i remember starting secondary school and we all had to fill in a questionnaire thingy about ourselves in our form group and one of the questions was favourite song. all my mates were putting things by the sex pistols or the dead kennedys and i put this down. still happy with my choice even though i did get loads of stick.
Alenhug: They lived in your street! What were they like, partic' Kathy as like most she was & is the 1 I liked. This was their biggest U.K hit making number 3.
I've been in love with toothy Anne (the one in red) since 1977,but she broke my heart by marrying the bass player, having kids and moving to Souh Africa.I have written her a song to tempt her back.It goes like this,"Oh Toothy Anne,I'm beset by strife,I need you to be the Love Of My Life,A Rose Had To Die when you said goodbye, what am I to do ? I am not one of the Chosen Few,it has to be said,I'm not the one you Wanted, help me save my wretched soul by putting me on your Love Patrol.
We used to offer the girls free drinks down the pub if they would change the line at 1.06 to 'swallow everytime' and sing it out loud. Some of them did, if you know what I mean.
awesome i have spent all night browseing you vids, looking back im so glad i am not a teenager with todays music ...this is the best channel on you tube
What a laugh seeing this after all these years! Yep, they did make a wise move promoting the girls to lead vocals. I think the big claim to fame of this song was that it sold more copies than Abba's Voulez Vous released the same year - well at least according to Look In mazagine!
peter7409 step back and take a look in the mirror ,not a pretty sight?you didnt have to be good looking and flashing you tits to sell music back then and yes they must have been good as this was not the only song that got into the charts!
who the fuck is this band. cant believe how bad they are, did they have learning difficulties. absolute shite. how they got a record contract , oh i get it i do know. fuck me they are a ugly bunch .
love the song, shame about the year that this came out, 197 fucking9. if there was a year that I fucking well hated it was this one. I moved from Carmarthen in West Wales when I was young & it is a year I would rather forget.
One word to discribe this, "FAB-U-LOUS"!!!! 70's UK euro-disco pop at it's finest!! I have the 7" single on Epic records, what a treat, Cheers, Gary in PA USA.
Did you see the EMI-2001 Television Camera at 02:20 and 02:32 in this video
The BBC bought them when they went to Colour in the Late 1960,s and they used the EMI-2001 Camera Right up until July 1991
They were SO good, I know the film looks washed out BUT this is only because the film oxidises with age, HONESTLY the film quality these cameras produced was 100% first class, And for YEARS could not be beaten.
@womba68, I think it is cooler to buck the trend, even if the trend is cool.
