Funny entry :) I wouldn't do stuff like that in front of inexperienced divers in case they decide to try it. I am all about safety, and being a good rolemodel for my students, but when it's just us pros, we can have a few extra laughs like this :P BTW: love the Buddy Commando BCD :)
the dive guides didnt like it? probably because if you had hurt yourself, then you or your family would have sued. now youll say 'oh i did this a hundred times' and you already tried to excuse it buy stating how you wore the cylinder low. diving is safety. im not too uptight, i just dont want to see ppl hurt. you may get away with it, but what about another diver who wants to impress his buddies.
Not the smartest entry, with its elevated risk of head injury, and certainly one I'd have stopped him from repeating if i had been running the boat, but I have to give him credit for grace and style! Only experts should do this type of thing. For all those muppets out there don't try it, just in case the water is a bit shallower than you expected! See head injury reference above.
If he had a normal BC he could have, but his is fucking weird. It's way too far back for him to hit his head (without first snapping his neck, of course)
Yes I am "actually" a diver. LOL...it's not like the boyancy is controllable above water as much as under/in the water. I just think that the guy was risking hitting the back of his head on the valve.
for one that equipments pretty heavy outta the water, and 2 its kinda stupid considerin you have like size 70 feet when wearing fins, so runnin in them is pretty cool :P
oh yeah like sum1 else said his tank could have rattled him in the head
if you watch the video again from the start you'll see that i've placed the tank extremely low on my back (nearly too low!) to avoid that head smash you refer too. Its the sorta precaution any good stunt man would take!!. The laughter by Lee is the best part for me...

That's pretty cool. Not as cool as jumping off the top deck in "flying squirrel" position, but pretty cool.

How bout the fact that he is using his octo instead of his primary second stage?
bostonfd 2 years ago
@bostonfd The yellow reg in his mouth is his primary, his secondary is secured in an orange ocoto clip on a d-ring. See 0:09
