PNY is a good brand. i got my graphics card from them. and it works perfectly. And did you know that i somehow always get stuff at the wrong time. i got a canon powershot sd790 IS. it is 10 megapixels, and i bought it before christmas. then canon released new cameras after christmas. i disposed of my box. it still is a good camera. not that outdated. it just doesn't have a digic 4 processor. only a digic 3. you can use digital zoom to zoom up to 16. then hold the shutter button halfway to focus

Re. those annoying thick plastic packages that are really hard to open (i.e., SD cards off the rack): I think those packages are intended as an anti-shoplifting measure.

They won't fit it a pocket, even though the product contained within would, and if someone tried to open it up in-store, they'd attract a lot of attention.

Gotta be a better way, though.

I work at the worlds largest electronics retailer and have cut myself trying to open packaging MANY times. It is absolutely an anti theft feature designed and agreed by the manufactures for the retailers. Ever wonder why the size of packages for similar products are the same? I just personally hate all the extra plastic waste.

good choice, I actually considered that one when I first started looking, but I wasn't a fan of the idea of the flash popping up every time I powered the camera on... 12x optical zoom is definitely a plus, though!

Good to see a new video, dude. Regarding the all-plastic casing, keep in mind that the old/$999 MacBooks had an all-plastic casing! Good luck with the higher quality videos, too. That one's an HD camera, but I never expected to get such good video quality out of my SD Mino, and Canon's camera are usually stellar (you would know haha), so the quality should be excellent.

thanks man, I'm looking forward to being able to film everything in better quality, even though I'm still pretty satisfied with the quality of my old PowerShot... and about Mother's Day, I'm thinking I'm gonna take her to Cracker Barrel for breakfast :) (really can't go wrong with that place, plus she's not big on getting stuff).
