Dattebayo doesnt mean anything in japanese, it doesnt translate. Believe it just happened to match the lip movements and seemed to capture the spirit of dattebayo. Honestly I think the dub naruto voice is fairly faithful to the original. They're both equally annoying and brain damaged.

theres nothing wrong with dubs at all. i understand some of you would rather listen to the japanese version then read the subs, but dubs were made BECAUSE it was ment to be a childrens show in the usa so subs of curse words and such was HIGHLY unwanted. not only for that reason but also because no one really wanted to spend most of their time looking at the bottom ofthe screen just to read whats all being said rather then see whats going on.

Now at Shippuden episode 101 I need to listen to the original audio. I agree it's better, but sometimes (not as many times as a year ago when I started watching Naruto) I need to pause the screen. But ectualy, if you watch it with subs, you'll read much faster after a few episodes. But I there are people who are realy bad at reading, so they have to.

Plus i have to say, though funmation are the best, hands down, all of them are doing great with delivering the japanese mentality and emotions into our language. Its not easy, and definately you have to appreciate that. GERMAN ANIME DUBS are way more horrible than english ones , so brace yourself and enjoy it :-)

Guys do not complain about the dub! You dont even have a clue, what a great work the english voice actors did! I am half german ( living there right now too ) , but i am watching every single anime in either english or japanese with english dubs. And because im able to compare all of em ( doesnt matter if its dragonball , one piece or naruto ) i can tell that the american dubbers are doing great work afterall, BELIEVE IT!
