the 80s was the best decade for eurovision contest.the show had talented singers great songs and it wasnt as fixed and staged as it is nowdays and it was not about politics .this contest of 81 brings memories and i wish i relived those years.

One of the best Irish entries, at least before their all conquering mid 90s period. This is one occasion where the orchestra worked wonders, the studio version is really slapdash and heavy-handed faux-disco, but this is the real thing!

A great song, very much a departure from Ireland's usual ballads. An experimental, poppy and catchy entry, imaginative in every sense (lyrics, outfits). One of my favourite Irish entries; this proves they can deliver strong uptempo songs. And long live the moral; it's you who makes your life!

It was possibly an expression of ambivalence(LOL!)The song certainly wasnt a bad effort, cirpy & catchy, far from our worst, but not our best either. As for the message - hardly serious & a bit too existentialist for me.
