Do you also like Hip to be Square, if this is it and Once Upon a Time in New York City as well? i grew up in the 80's and early 90's as a kid and mid-late 90's as a teenager and those were the 2 best times to grow up as a kid and teen.
I've been checking youtube every couple months for this exact clip and finally!! it us here!! I love youtube!! This version of Heart of Rock and Roll on Letterman with the original "World's Most Dangerous Band" which at that time included Steve Jordan on drums. THANK YOU for uploading this!!!
I watched this at the time, and remember Paul Schafer made a sarcastic remark about the fact Lewis didn't bring his band to play with him. It would have been earlier in the show.
@kolst8406 Dunno why Paul would have said that. 6A in Rockefeller Plaza was a tiny studio. They couldn't have had The News playing without seeing the house band, and that would have been awkward. The Ed Sullivan theater is huge in comparison, so today, full rock bands can perform with Paul's band out of camera range. But when Dave was at NBC, his studio was a closet in comparison.
was that Matt Murphy on Guitar?

@surfocaster This is when Letterman's was fun to watch. It was more "underground" looking. Great memories.

If I remember correctly this was to promote the madison square garden show ( explaining huey) and Johnny's solo career which never took off..

What, no Bill, Mario, Sean, Chris or me? Sounds cool though. Love the cheesy keyboards.

@MegaObserver1 I could be wrong, of course, but that's the unmistakable impression I was left with. I wish someone would post the entire show.
