How about we let all employers make employees volunteer for the hired assignment, because the employee should just love their job abd do it for free. It's funny how most fire fighters are volunteer and you never hear them complain about their job, most people do this job because they truly love what they do and want to help their community. The rookie year is to prepare you for the department and to see if you fit in a brotherhood where your life depends on the person next to you. Bringing doughnuts or showing up early is a small price to pay to have the best job in the world. I wonder if he wants to be payed to help out at a burn camp also.

For those who don't know, and what Jarrod fails to mention in this interview is that he was fired for cheating and then lying about cheating, not for blowing the whistle. That's right, he cheated on his 12 month exam, and after he was confronted and given the opportunity to confess, he decided to blame his crew and other rookies, instead of taking responsibility and probably keeping his job. This is the "different issue" he mentions at 8:50. Good luck ever being a FF again. Good riddance.
