @ElizabethSwan120 Me too! :D

  • "which was never released outside of Australia"

Not entirely true. I owned the Amiga version, retitled "Baron Baldric: A Grave Adventure"

  • 03:55 mmmmmmmmm that wut im talkn bout nigga! skeet skeet skeet old mane!

  • i remember watching my older brother play this game and it confused the shit out of me. i played it recently though and got real into it.

  • Holy shit ! I remember this game, but I was 6 or 7, so i didn't understand that game !

  • lol i spent my childhood with this game :D

  • Where do u get that game for windows xp?

  • You don't, It's a DOS game, you need DOSBox to play it.

  • Lol it's herbert... the old pedofile from family guy ^^

  • Brings a tear to my eye...truly the greatest video gaming era.

  • Absolutely agreed! This, the Miggy/c64 and the SNES were the heights of videogaming, in my eyes. Screw graphics, gameplay is key - and games like this? They had gameplay in spades.

  • best fucking game. EVER. i just wish i could get the complete version somewhere

  • This game has one of the greatest theme songs ever. Almost as great as One Must Fall 2097's theme.

  • Oh yeah. Speaking of which, anyone have a link to a recording of it like in MP3 format? I suppose I could always record the WAV in DosBOX if not.

  • agreeed man! omf's theme was l33t!

  • Thanks buddy ! im downloading it I got it to play in VLC player and then I used a mp3 recorder to record the soundtracks to mp3 for the psp and stuff !!! woooooo!

  • me and my friends used to call this game "old man fart fart". We said it so many times that I had a hard time finding the game some years later lol.

  • I've been trying to remember the name of this game for at least 10 years!! Finally!!

  • Hahahaha i remember playing this and laughing at the guy because he was an old fart.

  • i remember this, and it contained MOD (tracker) music.

  • so how to d/l this is there a way to erxtract the music out of the games files or what artist/album to download...etc thanks i really want a midi or if possible mp3s of the title music/level musics

    thanks!

  • u can find the music here:

    mirsoft dot info

  • I remeber not liking this game but at the same time playing it all the time lol...i must have been in denial when i was younger lol

  • this is so brilliant

  • XD this game sooo scared the hell out of me when I was little.

  • awesome music !

  • if you think they were tedious, then you suck. Too bad you gotta miss out on the greatness of the great dos games.

  • A very imaginative game - it also scared me a lot as a kid!!

  • If anybody has the full version, could they PM me with a link?

  • I have the full game, Interested?

  • Sorry, I've got it now. Thanks anyway :)

  • does anyone know where you can find the mp3s of some of the songs in this game like espically the intro song is good and the first level song id like to have even though its long and slow.

I just got this running on xp with dosbox today! havent played it since 1999 with like hundreads of dos games on my LAST 486dx 100 computer that I had built. Unfortunately that had to get thrown out sometime for a pentium and windows 98. :(

  • I have the songs of the 1st and 2nd tower. I can send them over ^^

  • The animations were so smooth in this game.

  • I remember this game! Man, was the music great... although the control scheme was initially awkward because everything was "tilted" (rotated?) a bit. And he moved a bit too clunkily sometimes (or that was just my impatience at his slow movements).

    Still, tons of fun.

  • I know exactly what you mean, the movement was diagonal to give a 3D impression, weird to get your head round at first :) Still, what a game, and gotta love the nostalgia-inducing music.

  • The word you're looking for is "isometric" :)

Awesome game back in the good ol' DOS days.

  • I still have this game... ^^

  • Steven Baker made the music. Do you have more of his music in some other game or do you know a game where he made the music like Mystic Towers?

  • I've maniged to finally get the full game of the net took me 2 days of searching and the other levels a incredibly hard

  • Man... I remember playing this like 10 years ago, when my dad used to work for apogee. Except, I only played the demo, and I sucked at it :P

  • @goatsrule13 nice ur daddy wrkd 4 apogee

  • @JPalto Yeah, he used to get us floppy disks (Yes, those ancient squares of plastic) with notorious Apogee games like Commander Keen, Hocus Pocus, Crystal Caves, etc.

  • Cool. I got the same thang.

  • @goatsrule13 Hah, i live in Garland, where Apogee is based. When we'd order software, it'd arrive like, the next day.

  • I always wanted to play this since seeing pics of it in 1994 in toys r us and magazines(i think)

  • HAHA this is amazing so many years ago i played this! im from england btw! why does he go mental when you drink to much? i thought it was cos he was pissed!

  • FINALLY AFTER A long time of searching...! I remember this game when i was like 5. Oh My shit so many emmmeroies

  • I remember this game! Yeah, running out of food and drink was a pain... and hitting the enemies since you had to move on a grid layout. It was still fun when you didn't have anything else to do. :P

  • I love the intro music, and the game's awesome, and at times really difficult.

  • Oh, i love this game, trought, hate to run out of food or water... wich happens every now and then.
