  • In the nicest possible way, very talented man but thats just noise

  • I like Perlmans and Vengerov's, Come at me Bro?

  • Excellent! =) He has dynamic expressions, but Itzhak Perlman is exacter than his execution.

  • cel mai tare

  • He looks like David Byrne.

  • Vengarov haters are delusional anti social nut sacks.

  • Music isn't a competition retards

  • Nice facial expression!!!! XD

  • wow!

  • He LOOKS like a Goblin....

  • it is terrible sloppy and he looks like he was shoved a dildo in his ass

  • i like him anway

  • Check out the Francescatti video of this... It blows every other recording away.

  • hes pretty impressive, but yes I agree perlman would have him for breakfast.

  • It's too bad that there's only an excerpt posted of this performance, because technically, it's very sound (with just a few mishaps), and the expression is....well, I've never seen someone have so much fun playing this. Vengerov's enjoyment certainly carried into his sound. I don't think it's fair to judge this against full performances, just because we can't see much of the piece.

  • perlman plays better by far...

  • IN MY OPINION, Vengerov's technique never behinds Heifetz's and I think he has better expression further... bravo ~

  • I love how the pianist's moving at 0:46 - cute! :)

And yeah, Perlman may be better, but - what an amazing performance. On this level it's arguing about purely personal preferences of style, because from a technical point of view, who's to argue?

  • hahaha he LOOKS like a little goblin.

  • Amazing playing, best left hand pizz ever, makes it look easy as hell, but then spoils it by looking like a freakish clown as usual.

  • is he having a stroke at 1:04 ?

  • Guys, every musician has their own style.they are both very good violinists. it only depends on the listener's preference.

  • maxim vengerov very bad..........perlman very good

  • this is the only one have potential to play like Jascha Heifetz on Paganini Caprice No. 24 but indeed heifetz has a better interpretation of music

  • that pizz is just so clean!

  • Just got reminded of how bad I suck at violin. Oh well.

  • Bazzini had imagination .Must find more. Vengerov is so sexy and surely one of my fave living. He,Hahn and Joshua that Russian lady who won Tchai .there are so many great violinists now.but he is special!

  • i will not believe that the guy who wrote this is not pagannini

  • 1:07 WTF

  • I know how to play the music but not that good as him.. i have to keep practing though! he's very good..

  • He looks like a goblin :LOLOL!

  • He allows the bow to bounce too far off the string reducing the quality of sound. His silly facial expressions detract from the performance. Talented but over-rated violinist.

  • i had to close my computer moniter to be able to watch this video without being distracted by his facial expressions.....

but great music!! I like this verson better than perlman's for some reason...

  • his pizzicato is the best i have ever heard of any interpretation by a MILE!!! People can mock him as much as they want about his grimaces and everything but he is a genuine musician and an incredible technician, no doubt about it.

  • @Bachismydiety I love Vengerov, but Vasa Prihoda's left hand pizzicato ( end section) is faster, crisper, and much more distinct.

  • @shiveringflower thank you, I've not come across his playing before, ok fair enough, crisper and more precise yes but it doesn't ring as much as vengerov!

  • @Bachismydiety The audio only version that is - the filmed version is strangely slow.

  • what an incredible pizzicato !!!! my lord ......

  • The eyebrows.

  • Ask Perlman who was the greatest, and he'll tell you Heifetz, and I believe Perlman is second!!!!

  • The difference between Perlman and Vengorov is the smile, Perlman is playing and smiling at the same time, Vengorov is trying to force a smile but has too much tension on his face, Perlman wins..... but they are both great!!!

  • sounds like shit compared to perlman.

  • Horrid...nothing i'd wish to record.

  • I do believe perlman is better, but i just love Vengerov's way of playing music, he's amazing, gotta say i do like him better than Perlman but thats just personal preference

  • I like the clarinet version more, as done by Robert Springs

  • amazing!

  • this is AMAZING! :)

  • he may not be as good as others but his facial expressions are priceless, hes one of the less serious violinist even though he tries to be serious

  • this song sounds like it would fit real well into a scene from "Tom & Jerry"

  • Perlman slaps this chump down any day

  • perlman is perlman

  • @rwcmarco haha its funny cause neither u or JClayCast have the right to say who is better. They all play it differently whether its vengrov, perlman or garrett so shut up lol u dont know anything and are probably 10 year old kids who dont know anything

  • @rwcmarco either way i sure cant do it lol

  • O-O

  • he is the best!!!!

  • naaww, Itzahk Perlman still wins. :)

  • @JClayCast

Don’t be ridiculous, music it’s not sport; you can’t say “someone win”

He’s good enough to play it and he has his own interpretation.

  • @Mirorn4 It's very easy to call it a sport if there's a competition. But I don't judge based on who I like more - I base it on their interpretation (how realistic to composer's ideals) and how well they perform. Sure he's good, in fact he's very good, but Perlman plays, imo, better.

Besides, it's my opinion - just cause I think Perlman performs with much greater skill and accuracy doesn't mean you have to agree with that. :)

  • @JClayCast for sure

  • The best at what???

  • not hate but, tiene algo como incomodo

  • absolute and perfect control of the violin.

  • jesus christ! that is proper sick at the end!! mental player! LOVE HIM!

  • his face is amazing

  • perlman kicks his ass anyday

  • You are wrong.Vengerov's pizzicato owns Perlman's in anyday.

  • i absolutely agree with you!

  • not a chance.

  • Perlman rules!

  • @Wangan22 I think Vengerov better than Perlman...

  • @Violinist0222 Agreed, different styles but Vengerov is much more exciting.

  • agree, vengerov just make me still attentive in the hole song, in all his songs

  • Perfect!!!!!!

  • lol i agree

  • to good for words

  • Comment removed

  • wow man, that's incredible!

  • somehow he reminds me of heifetz, although with considerably more enthusiasm

  • Just heard Yehudi's...just phenominal...

  • awesome!!!

  • 0:56.. amazing

  • Absolutely.

  • @nertin123 dang that so incredible!

  • Prihoda's 1924 recording is much much better than this decidedly average performance.

  • vengerov is to awesome that you can know that art of playing he has...^^

  • Vengerov is king...Perlmans a bit of robot...

  • Amazing song, amazing talent.

But this guys face enrages me.

  • to me it shows how much he's trying and caring about the piece

  • Perlman did a lot better, this guy just takes the musicality out of the song.

  • I agree

  • Okay, after seeing Perlman's take on it, this guy does better Pizzicato. :U

Perlman's a master of staccatto though.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!

  • Perlman >

Plus I don't like this guys face. :D

  • You're right - Perlman's better.

But still, he can play it, and I can't--not yet, anyway. =P

  • Perlman might be better, but Vengerov has a long way to go... and I like his expressions and the enthusiasm that you can feel in every single note.

  • how old is Vegerov...he cant be much older than 40 is he?

  • he is 35, born 8/20/74

  • i dont think perlmans better at all haha

  • @VampireCrovax And in his face;)

  • People can hate on him, but hes pretty much untouchable. You think he gives a fuck what some mediocre violinists think? Hes rich bitch!!

  • 0:16's in the wrong key lol. but good nevertheless, I would like perlman's better.

  • dude its not the wrong key, there was actually a key change on that part of the song

i know what youre thinking of, but yea it was actually correct

  • Hmph. >_> It must be two different variations, because in all of the other videos, the noticeable note (I'm not taking the trouble to figure out what note it is)) is supposed to be a flat, not a sharp.

  • He truly enjoys it! :)

  • I don't like perlman's pizzicato as much as Maxim's :)

  • Funny about Perlman having said somewhere that he has great fingers for any instrument EXCEPT the violin. At the end here, the left hand pizzicato is played better by Vengerov because his fingers are not so pudgy! As to the rest of it--well, Perlman is Perlman!

  • I prefer Perlmans version...

  • pizza- $18.99, car- $20,000, facial expression- priceless

  • GAY!

    Well played though.

  • It was a little sloppy... and not as long as the original...

  • NOW THATS WHAT I CALL TALENT!!!

  • SOU MAIS O PERLMAN !!!!!!

  • he look so please with himself lol

  • LOL yep!

  • He moves just as much as he needs. Sitting in the audience it is entertaining, but refrain from too much movement or sick movement. ;)

  • Holy mother of god what is he doing

  • HOLY SHIT!!! 0:57-0:59 i dunno whether its him of rhe violin...

  • left-hand-pizzicato, but played a tad too fast to be effective

  • musicians shoudl reframe from moving too much, i know its expression, but it also brings upon myriads of problems

  • i agree.

  • He is GENIUS. Period.

  • utter clown this vengerov.

  • you are a douchebag

  • who are you talking to?

  • omfg how did he pull that pizzicato off it looks like hes not even touching the string

  • I KNOW!

  • his using his nails.

  • remix

  • i wonder if his body was a bit more still if he would actually get a prettier more solid sound out of his him. it seems like he is moving around so much that the contact point between his bow and instrument suffers sometimes making it weak. but yeah i mean the guy is good...you can't say he isn't.

  • Maybe so, but I think his body movement is what his playing so emotional. He really knows how to connect his emotion to the audience.

  • his facial expressions are utterly amusing.

  • he looks like someone just shuvd a dildo up his arse

  • lmao

  • lol

  • His playing is affected by his movements - they are too erratic and wide. The string-plucking is categorized by fine, accentuated melody that resonates each chord - what Vengerov does instead resembles plucking feathers from a duck (very disappointing). He is talented, but only a very dim shadow at the feet of Perlman. Want passion and a true genius playing La Ronde des Lutins? Search youtube search "Perlman" - THAT is GODLY talent.

  • i don't know

have you seen his music video for this>???

  • yes...

that IS the difference between a studied Russian-Jeweeisch and an Born Talent hungarian

    jipsy....but BOTH are great !!!

  • Eh.... mediocre at best. And heavily abbreviated.

  • i doooooooooooont like him!

  • I can buy all his CDs but never a video, to see him is stressful.

  • HE'S AMAZING!

  • omg he looks like that mega million commerical thing guy ahaha.

  • vengerov is pos.

  • he is good but i hate his faces he makes

  • he IS the dancing goblin... lol. although marvelous

  • best performance of this piece imo.. such feeling

  • awesome!!!

  • the bow bouncing was so cool xD

  • hes not that young hes like 30 lol i no its young for a violinist but still lolz i really like this piece tho

  • There aren't too many violinst in my opinion that are better than Maxim Vengerov. He is so young but is already one of the greats. This piece always stuns me every time I see it.

  • Very Creative !

  • He's very motional!! I give 5 stars

  • this man can play!!! oh man, i can only do that in my dreams, lol. this has really inspired me to catch up on my violin playing.

  • That's the idea! Never give up! "You've to train really hard!", as Vengerov says.

  • This is so amazing, and he's still so young. I just hope he doesn't burn out. Otherwise I can't wait to see what he will be like when he gets older.

  • this dude is truely amazing

  • This is, by the way, the song played in an episode of futurama between the robot devil and fry.

  • Maxim rules!! (H)

  • This man has crazy faces! He's so funny! lol

  • Perlman plays much better!

  • That´s just your point of view. In my opinion, there´s no one like Vengerov.

I mean, Perlman is one of the greatest violinist of the world, but.. how old is he? does he play with his soul, as much as Vengerov does?

I´d like to read your words..
