  • She said "God please let it stop, then God said "just 20 more feet and I'll be good"

  • did dog survive

  • did the dog survive

  • And for idiots like this SAR workers have to put there life on the line.

When officials tell you to evacuate you simply evacuate !!

Don't start asking questions, don't second guess, simply follow the orders/advise and don't make their life difficult.

If the hurricane happens to miss your city, don't start blaming officials, just be happy that your house is still standing.

Never understood why people to ride out a hurricane when they don't have to.

  • i hate to sound like an asshole but if you have a Cat. 5 Hurricane coming towards you, the most reasonable thing to do is get off its path so if you stay for what ever reason you damn well deserve what ever happens to you. If you didn't had a way to leave then make one, the safety of our families have to be the first thing on your mind im sure i would even have left New Orleans on foot if i lived there.

  • @Ev0MR9

The bad thing is thot people that live in Chalmette know better. They are in the lowest area and this wasnt the first time this has happend. I bet they leave next time.

  • That's why I got the f out 2 days before landfall.

  • R THESE PEOPLE ALIVE :'( IM CRYING OVR HEREE

  • Levees blown by the Illuminati

  • please tell me u guys are alive

  • What the hell does islam have to do with this?

  • I'm sorry but you did not make a mistake staying in your home. Don't you ever think that! Nobody could know it would be so bad.

  • @Gehenna71 Bullshit. Everybody knew a category 5 hurricane was on the way. What the hell do you think that means?

  • @Gehenna71

Yes it was a mistake and yes they did know. History has shown that this would happen.

  • Did the dog make it?

  • Oh my! God bless yall!!

    :/

  • @islamguidedotcom Thank you for sharing this with the rest of the world. It is hard to understand the true devastation that Katrina caused if one was not a victim of it. This is simply unbelievable. I am glad that you and your wife made it out safely. The USA let the victims of this storm down. We can send billions of dollars of aid to natural disaster victims in Haiti and Thailand, but we can't even help our own people on our own soil. This was a disgrace.

  • They had real NERVE comparing Irene to this!

  • @maureen1002 They didn't compare this to Irene, they are comparing hurricane Katia to this. If it makes landfall. Maybe worse.

  • thats why u shouldn't stay in an area that is in DANGER of hurricane!!

  • i mean this really sucks but seriously, why didnt you paddle out. the storm surge couldnt have been more than 5 or ten miles in.

  • The guy sums the whole thing up when he says, "I've made some mistakes, but this is my worst. By staying here" Hope he survived and has his life back together. But the next time, LEAVE when a Cat. 5 is coming at you.

  • why would u take a vid in a hurricane and were did the dog go

  • paddle your way out of there u dumbfucks...these r the types of dumbasses that wouldn't have survived anything worse.....ur not always going to be saved.

  • how do you get on your roof!

  • It's almost the anniversary. I still get teary watching these videos. I'm so glad I convinced my grandparents to evacuate last minute from the Kiln.

  • Hey Americans,

I'm British and the last time a hurricane blew in to the south of England was 1982 and there wasn't any water either... I feel so sorry for all the people that lost there homes and lives to a hurricane named after my cousin! The Americans are our cousins! We've got their back and they've got ours! In the war they got involved and helped us and when they got in trouble we helped them! I would like to say thank you America.

  • Damn that's fucked up..

  • I am so sorry this happened to you.

  • damn surprise ending. i though he was black this whole time. thats just how i saw it in my head

  • @snoochyboochy89 that,s just how we talk in da parish

  • If I could have gotten to a boat like he said he did, I would get in the boat, pack what ever supplies remained, and use two wooden planks to row away.

  • if you know what has happened to the dog please tell us and for the guy who made this i hope you and your wife/girlfriend are doing well

  • this is soooo sad.....

  • If there was any city that needed a bath, it was new orleans.

  • @latinoandprowd u need prayer hunni

  • @butifull1982 lol, o its just a joke, me saying that wont affect anybody.

  • @latinoandprowd Thats strange to say

  • just had a vaca in new orleans, awesome city, poor people for what they went thru

  • @07068287 I'm from there. The Hurricane was a lifesaver. If you knew - or cared - about what went on in that city before the storm you would understand where I am coming from and commiserate with what I am saying and, no, getting drunk down there as well as watching "Treme" does not count as experience.

There is more to life than just getting drunk at people's expense. There is quality of life.

  • @07068287 I am from there and that storm was a blessing. If you knew what went on in that city before the storm, if you are from there, then you would understand or at least commiserate. And, no, visiting down there and getting drunk at the expense of our quality of life as well as the show "Treme" does not count as experience.

Getting drunk is not the only thing that matters in life. Quality of life matters too. Think about it.

  • @HappyHooker83 U think a natural disaster targets a place because of its activities? I am against all immoralities if thats where you are coming from but Hurricanes usually start from Cape Verde goes through the Caribbean and finish in the south of this country. It don't pick a place to punish that 'sreligious bullshit.

If any country on the 'Ring of Fire" is destroyed will you stand by the same philosophy? The poor engineering of the levees would be a more likely reasons for the destruction

  • What happened to Hop?

  • WHY DIDN'T YOU PEOPLE LEAVE??

  • I'm so sorry u guys had to endure this... Hope your life is back up running...

  • "ON THE FUCKING TOILET DOING A SHIT AND NO GIVING A FUCK."

ON THE FUCKING TOILET DOING A SHIT

    TOILET DOING A SHIT

    DOING A SHIT

  • SHIT SHIT SHIT...THIS REMINDS ME OF THE SEPT 2009 ONDOY FLOOD!!!! SHIT SHIT!!! IM ONE OF THE FLOOD VICTIMS!!!! SHIT! I HATE THAT.....

  • i wanted to cry when i saw the dog trying to get up on the table

  • Where the fuck is Bush when you need him??

ON THE FUCKING TOILET DOING A SHIT AND NO GIVING A FUCK.

  • Godbless that dogg.

    poor poor dog.

  • @eeyk1993

care more for the dog? So many people died!

    Godbless those people

    poor poor people

  • @SenoraFlowerLollypop Why do you feel the need to compare dogs to people? Why do weirdos do this?! Obviously everyone cares about the people too, but the dog is helpless, that's why everyone is asking. Geez.

  • @lisalrocks

    need some midol?

  • Did you eat the fiberglass insulation from the attic when you were hungry??

  • Oh lawd! It habs gone from dee floor to dee roofus!!

  • Katrina fue la forma de Dios limpiar un poco de negros el planeta. Esa pestilencia que tenian en la ciudad era insoportable. Ahora estan regados por todas partes. Siguen siendo odiados, pero molestan menos separados que juntos...

  • incredible, thank you for posting this, I hope you are all doing well (including the dog) no thanks to Bush and Co.

  • @itkapatanka and bush made the hurrican come to shore right? that means obama made the tsunamis the earthquakes and every single soldier die in the war too

  • so devastating, so very sad what happened there. I literally cried watching this. God bless you all.

  • srry about what happened looks awful

  • Is the dog ok? I really wanted to know and it must've been horrible for you.And again is the dog ok i just want to know because i'm just a animal lover

  • What happened to this country? So many people who don't give a damn about anybody but themselves with some of these hateful comments. Peace to this family and to New Orleans and all those who perished in something nobody ever could have predicted.

  • Is the dog ok? Probably not... but still, I'm glad you survived! D: This was a horrible event, and hearing you say the others were howling for help, I felt so terrible. Im so sorry this happened, God bless you and your family and friends!

  • I was in Kenner when it happened, (Taking care of 60 clients left behind at Veteran's Small Animal) ... we got lucky the water only came up a few feet and the Nat'l guard was all over the place by Sept 6th. I'm so sorry about your dogs I know how they were forcing people to leave them behind!!!!!

  • lol@"grace of god"

    Silly christians.

  • @Vire70 Your a Dumbass!

  • Wow this is really scary to experience...glad you guys got out fine but sad to say there are some who didn't...you are very lucky!

  • Wow this is really scary to experience...glad you guys got out fine but sad to say there are some who didn't...you are very lucky!

  • WoW

  • well if all else fails ,,you can go fishing chief.

  • grew up a block from here....

  • did your dog make it through? how long did it take before you guys got rescued? and the people who were screaming, where they trapped or just trying to get help.

  • God Bless your family on this day 5 years later. My heart can barely take it what you went through.

  • Who let these motha fuckin snakes on this motha fuckin roof?!

  • How the hell did you get out of there??

  • does anyone knows how long it was before they got rescued???

  • Mayor Ray Nagin told everyone to GET OUT and he meant it. Yes, New Orleans was a man-made disaster that no one was prepared for.

  • @wdmj4 These guys are not in Orleans Parish.

  • i really want to know if the dog is ok :'(

  • @dogguy246 It was on tv last night in UK and it said both dogs survived and they still live there today:) I was worried about the dog too:( I kept imagining if it was my dog and what I would do:P xxx

  • @sweetiem13 Me to i couldnt imagine leaving my dog there, I'd go rite in and get them

  • "I'll never stay through another hurricane again." Poor choice, next time listen to the warnings.

  • i couldnt even imagine what it would be like to be in your situation, you seemed to stay so calm! so well done - i think that takes courage.

im so sorry for the loss of your house and neighbourhood.

  • I would not want to be in your situation at ALL!

  • Had the levees not breached, this would not have happened. So, some people had a reasonable expectation of safety from floodwaters if they were within the levee system. And they stayed. However, the levees BROKE.

  • this happened a few miles from my home, in st. bernard parish, i first saw this video at a local church. but i am looking at the web address above here (islamguidedotcom) WTF does stupid islam have to do with this video? Fvok islam!

  • @boinkz572 You could not be more ignorant.

  • I wonder what happened to the dog :(

  • @scruflesthegiraffe yes i cried when i saw the dog in the water and the owner couldnt help.

  • @scruflesthegiraffe 8:38, CG'S ALIIIIIVE!!! :D

  • @scruflesthegiraffe

    It's fucking dead.

  • @Cakerolled You're a dumb cunt, you know that?

  • @scruflesthegiraffe Ignore that moron hun!!!

  • @scruflesthegiraffe You can see the dog in the attic at 8:20. :)

  • I met a woman in a temp. shelter after Katrina who was just rocking back and forth. She too had lived in Chalmette, LA and the person she was with said the house took on water fast and reached the roof within minutes. She had floated out the window and laid with her face in the water and prayed, just waiting to die. Then someone in a boat plucked her out of the water.

I consider myself lucky although I lost 75% of my assets to Katrina....others lost lives, it is for them I still bleed for.

  • terrible...terrible terrible.

  • I worked there after the hurricane and this parish had a handfull of habitable houses I saw 3 all in Ysclowsky those people were prepared their homes were way above what the recommended heigth was they also had their generators ready elevated along with some sort of water supply those people were up and running despite all the water and near cat 5 winds. You have never seen disaster until you personally watched the aftermath of a storm surge.

  • Gog bless you and your family. I hope you your life is back togather now. i wish i could have gone to help. I tried to go but the police department I work for needed me here.

  • Wow hardly anyone evacuated! well since they didn't they got what was comming to them

  • @Codis998 Man fuck you pice of shit.

  • @Codis998 you are an idiot!

  • @Vambo1958 Yeah? and you you can't fucking prove it. At least I have a very clear reason to call you ignorant.

  • @Codis998 What a jerk you are. I hope you can soon experience what these people did.

  • @keeg021985 Uhm these people didn't do much so why would I have to experience it? Sorry try better next time and try to be more civil I don't want people spilling at me while eating their jelly doughnuts on that fat fucken arses.

  • @Codis998 Do yourself a favor: refrain from any further comments, because you are solidifying the perception that you are, indeed, a moron. You also can't spell, and you don't know how to punctuate. You're cleary childish, as well as apparently uneducated academically and practically.

  • @keeg021985 The fact in judging me on my grammer is way off the subject, it is utterly pointless to the fact that your country had failed to respond more and will fail more in through future disasters and economics. Besides I'm only 13 you should feel ashamed for even fighting with a kid that age . All I'm trying to do is put a point out there but the majority like you can only judge by their grammer. Such a shame but typical to you arrogant people. So do yourself a favour and restrain from this

  • @Codis998 I don't care if you're only 13. I recall when I was that age, and I had the same compassion I do now, and would never had made comments like you have. Since you obviously don't understand how inappropriate your comments are, I surmised that lambasting your poor writing skill might at least get your attention. Obviously, I was correct, since you're more concerned with that than with the unwarranted comments you made about these people. Perhaps you should seek counseling.

  • @keeg021985 My comments are not inapropriate they are trying to prove a point of truth. And do you know why I didnt comment like you when you were 13? It was because we are all diverse. I am not like you and I will never be like you as more than 6 billion people are too. So your countless attemps of retaliation using big words on a 13 year old making you feel like a tough guy isn't quite a bright idea you ass hole, and I have a right to call you that :) Go on say something pointless, I can'twait

  • @Codis998 duh! good point. who would be stupid enough to stay during a hurricane? especially if you're in New Orleans. I mean come on! New Orleans is below sea level....pure stupidity to stay when you have a huge hurricane coming your way..

  • @Codis998 wow your a fucking douche. i can only pray that what happened to us happens to you.

  • I'm sorry un-faithless and desperate fuck faces like your self can only stay in homes while acknowledging that there is A MIGHTY FUCKING HURRICANE ON IT'S WAY but ignore the warnings and then it comes down on you! You sir is what I call plain stupidity but the typical dumb ass type. Now you prey the same happends to me which isn't going to happend because I know when to GET THE FUCK OUT OF THERE! You see, prey all you want but you'll soon find your one hell of a fucken MORON hahaha!

  • @Codis998 yea well i did stay for katrina but im above sea level. i have evacuated for gustav and i treat every storm as a threat no matter the category. sure i might lose my house and all my possesions but that doesnt run me off from what i call my home. im just gonna rebuild. i can guarentee you would do the same thing.

  • To the man that made this video,,,, You made history

  • Pour hop :(

  • I drove through New Orleans a few weeks ago. And I still don't think the US government has arrived there yet. Fucking bastards, leaving your own people to die.

  • That's what you get for building your house in a flood basin next to the Gulf Of Mexico. Idiots. What did you think was going to happen?

  • @FuckYouLetMeLogIn what would you do if this happened to you bro.

  • @FuckYouLetMeLogIn wow you need help. new orleans is one of the greatest places to live and no matter what happens i aint moving. besides no one expected the levees to break.

  • I am so sorry for these people they must have been terrified. This man is giving amazing commentary unlike I have ever seen or heard before. A really tragic situation unfolding while I am watching. I hope this family is okay. thank you for your footage.

  • proud to be a canadian? wtf who the fuck cares it was a natural disaster fuck face

  • @NickGTMAN We were there before you're government was.

  • God bless you and CJ

  • Sir hear it is 2010, The earthquake of Haiti has

me haunted with memory's of the katrina

disaster.. The things I find to be most disturbing? Are all the messages of hate! especially when it is racial or religious! All the suffering that people inflict on people! I dont care what color you are right now, who or what you pray to. You seem to be a good man. you could have been a neighbor? And i want you to live. I wish you peace. tearfully!

  • You did make a mistake by staying if you had the option to leave but everybody does things in their life that they wish they hadn't done so anybody who criticizes you is a hypocrite.I'm glad that you're alive and respect you for staying so calm when your life was in danger.

  • my dad stayed bak for this stormto help people sturricane Katrina is a storm i will never ever forgot for the rest of my life i was in biloxi in the 7th grade my homie hardy lost his mom n alotta my friends moved i went to atl n then came bak to baton rouge well after the storm n all i could do is watch the devastation..Bless This Family and many others who made as well as the ones who didnt

  • This is why u don't leave the bath water running

  • @Mikeferrari69

    and live below sea level

  • @biggcleve2

    LOVE YOU!

i never had to go through a natural disaster but i did 2 months of katrina relief work rebuilding the gulf coast in biloxi, so i kind of understand.

  • @forloveoffilm,

the nation didn't know that katrina was going to be a cat 3 until it was too late for most.

they were suggested to evacuate but it wasn't mandatory because it was speculated to be only strong winds and about 3-6 feet of flooding so people who had two story houses thought they were safe.

most people in east biloxi couldnt afford to evacuate.

by the time the storm watchers figured out that it was going to be as bad as it was, it was to late.

  • Yup big mistake yer right. Hope yall know how to swim.

  • You did Stand You're Ground.

    Until the Coast Guard came.

I know they got the dogs too... USCG is different, really!

  • Would someone, please, explain to me the thought process which would cause someone to not evacuate when suggested to? I hate to sound callous, but honestly, what even happened to those who stayed invited what happened to them, individually.

  • You don't take into account the emotional connection to ones home. Which may not be logical but it's a human instinct to protect your home.

  • people who dont have cars/ money to leave and pay for hotels cant evacuate

  • if you dont have the money you cant leave, i lived through hugo in sc.

there are some jobs that monitor storms hour by hour to even let you know if they will let you off.

could you leave your life at a moments notice. do you have a natural disaster fund. not trying to be smart but you asked

  • if you have a car and don't evacuate something like this you are stupid!!!!

  • people calling for help.and you stand there and tape the water,,,I couldnt do that, and not help those crying out..!

  • The knuckle-dragging morons who chose to stay got what they deserved

  • I hope the dog is alright because first the family's house is destroyed i dont think they will want to have another dissapointed.

  • looks like a zombie attack afterwards

  • God Bless this family, and I hope that the kids posting retarded comments on this video grow up very soon. I had to watch my hometown flood a few years before this and I would never want to see anybody ever go through something like that again

  • Unbelievable that our country;s leader at the time couldn't dispatch its resources to help many of these people in time. I got to see New Orleans in her glory in '97 and can't imagine what it's like now; although I hear it's getting better. God Bless.

  • New Orleans is Back and we are Better than Ever!!! GO SAINTS!!!!

    SUPER BOWL XLIV CHAMPIONS!!!!

    WHO DAT NATION!!!!!

THE BELOW SEA LEVEL CITY ARE THE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONS OF WORLD!!!

think about that all the ignorant people who have expressed their tiny brain negative comments - GO SAINTS!!!!!!

  • Lots of people tried to evacuate and couldn't. A lot of people didn't have the money or anywhere to go. And there have been a lot of hurricans that almost hit before so a lot of people didn't believe it was going to be as bad as it ended up. These people are strong and thank God they survived.

  • God bless them

  • Chalmette was my home :( 3325 Golden drive apt A

  • not trying to bring race into it, but I definitely thought this guy was black the whole time.

  • yah...you have like a few days warning, I would get my essentials and get the hell out of that area. But nice footage though.

  • every1 who stayed in new orleans when katrina hit.......stupid stupid stupid.

  • you show a clear ignorance of the situation

  • that's incredibly ignorant

  • FUCK YOU BRU!!!!

  • i hope i never see another catastrophic event like this even after 4 years it still hurts me

  • you arent really safe anywhere. its more like choosing a lesser evil.

the west is forest fires, earthquakes, mud slides and such, the middle is tornados, the south is hurricanes, north is blizzards. east...gets a little of everything i suppose. so yea. choose your evil. >__>

  • Why would anyone wanna ride out a hurricane, especially knowing you are under sea level and that you are NEXT TO THE SEA !!!!! Come on people! Do you have a death wish ?

  • I'm fairly certain you do not understand the circumstances of each individual who stayed.

Secondly, even if the whole city evacuated, those houses would all still be destroyed

  • His biggest mistake was buying a house in a fishbowl. He's the type of jackass that would say, "I'm gonna rebuild..."

  • Im a very proud canadian right about now i didnt know we made it there before the us military. Thats canada for you always reaching our hands out to help those in need!!1 Rich poor black white doesnt matter who you are everyone has the same color blood!! Most canadians are like that! I am so sorry you had to all go through this!!!

  • I should've said it was fucking shameful that the Canadians arrived before the US military.

    No offense intended.

  • @tee280 I'm Canadian too and I feel the same way as you. people here are selfless and will do anything to help others in need. I did live in East Texas for a few years and I moved back to Calgary, Alberta a few months before this disaster.....my heart goes out to anyone who was affected.

  • @tee280 there should be more people like you.

  • @tee280 See, this is why I want to go an live in Canada as soon as possible! All Canadians I know are proud of their country, therefore, Canada must be a really amazing country!

  • where's that speedboat i won on bullseye in the 80's.

  • i was in the lower ninth ward and everything this man is saying i went through, we had to wait for help while watching helicopters fly over us to get people out of St. bernard parish.....for those you live in new orleans can relate. i lived in the dome for five or six days, can't remember, all i know it was too long for anyone to wait.......i couldn't have been far from this. all i heard also was people yelling for help, hit hurts to talk about it....
