  • They have lost nothing. Damned good.

  • Love the Shadows, reminds me of my youth, I was a teenager in the sixties.

Brilliant time to be young back then.

  • I'm not the only U25 here loving The Shadows as a God, right?

  • They are the 60s.

  • cliff halls.. always happy!!!

  • SPEECHLESS! I found out about this group about 3 months ago. I can't stop listen to The Shadows. I'd say... Hank is a miracle. Bruce does a great job as well.

  • The 60's were built round the Shadows

  • I fucking love their dancing

  • -There´s only ONE Hanh Marvin!

  • He dosen't miss a note!

  • i think hank marvin is far superior to eric crapton.

bloody greet been to many of there concertd

  • @oddball2036 sorry man but NO NO NO.....you clearly dont understand skills i think...Hank is ok but for sure no Clapton at all...come on man....Oh and yeas i like the shoddows to!!!

  • @aponcapone clapton was lucky enough like knopler to see and hear hank playing the guitar,a lot of his styles have influenced the greats who came later. So no one can say one is better than the other. They are all good players who respect each other.

  • no one will ever equal the shadows.i remember them well when they first started they were a sensation over night.record companies couldnt keep up with demand.shops were sold out ,even just 2 hours after a delivery.im 71 now and still enjoy listening to them.thans for bringing these memories backto us.

  • awesome music

  • The Shadows,Brilliant.Nothing more to add.

  • The Best !!

  • BRILLIANT.THANK YOU FOR SHARING.

  • Modern aint always best. This is poor, poor, poor, and it is due to the lacklustre sound they are pushing out here, and have been since the 80s. After having said that, more recently they have put some of the tub thumping blood and guts back in, and are once again better for it. But the 80s Shads were plagued with this sanitised high production.

  • such a nice guitar player

  • It's a bit lightweight cabaret. Needs more spunk (so to speak).

  • Magic Sirpeter, thanks sooo much :-)

  • Apparently this song has replaced waterboarding as the CIA's newest form of torture technique........Confessions have risen by 4000 %

One military commander even suggested the war might be coming to an end.

  • Hank is platine king.

    Salutation from Poland

    Pool.

  • My father loves this song!

  • Treasure as we know, enamoured in Stone.. The Shadows.

  • I loved the Shadows, Bravo mates.

  • Number one the day I was born 25th Jan1963. Nothing against the Shadows but there a more memorable hits from 1963 unfortunately for me

  • El Fantastico amundo el brilo suro.

    5 Stars!!!!!

  • All there music is timeless

  • Loving It !!

  • Timeless music and a pure classic act. The Shads are the best instrumental group ever and really nice guys

  • I am just 60 years old, and I was brought up with the Shadows.

Time less music played by Hank Marvin, and he does not look any different now than he did in the early 1960's

  • Though it is not Jimi Hendrix - it is still alright :-))

  • Cojonudos, dan ganas de disparar al pimero que se ponga por delante

  • @judioavaro lol

  • that's what I call true music. without heavy distortion or overdrive guitars or powerful voices. humans should keep quiet more often when making music!

  • that's my thoughts exactly!!

  • Just saw them performing on Helsinki Arena with Cliff Richard. Was so awesome! Luv Shadows <3

  • no one will ever be as good they are and never will be

  • maestro

  • shadows simply the best

  • I wish I could play like Hank Marvin. What a legend.

  • My school sports days in South Africa, Durban, Chatsworth would never be complete without a Shadows tune, even Birthdays, Xmas, New Years, Concerts in the streets - Roads 514 & 512

    Shadows we Luuuuuv Yaaaaa

    Play On!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I truly love this number by The Shadows

  • great song, great tone on the guitar, the moynihan brothers band do a great version of this and the foot tapper

  • Amazing!

The Shadows is best instrumental band ever..

  • Beautiful !!

  • Einfach Klasse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Brill! 10 out of 10!

  • Thanks for sharing this video and bringing back many happy memories

  • It is a tune to which you may listen when.

    5★

  • THEY ARE STILL THE BEST INSTRUMENTAL GROUP AROUND....

    i JUST LOVE THEM....

    LEE in Australia

  • @vw68autobug yes ,but you should also consider the Ventures from the US

  • The Shadows , the Best

  • liked the shads who were originally the Drifters. The American Drifters caused the name change. doesnt sound right Shadows a better name.

  • Hank is the first person to ever have a fender in the uk in 1959

  • This is what "Gold" means..SHADOWS!!!!!!

  • LEGENDS.THANK YOU FOR SHARING

  • The Shadows are great, but they were not the first. Duane Eddy (Rebel Rouser) and Johnny & The Hurricanes (Red River Rock) played instrumentals before which became very popular around the world. Modern rock guitar instrumentals have mostly defizits in melody and song character. But I love Carlos Santana.

  • Good guitar !!!

  • The Shads are the best in the world! The Ventures are good, but the Shads are in a class of their own....Hank is the Master of the Strat guitar! Rock on!

  • The shadows were the Cliff richards backing group.. Cliff Richards and the shadows..

Cliff Left the group and most people thought that was the end of the shadows...

but Hank Marvin had better ideas..

they are probably the only Non Singing group to have made it in the world..

Their music is unreal - written and played by Them...

    LEE

  • I agree with most of what you say but the Shads early hits were written by Gerry Lorden who I believe was a London Bus Driver as well !!!

  • thanks for that...

    Lee

  • I think we are of one mind about the Shads, one more thing if anyone else on the planet did that footwork they would look corny and old hat but The Shads make it look super cool

    Kevin

  • ive not heard a better tune than this, surely im dancing to it with my lady whenever i marry ;-)

    Garry

    Chandigarh, India

  • It is played different as usual and that's good. I also love(d) the Petula Clarc version

Oh yepe yep yep....oh yep yep yep....very cool

    Ivan.

  • @goodwoods007 kathy kirby did a nice version too

  • sirpeter1946 thank you for the uploads, The Shadows and Ventures are a big hit in our country even today they are still played and always will be the favorite instrumentalists

  • LEGENDS.

  • sorry i cant see a comparison the shads have got a unique sound that no one else can do and get right...if you played lots of diff sounds to most shads fans...they would pick out the shads sounds every time..cant explain why but its unique

  • before the SHADS there were nothing like them...as far as i`m concerned there nothing like them now either...AWESOME..

  • I like The Shadows a lot but don't forget The Ventures. I am not saying that the latter are better - just that there is good reason to listen to both of these groups which overlap in some respects.

  • goed gespeeld. maaaaaar het echte vette guluid dat mis ik toch welmvg jan

  • I Play the Shadows song - mainly Rhythm - But This is My Fav SOng out of all

  • Petula Clark cannot hold a candle to Kathy Kirbys vocal version of this Pet goes through the motions Kathy sings it wiyh heart

  • if your luck to have the shadows live in japan in 1969 dance on is on that

  • One of the greatest tunes and also by PETULA CLARK. I was crazy of it ans was 14...

    Time is gone

    IVAN

  • Yes, Petula dos the best vocal version of this, espeially in French (Je me sens bien aupres de toi).

  • Hank is king.

  • legend*

  • hes the daniel o donnell of guitar

  • yes Sir Peter i do have most of their cd's and videos , but i can't find the live cd from this concert and the song in an MP3 version of True Love Ways that i really like .

i was hoping to show this girl who i feel strong for as she loves this type of music and i could win her heart.

  • Sir Peter , do you know of any MP3's of the songs from this actual live concert??

i am after the songs as i play them alot on guitar and have since being introduced to shadows music when i was little.

  • well exept 1 song who was cancelled from YT all are here to listen to and if u want DL them,so go ahead

i am happy that there are so many who share their music

but maybe u decide to buy there cd or dvd,so u support,as most of us have and will? ;)

  • most of their video with this red guitars,of course they are fender, rite?

  • yes but sometimes they used Burns

  • @sirpeter1946 I have 3 Burns Cobras, and they are great guitars they look like strats but the pickups are cleaner and sharper. I also have strats and the sound is different, but you can set both up to make great Shadows music. But i will never be as good as Hank and the Shadows, i feel in love with their music 20 years ago and then found Mike Oldfield who is an amazing guitarist, who started influenced by Hank, amazing

  • @carroj9 Hank uses Strats, but he has custom made pickups installed, instead of the standard ones.

  • @Spankypenguin1 Actually for a long time in the 60's they used Burns with Burns pickups. He also played Burns in recent tours along with his Strat which is fitted with Kinman noiseless pickups.

  • Adi I've read this ''fiesta red'' Fender Stratocaster was the first shipped in u.k. for Hank. This guitar is a priceless piece of rock history.

  • This is one of their ***** -ratings!

  • I love their dancing at every live show! :D

  • I'm surprised the Shads weren't more successful in the US, their style is very C+W.

  • Love "Shadows Walk" :-)

  • The Sound of the Shadows has been comming along with me since I was 14 years old. I am now 58 and I will love to listen to them until the last day of my life.

    The SHADOWS...FOREVER!!

  • I remember playing this through the amp in an old valve radio

    in the 60s .

  • I remember trying to do it with 2 old valve radios and getting 240V through my strings - Ouch!

  • Me again - I wonder how many miles they've done with that famous 'Shadows Walk' over the years! LOL The Shadows! - The best (certainly at what they do, anyway!). :-)

  • o miles, every step forward they step back..love them

  • I love The Shadows and i know they love me

  • Hank now lives in Perth, Western Australia

    with his Family.

  • That has to be one of the most 'with it' bass lines on any song! :-)

  • god bless you sirpeter. great stuff.know anywhere i can download this concert?

  • all of them are still alive and well, check out the dvd

    the shadows final tour.

    excellent for collectors.

  • All the musician still alive or not?

    Just asking...

  • yes in 2004 they absolved their Final tour in more then 40 cities all over europe

  • Its the only shadow we have. There will not be another.

  • dont get so sad

there are so many talented young peoples and if i see ,who commenced my songs,i can see, that also young fans still love the kind of music, shadows performing

  • come to my group and see a lot more

all are invited if u like the gitarmusic ;)
