Sorry I don't know the American high school system. Why won't they let you in? Why can't you buy a ticket on the day? Even if you didn't buy one before hand, what's the big deal with letting someone in?
dont worry about it. I went to Rogers' prom in '85...took a swedish exchange student. We went to Sullivans in SW MO for dinner. I had shrimp and at about 1am I boke out in hives (from the shrimp) I fell asleep for an hour at the St Mary's Hospital after I got a couple shots. I went back to the arsenal (where they used to hold RHS proms) and the band was still playing (they played till 5am -- but I still can't eat shrimp, though:) And yes, I was completely embarrassed. You will get over it:)
