  • only one alto seems to know the notes. And the soprano ones make me want to die.

  • There is one really annoying alto in the bunch with terrible vowels and a terrible nasally tone. Actually, I think everyone has terrible vowels, but that girl is like nails on a chalkboard. Usually it's a soprano that does that....odd.

  • love this!, the soprano should pull back, and there should be more bass, other than that, MARVELLOUS!

  • wait, i lied, i did hear the sopranos's but when i could hear them, were not awesome. very catrunover by a freight train sounding. sorry.

  • i like it, but it could be way better. idk what verion you guys are using, but if you are using the WB music, arranged my Andrea S. klouse (its black with an 8 pointed star on the front) you need to pay closer attention to the dynamics. also, you have WAY to many alto's. pick the best and boot the rest or get more of everyone else. i could barely hear the soprano's. dont give up though! im sure that if you had another day or so to practice, it would have been better :)

  • wtf is up with the girl who sings every word like :O :O :O close ur mouth. i heard someone come in early too. this song has to be perfect. thumbs down, sorry.

  • My choir sang this song on a trip to Germany and we had to sing it outside of a Nazi concentration camps... thats about the hardest thing I have done. We were all crying.

  • Ouch. I felt at times I was being screamed at. Ladies, and the lonely tenor, this is a PRAYER. I dont think you'd shout your bed time prayers. The high G was so sharp the key changed.

  • i think all the vocal majors in america have commented this video lol

  • the parts are not well blended and in the begining it seemed like a tennor was just a little off

  • SHARP sopranos! This song is better kept to a Chorale type of group- not a good song for a show choir. But for a show choir- it isn't bad.

  • need to have taller vowels, and already mentioned better mix of s and a

  • the men sound great alone.... when the women come in it doesn't sound great

  • when your ladies come in, they need to creep in. your men do a fabulous job of coming in soft at the beginning and the ladies need to mirror that.

  • we didn't perform it all for the quality you fools, it was for the message, so get over yourselves and be respectful

  • I understand your feelings, but if this is being performed for competition, the judges are going to criticize your group for your faults, not be immediately turned by the message of the song.

    Just sayin'.

  • it was for the winter concert, so therefore it wasnt as good as we could have gotten it, and, again, it was for the message more than trying to sing pretty

  • sopranos and altos are not blended at all.. :/

  • Vowels are terrible. My conductor needs to take a vacation and go visit them!

  • this song is always better as all guys. :/ i'm a girl but the guys just have a better version.

  • we are singing this song at our school, the alabama school of fine arts, the melody is in the tenor in the beginning and in the alto so the sopranos' really need to back off.

  • im going to the U.K choir festival im gonna sing with the honors choir, i love this song, its very touching. Also listen to "Omnia Sol" we did that one last year. But still very beautiful

  • My choir also sang this song a capella last year. The song is so powerfull I actually ended up crying. It's such a beautiful song.

  • This song was made for the MEN, the original copy was writen TTBB

I was one of the first Choirs to sing this, back in 1996 50 men, plz listen and tell me what you think

  • 1st sopranos need to come out more as a group

  • take out your "r's" and practice singing your vowels with only changing the shape of your lips, not the back of your soft palette. But overall very well done.

  • you guys brought back a lot of good memories. thanks for the great song. (the only thing that i didn't like as much about your performance was the females and how loud they were compared to the males.) But good job, still! :)

  • I didn't think the vowels were bad at all :] This choir is really talented, nopt sure about the director though, I feel like it could have been so much better had he kept the original tempo/didn't hold the chorus out it seemed a little too dramatic.

  • humm... a bit to slow and drawn out for me.. but i still love the song!

  • Your vowel suck something terrible.

  • Great it's hard to sing a capella, I know. Aopranos could back off a tad. But other wise great. My choir teacher always says "It's not always about you sopranos"

  • mkay. so. some 1st sop needs to back off, vowels are a bit wide. but i love this song. :]

  • wow looking at this brings back memories of last year..o how much we improved...haha

  • BALANCE ladies...melody is whats important. of course the clusters are as well. but we wanna hear the melody. and i could hardley hear the sop 2's. this piece is supposed to be beautiful and intimate.

powerful doesnt always mean loud and forceful.

  • omg who is that 1st saprano! ugh way to loud

  • wow intonation and wide vowels not the best song for you guys. And show choirs dance so far i havent seen you dance

  • i just LOVED the intro by that person in the beginning &hearts

  • whoa...hmm. Nice effort. Listen to my choir perform this at the D-day beaches of Normandy: youtube dot com/watch?v=kXVFJqzEEds

  • Some Soprano 1 made my ears bleed.

  • Beautiful! I felt the emotion you all had made me cry. Touching!

  • it was good begining until the ladies came in. They attacked it. That's when I turned it off.

  • Yeah...me too. The altos were blasting it and singing wide vowels and it didn't have a whole lot of feeling from the ladies in general. The sopranos were being a bit...shrieky. If that's a word. As if they were straining to reach their notes.

  • my choir sang this song last year and i think that this peice is faster than what we did....it just must be taste....i think that the sopranos were sticking a little bit out of the fabric but good job

  • i love this song, but perhaps its a bit to slow here

  • Yeah .. I'll have to check out the other videos .. this one just didn't fit you guys.

  • Generally enjoyable, Everone thinks the ballance is off i think the basses just need to come out more , I think the strong alto is doing a nice job and has the right dynamics and kudos to sop 1 beautiful harmonies, My group did a king singes piece this year and they have hard intonations and you guys pretty much tackled it!!! good job

  • you guys are good, but BALANCE!!!!!! the girls are WAY TOO LOUD!!!! Its like they were screaming the song, remember, ff doesnt mean SCREAM it, it just meas make it really energetic

  • one of the altos is too loud!!! lol...omg! i member when my choir sang this song....about more than half of us didnt know the words...! we were way lame! you guys did good tho =)

  • the guys sound good when you can hear them the women are drowning them out they sound good as well but they need to back down and let the guys be heard more

  • so yeah. you guys were quite good. just one thing...the females in the choir need to stop drowning the guys out. women are not the only ones who can sing...But other than that, it was a good version. I'm glad to see someone else performing it as a four-part piece. i think it makes the piece just so much better. kudos.

  • o btw, were a show choir first and a chamber choir second, check out some of our dancing pieces and then talke to me. one other thing, we just placed first out of about 30 choirs competing in virginia beach, so bite me

    and who says "hella" anyway

  • to the person knocking us, y the hell do u have to do that crap!

u cant just say we did a good job and be done with it, no u have to say u were better than us, thats nice, that shows really good character on your part!

this is y us kids from south windsor r a better group

cuz we dont go around searching for videos to put them down and tell them how much better we r than them.

  • watch out for the dynamic at the beginning where the women kicks in. especially altos, it was supposed to be piano not mezzo piano. btw, i loved the men at the beginning, really soft and really touching. Overall alto really needs to back down, and keep a better balance with other voice section; also do more lifting of the soft pallets and have more vertical space, altos' tone quality is probably the worst out of all.

    Nice interpretations though!

  • I agree. The selected Jefferson Chamber Choir at my high school performed this last year. They are an all acapella choir and the balance is unbelievable. They always place 1st in competitions because of their balance and quality of tone and they aren't that big either. Although, I would have to say that you guys do a good job.

  • SOUTH WINDSOR! Niccee video!

  • if u want to check out my version of prayer of the children type in prayer of the children and were like maybe 8-9 down we have the music notes behind us thanks and i hope to hear from u about our version

  • i agree with loseronald me and some friends are doing this song for a solo ensamble this weekend and we have come to kno this piece it wasnt meant for a competition about who is better seriously grow up and to the performers nice job

  • and we're only in middle school

  • Yeah, ok.

  • my school sang it hella betta then you fags

  • Hello from North Haven, CT not-so-show-choir. You kick our proverbial ass. That is all. xD

  • Bravo! Way to go South Windsor!
