This is actually footage from the 1955 film, Bud Abbott & Lou Costello Meet The Keystone Kops. That film is pretty good, especially the full version of this chase scene.
Castle Films [United World Films, Inc.] did a "land office" business selling excerpts from Bud & Lou's movies to "home movie" audiences on 16mm and 8mm formats (including those released with sound), from the '40s right through the late '70s. Yes, '8mm', this was, as the title stated, excerpts from "Abbott & Costello Meet the Keystone Kops", their next-to-last Universal feature.
"Wasn't the gag of the motorcycle in the trench lifted from another movie?? (Maybe another Universal film, like W. C. Fields?)"
That was A&C's "In Society" (1944) which lifted footage from Fields' "Never give a sucker an even break (1941); this clip is from A&C meet the Keystone Kops (1955)
We do a video frame by frame capture straight to computer.
I'm afraid I don't know much about the film itself. But I do believe this was part of the full featured movie Abbott and Costello Meet the Keystone Kops, however I am not sure.
Lol...Lotta memories with this cut, I had this same 8mm movie when I was a kid...What a treat every Sunday setting up the screen and our Belle & Howell movie projector to watch this classic!
Do you have the original piano music that went with this movie ?
To answer "Jeangrey65" 's question, I bought a great 16mm copy for $8

Thanks! We used to watch this on my Grandma and Grandpa's projector. It's hilarious when you play it backwards. :)

Would it be possible to make these 8mm movies with the sound of an 8mm projector? Just for the full nostalgia. :-)

How did you get the 8mm transferred? Pretty good... no flicker, keystone, etc.
