About what pull does this reduce the trigger to? I would like to get a lighter pull, but I don't really want it down in the really low range for safety reasons.
THIS SPRING WILL REDUCE THE TRIGGER LBS FROM A RANGE OF 9LBS - 6LBS - DEPENDING ON HOW WELL THE GUN HAS BEEN BROKEN IN AND HOW GOOD ITS BEEN SANDED. THE MORE YOU SHOOT THE SMOOTHER THIS TRIGGER WILL GET.
I GET TO THE RANGE OFTEN AND SHOT WELL OVER 2000 ROUNDS THROUGH
AS FAR AS MY KNOWLEDGE, THIS IS THE ONLY THOROUGHLY TESTED SPRING.
Is the replacement spring stiff enough to reset the striker every time it recoils?? I've heard of problems with springs, but yours seems to function and just generally look right.....This is going to be my newest addition to the family next week, and I'll be looking to get one of your springs. Thanks so much for the great video!!!
I just did my trigger last night with thanks to your video and your spring. Thanks for the guide. I need to buy 2 more spring from you to do my friends SW9VE's.
I am glad you found the video and bought the spring. Nearly everyone who gets it feels the diffence immediately. Keep sanding those parts till you get them butter smooth, especially the one inside curve.
I just purchased this gun, and my question is, the gentlemen at the gun store informed me that with the S&W 40VE u have the option of switching out the 40cal barrel and and inserting a 9mm barrel to shoot both rounds from this same gun. Is this true, and if so, is it a particular 9mm barrel from Smith&Wesson... Thanks..
I did this this past weekend, sand the inside of the sear. Also the barrel just for the hell of it, and changed out the spring with a lighter spring but left the pig tail in..... and let me tell you WOW what a difference!!! Anybody w/ a sigma do this trigger mod fuck the other ones
maybe some one did it already with the Police marked SW40E that i just picked up today, its got the best double action pull i have ever felt. and yes that SW40E not VE.
I've done this same mod, and this is the type of mod that I recommend. I've seen other videos that remove the pigtail AND the outer spring and just left it like that. I can't recommend that method. I can only recommend this type of method that replaces the outer spring to prevent that small inner-spring from doubling over on itself.
Just finished the modification and what a difference! Very smooth action and about half the trigger pull of the unmodified gun. Great instructions. You said getting the pins back would be difficult (and they were a bitch!) but I finally got it done, The rest was a piece of cake.
Thanks for the help. I liked my Sigma but was considering getting rid of it because of the trigger. Now, it's a keeper!
As a gunsmith you told the procedure very well. For using sand paper I would tell your viewers start out at 320 and up to 600. For better results use india stones to ceramic stones, then polish with a buffer or fordem tool with flitz or Brownells 555
Nice video! I have a Sigma VE in .40 caliber. I saw this video and decided to try polishing the parts. I did not change the spring but used your video for taking it apart and putting it back together. I bought 2000 grain sandpaper at Autozone and polished all the metal pieces almost until they were chrome. I have seen a great improvement in the trigger action.
great job.. finally someone doing it right. Also you can sand the sides of your barrel and inside of the slide. Ive done a full sanding and polishing on mine and it works awesome. Where the barrel goes thru the slide sand that as well. Now if you want a very light trigger pull you will have to replace the firing pin spring
@mtridgee11 feedbacks awesome, but I have also polished every contact point unside my 9ve, and took out the pigtail spring. the trigger is super smooth now, but still pretty heavy. but im happy with it now and can shoot very well the way it is...im just curious if youve actually measured before and after, before you stated the trigger pull weight on your ebay...if so do it again and lets see it....
Thank you for this vid. I watched some others first and some were absolute jokes. I did everything you said to in this video(besides buying the spring from you, I found my own)and while the trigger isn't a ton lighter it is WAY smoother. I not only sanded the parts down, I wet sanded using 400, 1000, 2000 grit sand paper and then polished the parts and the pull is amazingly smooth. Thanks again!
i am very glad i bought your spring and saw this video on the same page. as soon as i get it i will start the mod. this is going to be my SHTF gun at home. i have been using my kimber 45 but wanted more rounds and the sigma 9 was on sale for $300.
That outer spring is there to put tension on the trigger and keep the inner spring in place> From what I gathered, if you take out the spring and don't replace it with another, There is a high probability that the small, thinner inner spring will either get knocked loose or not reset the trigger after firing> I would not suggest leaving it with only one spring

Also is there any other way of paying than paypal? I prefer not to sign up with a company that doesn't support 2nd amendment rights.
