it isnt the ringtone itself thats scary its pretty much saying "your dead" when your phone makes that ring tone you hear yourself during your last moments then you die depending on when the phone call was made (usually 1 day in the future) then you die a horrific death

To add my thoughts to the debate over which version is better (the American or the Japanese), I've only seen the American version so far (looking forward to the Japanese soon), and to me this little tune is scary enough. The "generic" comment I read is certainly true, but I think that's one of its good aspects. It's very plain, simple; also it's very childish and innocent-sounding, and it gave me a few goosebumps. >_>
