  • About what pull does this reduce the trigger to? I would like to get a lighter pull, but I don't really want it down in the really low range for safety reasons.

  • @xmtrdude

THANK YOU TO ALL THAT HAVE WATCHED THIS VIDEO.

THIS SPRING WILL REDUCE THE TRIGGER LBS FROM A RANGE OF 9LBS - 6LBS - DEPENDING ON HOW WELL THE GUN HAS BEEN BROKEN IN AND HOW GOOD ITS BEEN SANDED. THE MORE YOU SHOOT THE SMOOTHER THIS TRIGGER WILL GET.

I GET TO THE RANGE OFTEN AND SHOT WELL OVER 2000 ROUNDS THROUGH

AS FAR AS MY KNOWLEDGE, THIS IS THE ONLY THOROUGHLY TESTED SPRING.

NO FTF OR FTL LIKE OTHER UNRELIABLE SPRINGS.

  • Is the replacement spring stiff enough to reset the striker every time it recoils?? I've heard of problems with springs, but yours seems to function and just generally look right.....This is going to be my newest addition to the family next week, and I'll be looking to get one of your springs. Thanks so much for the great video!!!

  • Also is there any other way of paying than paypal? I prefer not to sign up with a company that doesn't support 2nd amendment rights.

  • Is that spring you replaced the trigger spring or the striker spring?

  • i wonder what happens if you only remove the pigtail?

  • excellent video. thanks

  • Best Video ever thanks a million

  • I just did my trigger last night with thanks to your video and your spring. Thanks for the guide. I need to buy 2 more spring from you to do my friends SW9VE's.

  • @CenterpointConnect

    Hi,

Please click on the link above.

I am glad you found the video and bought the spring. Nearly everyone who gets it feels the diffence immediately. Keep sanding those parts till you get them butter smooth, especially the one inside curve.

  • @mtridgee11

Yes, i had my sander disk on and polished it up nice. Very pleased. Going to a friends house this weekend to test fire it.

  • Holy shit, sounds just like Packie from GTA IV.

  • Works great, thanks.

  • I just purchased this gun, and my question is, the gentlemen at the gun store informed me that with the S&W 40VE u have the option of switching out the 40cal barrel and and inserting a 9mm barrel to shoot both rounds from this same gun. Is this true, and if so, is it a particular 9mm barrel from Smith&Wesson... Thanks..

  • Great video!!! Very detailed. I will be doing this asap!!!

  • The ebay link doesnt work. Please tell us ur ebay id or post a working link.

  • What's your eBay Id so I can buy one from you

  • @beermanpabst Please see the link in the description

  • Is the link not working or is it just my comp?

  • @beermanpabst

If the link does not work for you please go to ebay.com then enter 110794582354 into the search bar.

  • I did this this past weekend, sand the inside of the sear. Also the barrel just for the hell of it, and changed out the spring with a lighter spring but left the pig tail in..... and let me tell you WOW what a difference!!! Anybody w/ a sigma do this trigger mod fuck the other ones

  • maybe some one did it already with the Police marked SW40E that i just picked up today, its got the best double action pull i have ever felt. and yes that SW40E not VE.

  • I've done this same mod, and this is the type of mod that I recommend. I've seen other videos that remove the pigtail AND the outer spring and just left it like that. I can't recommend that method. I can only recommend this type of method that replaces the outer spring to prevent that small inner-spring from doubling over on itself.

  • Link to eBay is dead do you have another link ?

  • The pins I need to remove are "staked" in

by what looks like a punch.from the factory.

    Seen this?

  • If I just remove the pig tail will the trigger pull be reduced?

  • @Michael117american

No, The spring needs to be changed

  • I'm a believer...

Just finished the modification and what a difference! Very smooth action and about half the trigger pull of the unmodified gun. Great instructions. You said getting the pins back would be difficult (and they were a bitch!) but I finally got it done, The rest was a piece of cake.

Thanks for the help. I liked my Sigma but was considering getting rid of it because of the trigger. Now, it's a keeper!

    Thanks again.

  • @Mycroftsbrother

Its amazing how this mod changes the entire feel for he gun! Glad to help, TY

  • This the best mod video I have seen. You discribed everything flawlessly. Thanks!

  • As a gunsmith you told the procedure very well. For using sand paper I would tell your viewers start out at 320 and up to 600. For better results use india stones to ceramic stones, then polish with a buffer or fordem tool with flitz or Brownells 555

  • THANKS FOR TH VIDEO!!!!! I MANAGED TO DO IT MYSELF. READY TO TAKE THIS ACCURATE SMOOTH GUN BACK TO THE RANGE

  • Many thanks for this vid. I am going to purchase the spring today!

  • what grit sandpaper did u use for sanding?

  • @sfvirgo I would recommend starting at 320 to 600

  • Nice video! I have a Sigma VE in .40 caliber. I saw this video and decided to try polishing the parts. I did not change the spring but used your video for taking it apart and putting it back together. I bought 2000 grain sandpaper at Autozone and polished all the metal pieces almost until they were chrome. I have seen a great improvement in the trigger action.

  • great job.. finally someone doing it right. Also you can sand the sides of your barrel and inside of the slide. Ive done a full sanding and polishing on mine and it works awesome. Where the barrel goes thru the slide sand that as well. Now if you want a very light trigger pull you will have to replace the firing pin spring

  • @youshoodjump

Please see the feedback for the spring> Everyone sold has come back with great Feedback with this spring>

  • @mtridgee11 feedbacks awesome, but I have also polished every contact point unside my 9ve, and took out the pigtail spring. the trigger is super smooth now, but still pretty heavy. but im happy with it now and can shoot very well the way it is...im just curious if youve actually measured before and after, before you stated the trigger pull weight on your ebay...if so do it again and lets see it....

  • Thank you for this vid. I watched some others first and some were absolute jokes. I did everything you said to in this video(besides buying the spring from you, I found my own)and while the trigger isn't a ton lighter it is WAY smoother. I not only sanded the parts down, I wet sanded using 400, 1000, 2000 grit sand paper and then polished the parts and the pull is amazingly smooth. Thanks again!

  • I want to be sure. . . If I only remove pigtail, it will reduce the lbs on the pull but still be safe.

  • i havent tried sanding down to parts yet but the spring made a huge different, no more hand fatigue while im at the range lol

  • @joelongnecker

Thank you! I tried to be as specific as possible, much appreciated & I'm glad I could help

  • i am very glad i bought your spring and saw this video on the same page. as soon as i get it i will start the mod. this is going to be my SHTF gun at home. i have been using my kimber 45 but wanted more rounds and the sigma 9 was on sale for $300.

  • @3Skitz1Production3

That outer spring is there to put tension on the trigger and keep the inner spring in place> From what I gathered, if you take out the spring and don't replace it with another, There is a high probability that the small, thinner inner spring will either get knocked loose or not reset the trigger after firing> I would not suggest leaving it with only one spring

  • where do i get the replacment spring

  • @trevorthompson6

click on the site below> or ebay search "sw40ve trigger spring"

  • I ordered the spring via your ebay site. With this video, I made the mod in less than 10 minutes.

  • This is the most helpful video if found on fixing the sigma trigger. Well done and thanks for your help man!

  • might need too tap a little with a hammer ...mine was a little rough getting out when i did my trigger job .

  • @mhayes0912

you are right, some of the pins will need a little more persuasion, light hammer taps will do just fine

    thank you
