I used to have this movie on vhs, watched it so many times I cant count, always loved this movie. Always made me think of a simple time gone when seeing the neighborhood, the milkmen, the houses and cars, things that just aren't anymore. Yeah great music too.
this song constantly pops into my head without any warning. of course when i want to recall it i cannot. go figure! i heart this movie! if you guys are big Jack Lemon fans check out Under the Yum Yum Tree lol
I just bought the Jack Lemmon Film Collection which contained this movie, and I absolutely loved it. I'm only fifteen years old, and even I know that they don't make movies like they used to. <3
....this was the FILM that started my love affair with the movies.....1964, I was 6...saw it at EVERGREEN PLAZA in CHICAGO and I was never the SAME!!!
I'd love to see the closing credits of Good Neighbor Sam which reveals the artistic contraption which was in Sam's back yard. The theme song is light hearted, fun, and enjoyable.
I wish someone would post the scene where they're pitching the Nurdlinger egg commercial to Edward G. Robinson. A group of lecherous "yes" men led by a fabulous Edward Andrews as the buffoon head of the ad agency desperate to please an important client.
"After seeing that I'm going to have eggs for lunch!"
I remember staying up late one night with my mom, watching this movie. We woke my dad up we were laughing so hard. I wish they would release this! Another one I loved, I wish they'd release is Who's Minding the Mint?
That's funny, I loved this movie & Who's Minding the Mint too! (Jim Hutton.) How about If It's Tuesday, This Must Be Belgium? I loved all those funny movies. In the days before VHS, we had to just wait for them to show up on the t.v!
i cant believe the opening of this movie concentrates so much on jack lemon, and almost completly ignores the gorgous dorthony provine.she drove us then young men wild back then, and if we had a foot fetish,we always wished we would have been able to smell her feet.
There was one thing missing from this opening sequence...the Columbia Pictures logo. When I first saw this on TV in the 1980s, this movie had an extremely rare Columbia Pictures logo where we see the familiar torch lady without any text, fading into the text saying "COLUMBIA PICTURES", if that's right, eh?
I haven't seen this since I saw it in the local movie theatre in 1964. I was ten at the time. Love this opening credits with the wonderful movie music style of the day. Thank you.
Jack Lemmon is the greatest American actor ever. He's capable to act in comedies and in tough movies as "Missing" with the equal talent.

Rarely, if ever, shown on TV. I don't think I've seen it since the '60s.
