  • i will stick to my gas powered stuff. i have a motorized bike that goes 25 mph, and over 100mpg. and the kit was 200 bucks. can" beat the price, range, or power to weight of gas. cool though, will probably last long and no paying for gas

  • what voltage, what current?

  • if global warming was real then this would be great. i will stick with my supercharged seadoo that guzzles gas

  • 25 isnt fast, my gas kawi would smoke that any time

  • Water + electric = fail

  • i like it what type of batteries??

  • Looks more like a old snowmobile...

  • is this on the saskatchewan or saskatoon river? also --can you please tell me what engine you used and what hp output at a given rpm?

  • Is this prop or jet driven? You could make a lot more speed and efficiency with a prop.

  • @redbarronxxi It is a semi-ducted propellor. You are correct, a jet is too innefficient

  • @redbarronxxi and chop your dick off

  • I gotta small lake this would be fun on....how much are we talking on the price?

  • If its so electric, why do I hear a combustion engine?

  • @LakeHighiii not a combustion engine--really listen! its the gearing of the electric motor and the propwash.

  • home made????

  • it b great for children under 5! he must have one of those tyco rc motors in there lol fucking dooshbagg!

  • not cool...

  • 25 mph? fuck that pussy shit

  • stupid... who the hell wants to only ride an hour.. and only go 25 mph

  • = Fail

  • once you put out a electric jet ski that will out preform my gas jet ski. FOR THE SAME PRICE. then i will look into it.

  • When people realize the oil industry is happy to further the myth that "electric" equals slow. Electric vehicles have the potential to have higher speed/torque available to the user QUICKER. The problem is "economy of scale" or the first ones will always be more expensive, that's why I really hope Tesla electric sports cars succeed, and that leads to more inexpensive models!

  • jajaj looks like a 1989 Yamaha WRunner 500, there's something more annoying like that....the annoying Orange (H

    ___santee

  • this is an insult to jetskis....and jetskis are an insult to boats...nothing more annoying

  • looks to fast for me i will stick to my row boat. N.O.T

  • i bet that it is so pain in the ass to make a turn

  • sweet how many hp is the electric motor

  • im sorry but that is an insult to jet skis

  • @turfshredder and jet skis are an insult to boats

  • People need to understand the reason to make something like this is communal benefit, not selfish. 1gl of oil contaminates a million gl of water. Then there are the wars to get the oil. There is the noise that everyone else is subjected to for one persons play. It is not difficult to build it faster. Its just hideously expensive to build only ONE of them. Inconsiderate people will never understand, or maybe they do and that is why they discourage, to deny their prosophobia.

  • Good work mate. LiFe batteries, brushless engine and you will be laughing. With the jet ski is rpm more important, or is torque more important? Its going to be harder with the personal watercraft than a car...the car can reclaim electricity while you brake, i cant really see a way of doing that on water..any turbines you are running will just take more power to get moving anyways. I would love an old jet ski that i could try this with. The first gas PWC werent 110kph machines either.

  • Neat, but i think i will keep my 750 Kawasaki and my SeaDoo Xp. They both do about 55 and i can ride for about 4 hours when im "touring" and 3 riding hard. When I run out of gas 50 miles from my dock I can just refuel and head home.

  • How about you treehuggers make a FAST one, not a slow one.

  • Why dont YOU show us show us how to BUILD a "FAST ONE"!

  • @Randallpw because I run my jetskis on gas, not electric.

  • duck dive it,, i bet it would be SHOCKING to see what happens haha

  • to slow keep trying tree huggers

  • Sorry, but 25mph is not fast. My 40hp, 14ft aluminum boat goes faster than this and i can use it all weekend on 5 gallons of gas. A new, gas powered jet ski these days will run all day on one tank of gas and top out at 60+mph.

  • Fast but uggly!

  • hes ridding a shoe.

  • dude your comment had me on the floor laughing

  • This is fantastic. I am very curious to know motor and current specs as I am currently untertaking a similar project. Great job!!

  • I am really impressed with this design, as you know there is already an electric jet ski but it is Huge, as in a 3 people sit down ski. But I like yours, specially the weight. Have you seen stand up Jet skis? Do you think you can do something similar? You are almost there, just add a pole and shorten the tray some more.

    Kudos to you sir !!

  • Very impressive Rick. This is the exact genuine creativity I'm looking for with engineering. Thanks for the meeting today. I hope I can make the right choice now.

  • Very Cool electric ski. My wife said it looks like a big slipper! It has to start somewhere. The "haters" totally don't get the point. Electric doesn't perform? Have you seen the Tesla roadster? T-zero? Electric Ariel Atom? 200+ mile range and smokes Corvettes and Ferrari s in the quarter mile. Yes, they are expensive and experimental but I remember the first VCR's were like $900.00. Capacitors will replace batteries and they will charge in 5-10 minutes, weigh a fraction and last 10 years +

  • Yes, this is the attitude that will get things done and make this a seedo killer. Of course, the first few tries at new things will not be as good as the status quo. That's almost by definition. Given the advances that's going to happen in batteries in the next five years, this will be a good machine. As it is, it is fun and useful.

PS - it did not stall at 1:15. It works as described - I am an engineer and not given to wild claims.

  • Very nice PWC Im glad there are forward thinking persons like you .

  • @lordpeekaboo Isn't it funny how people that do not like your project are called "Haters" while the ones who agree have the "Right Attitude" LOL Sounds like a bunch of Liberals...Ha !

  • @lordpeekaboo Isn't it "Funny " How all the people that don't agree with "YOU" are now "Haters" and are "Just too stupid to get it " while all the people that do agree with you are full of so much insight and have the "Right Attitude" .....Lots of Liberal Key words there .....You really have drank a lot of the Koolaid. LOL This is a cool video though.

  • @stinkingdog101 ...Ist...No reason to be a douche. 2nd, I am a good red blooded gun toting conservative. I have 4 gas powered 2 stroke ultra-polluting jetskis. I also happen to know what I'm talking about. Do some research on electric vehicles and learn the significance of "Peak torque" from 0 rpms. Look at some electric go kart or dragster videos and tell me what fast is. Then consider that the current technologies for EV's is really in it'sinfancy. Electric is coming whether you agree or not.

  • @lordpeekaboo Stating the obvious is not being a Douche. Name calling is another thing that Liberals are well known for. Guess you are a bit miscatorgorized by your own ego. The electric jetski is a fine idea...the crap that is rolling out of your arrogant mid is not.

  • @stinkingdog101 NO, Commenting on posts that are a year old makes you a douche. I'm arrogant? Who give a Fock what you think? You better look up liberal too. I work for a living. A Hater is a a person that has to go along and make unnecessary random negative comments. Sound familiar? Now piss off.

  • @lordpeekaboo Ohhhh, did I hit a nerve there knucklehead. I don't think your definition of a Hater is correct. But you can go ahead and make up all the stupid definitions you want.....it isn't like anyone is going to call you to the carpet for making stupid remarks about a year old video. LOL Don't cry in front of the kids...it really gives them a complex ,LOL Vulgarity is a sign of an ignorant mind!

  • @lordpeekaboo finally some one who knows what they are talking about. vary well done.

  • this is really impressive. Its too bad people's views dont change about environmentally friendly technologies. Sweet ride and great effort!

  • "Its too bad people's views dont change about environmentally friendly technologies." That's because no one wants to drive a jet ski that only goes 25mph and needs to recharge after an hour. I'd rather have a jet ski that can do 20 foot backflips, top out at 50 mph and drive all day long.

  • as soon someone invent's a electric jetskiengine with the same power as a normal jetskiengine, and a battery tha't doesn't weigh more than a full tank of gass, and run for at least one hour at full trotle, and has affortable, exchangeable batteries so that you can ride a few hours without ''refueling'' at the lake, then i would be one of the first to buy one.

  • Or you could have said "as soon as pigs fly, I'll buy an electric jet ski."

  • fish will be happy, saudi's will aim to kill you, keep your eyes open for submarines, torpedo's and sneaky creeps that will try to patent what you made so you will never be able to do it again ... once you are out of prison
