the video was amazing all those tributes.. monroe, bonnie and clyde, rudolf valentino, wizard of oz, marlon brando in the wild ones. classic pop single too.
I think , that if you bothered to look properly, its cheryl who plays the part of maralyn in the white dress, after all , the camera never lies,, does it???
I used to think Jay Aston was the most fabulous female on the planet! I always thought that there was something wrong with them though and I've just twigged what it is. They're all blonde. I just can't relate.
My god I was ten. Still quite catchy though. Takes me back to playing tapes (cassettes for the uninitiated!) on my sister's tape player. Pop was fun in those days!
My camera never lies. It cost a fair bit but it's the only honest thing in my life. It shows up all my faults. It shows the lines around my fake smile.
@nwlman Mike sang the lead on Now Those Days Are Gone, no 8 in '82. On the Bucks Fizz Story dvd, he says the record company listened to their Are You Ready album, and applauded this track, which initially Mike wasn't keen on, he wanted the lead on Love Dies Hard instead - "you should've seen Bobby's face!" he says. On lots of tracks, the guys vocals are blended together. They weren't happy with Bobby being given so many leads.
@nwlman Now that Mike and the girls have reformed as The Original Bucks Fizz, the leads are shared between them, e.g. Cheryl sings lead on their reworked Jazz version of I Hear Talk. I think general opinion amongst fans was that Bobby and Jay were the more serious singers, whereas Mike and Cheryl were more fun. Their 30th anniversary album Up Until Now has just been released.
Hit #1 on the UK pop chart for 1 weeks on April 17, 1982

May I recommend the book 'A Concise Guide To Eighties' Music' by Karl Vorderman. The author is a big fan of this track.

Cheryl Baker has never looked hotter!

@ZoahLord The throes of time have not been good to her. Quite the opposite in Jay Aston's case...

Steps kind of ripped off this vid for their Say You'll Be Mine single. My camera never lies, so let's go in a dark room and see what develops lol!

This music video is very strange. But I like strange. It's a good sort of strange, too.

Buck's fizz were my favourite 1980's band. The British Abba!

@stellarartwars07 Abba have claimed numerous times that they were inspired by Brotherhood Of Man. Oh the irony...

Did Mike Nolan ever sing lead on anything or was Bobby the better vocalist, certainly Bobby and Jay were the coolest thats for sure.
