@echo962 Given the context, I think it's a play on the Biblical angel Gabriel...red-headed being the oxymoron. Thus, a red-headed angel is like a "devil in disguise". At least, that's how I interpret it.

I love this song, probably my fav after listening to cake for over a decade.
P.S. These guys put on the best concert. The people that go to their shows are the greatest too, such a good atmosphere.
