  • I'm pretty sure this is from 37-38 period. Nevertheless, great song. Love the artwork too. Perfect.

  • this music helps me with my homework and i love it :D

  • I totally regret liking this kind of music because this game :'( ... really ...

  • @MCToniYo what... why would you regret it?

  • I'm 14, played bioshock, and this song is on my ipod. COME AT ME BRO

  • @sonikku70 Whoa.... Are you me?

  • 1946 - my God - this music sounds like nothing bad has ever happened or could ever happen, let alone two World Wars.

  • To anyone saying its kinda sad that people are only learning these things because of a video game, I must say that at least they ARE learning about them (and gaming is a wonderful media to bring it back in, it reaches a wide variety of people of all ages!)! It is sad however that this type of artistry is being forgotten by more and more as time goes on. Much more feeling in music then.

  • The only person that I know that can make 2 fingers sound like ten! Master Reinhardt.... :-)

  • ty cole

  • my father played violin. he played in a quintet called the foxhole 5. they covered a lot of django's music. i too grew up with django every where...on a record or my dad pulling off one of stephane's riffs.

  • Thank you coleorum :-)

  • Love the pictures of France, thank you.

  • for my mommy

  • HE'S WAY OF PUTTING DOWN MUSIC ONTO THE GUIT IS UNIQUE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • A big thanks to Django and 2K Games for bringing me into this kind of music genre.

  • There is a 5 CD set of pre-war original recordings and a 7 CD set of post war original recordings. +-$20.00 on the net. One of the bargains of listening pleasure.

  • Thanks To Bioshock I Adore This Music Genre!!!

  • It's actually sort of funny. I found this music just searching through the internet so long ago, and through reading the comments found that the music was in Bioshock, which I played a long time ago.

  • King Django

  • As soon as you can associate this with Bioshock, you love the song. If you stopped killing stuff and just looked around while hearing this music, you can picture what Rapture was like before the civil war. And you want to be apart of it.

  • i need the slower version of this song

  • Delightful. Simply.

  • kinda funny and kinda sad that everyone only knows these songs, because of a game :D

    ps: I LOVE BIOSHOCK

  • I've been listening to the music of the 20's, 30's and 40's since I was a child, but had never been introduced to the great music of Django till I played Bioshock. Thanks to them, I can't stop listening to him. I have even got two DECCA records with some of his recordings. Amazing guitarist, I'm glad programmers for these games are putting this music in their games for us to listen to.

  • @vestner - I just discovered Django here today. I've got 425 playlists - 300 artists and each of the past 120 years and Jango just became one of my top 5 favorite artists!! My playlists let you hear the music you like year by year!

Thanks to coleorum for sharing this -your icon says you're a big Django fan!!

  • @danielyarza

Each age has it's primary forms of media. Video games are a major media form of our era. I see nothing sad about this, especially considering that Bioshock is one game that demonstrates that video games can be an art form.

  • @danielyarza My friend its not sad at all! =D

The music has reached the new generation at last!

  • @danielyarza I discovered Django and so many other brilliant artists, country, blues, jazz and Rock nRoll thru the music of Brian Setzer. He name dropped all these greats all the time and incorporated thier music into his recordings and live shows. There is so much great music out there but its totally missed by most people.

  • @danielyarza Haha--Yea It's only cuz of FallOut and BioShock that I realized my love for this style of music ;D

  • you can buy his cd its on his best hits 2 cd set i found it at borders

  • Im so glad Bioshock got me into this music

  • seriously me to i was already into this kind of music but Bioshock deepened me into it more! ^_^

  • Omg I have listened o most of the postngs of Django's and htis is simply mind blowing thanks for posting

  • i am looking far and wide for the bioshock version of this. Cant seem to find it though...

  • I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure this is the Bioshock version, just that version heard in Bioshock is cropped for time.

  • I have the bioshock version, its not as quick as this one.

  • wow this is in bioshock and this is a trully magical tune

  • atmospheric song

  • My father was an absolute Django fan who collected many of his records. As a child the sound of his guitar and Stephane's violin often filled the house. This track was one of my father's favourites which hasn't found its way on to YouTube (at least, I could never find it!) So here it is....another example of the amazing skills of these musicians.

  • @coleorum The images work beautifully with this fabulous music - thanks so much for posting it.
