I grew up in a dysfunctional household with my father. He was depressed and beat me to the ground weekly if not daily(for absolutely no reason). I went to my high school counselor, even showed them bruises, and they did nothing. What I'm getting at is kids are nearly helpless. I couldn't get out until I was 18. And you are exactly right, without the tough skin kids are going to "off" themselves. Luckily I got through it. But there needs to be more people like you in this world man..

I agree, dude. There should be some kinda system that takes care of all the people making problems. I remember back in the days people beating someone just because he is skinny or the way he talks or he looks. And then in high school there was a guy that couldn't take it anymore, he just killed himself. People are not the same, no one needs to grow a thicker skin, people don't do shit about this problem. And when they let it be, it's gonna be there forever.

However, I think the campaign is focused on what's going on in the victim's head and soul. As time moves on, one person can't change the world - but they can change their outlook and that ends suicidal thoughts. It's why I believe gays are great adapters and survivors. Grade school, I was bullied enough that I tried to commit suicide by grade six, and despite how often I had gone to the school authorities, they kept to the story of "There is no bullying at this school." When I kept making noise, instead of solving the issue, they sent me to see a child psychologist and had it blamed on "over-reacting emotionally due to a developmental disorder." This is a problem today, but the problem isn't new. There is no easy fix to this. People aren't going to become more compassionate. Two months from now all these people making the "It gets better" videos won't even care anymore. People see something and get on their high horse and try to think of themselves as the solution when they aren't. Problems like this existed for a long time and its crap that it takes a group of people to kill themselves for anyone to even care.

I am 31 and I went through bullying in high school. I went to the Dean, and the counselor and they did nothing. They only thing that made a difference was when I threatened to transfer schools and sue them. I didn't transfer schools and it was a big mistake. If you can document the bullying activity, the school doing nothing about it and sue the school system. They will continue to blow kids off if it doesn't cost any money.
haha I used to go in all sorts of fights when I was young and I still was one of those kids with the highest grades. But that's how life is, people will come up to you for things like the color of your skin or your tribe (yeah we have shit like that here).

Medal of Honor is Godlike. Haven't tried MP yet, but the campaign is INSANE. My fav campaign of all time was BFBC2's campaign, but I think that Medal of Honor might just beat it.

Good Work DigitalSoul. This needed to be said. Grade school, I was bullied enough that I tried to commit suicide by grade six, and despite how often I had gone to the school authorities, they kept to the story of "There is no bullying at this school." When I kept making noise, instead of solving the issue, they sent me to see a child psychologist and had it blamed on "over-reacting emotionally due to a developmental disorder." Hard truth: it doesn't get better for everybody

This is a problem today, but the problem isn't new. There is no easy fix to this. People aren't going to become more compassionate. Two months from now all these people making the "It gets better" videos won't even care anymore. People see something and get on their high horse and try to think of themselves as the solution when they aren't. Problems like this existed for a long time and its crap that it takes a group of people to kill themselves for anyone to even care.

I tried to kill myself at 17 not because I was bullied but because I was GAY......and the world told me that wasnt ok.

You can't tell someone it's going to get better if they get help and then they go to get it and they get ignored or things get worse, sooner or later people have enough and they go inward and we lose them or they go outward and we end up with shootings and then everyone acts all shocked like they never saw it coming or refuses to take responsibility for the role they played in it. It makes me mad. The whole idea of "it's not my job" has got to stop.

I am 31 and I went through bullying in high school. I went to the Dean, and the counselor and they did nothing. They only thing that made a difference was when I threatened to transfer schools and sue them. I didn't transfer schools and it was a big mistake. If you can document the bullying activity, the school doing nothing about it and sue the school system. They will continue to blow kids off if it doesn't cost any money.

haha I used to go in all sorts of fights when I was young and I still was one of those kids with the highest grades. But that's how life is, people will come up to you for things like the color of your skin or your tribe (yeah we have shit like that here).
People must learn to fight back and stick together. You might get hurt (sometimes a lot) but that's the only way to stop 'em. Well, unless you're the one doing the bullying lol

I think Michael Jackson fits in perfectly in this video. Think about it. He got bullied ALL his life. As a kid by his father, as an adult by the media, which ultimatly led to his downfall and death. A person can take only so much, before they give in to the pressure. The problem is, that ppl in general, only care about themselfes, instead of lending a helping hand. They usually bully via facebook, they did it to this kid in my class, Sebastian. I told the teachers and they banned facebook from school. Everyone got mad and accused everyone for telling the teacher, it was me, and they don't know, I'm happy. Cause now Sebastian's life won't be ruined like mine was :)

i had a good principle when i was very young in like grade 3 iv never been a very poblicly loud person and dint want to fight but this guy was a real ass hole and would beat me up all the time so the teacher had a talk with me and he said this kid isnt giong to stop until you hurt him so bad he will carry your mark for the rest of his life
so we faught the next day well not relly he said he wanted to fight but i just turned him around and broke his nose

Medal of Honor is Godlike. Haven't tried MP yet, but the campaign is INSANE. My fav campaign of all time was BFBC2's campaign, but I think that Medal of Honor might just beat it.
