Great looking and sounding Bonneville. Like what you did with the pipes and side covers. I've got a '72 BSA and they had pretty much had the same pipes and side covers......a little weak in the styling.
They are peashooters for a 68 Triumph. The problem with the '72's like this one is that the stock pipes had a crossover in the front that disrupted the exhaust air creating a horrible uneven flow, not to mention a bad sound.
We switched out the pipes, air filter and also side covers for earlier T120 styling. The only trouble was torching the Kickstart to bend around the new side cover, other than that it wasn't too hard for such a great payoff in looks and sound.
I agree on keeping it as stock as possible. The only main problem with the 72's were that they had the crossover bar between the two exhaust pipes in front of the engine. This created a horrible flow of exhaust which resulted in early breakdown of the piping in that area as well as an off-sounding exhaust tone
ive got peashooters on my 2001 hinkley bonnie, they so cool sound!

Sounds great! What pipes did you put on your Bonnie?

Sweet.
Those are the original colors of my '73 T-140.
I suppose I'll have to put 'er back to stock someday.

It looks like you have a few PRE '72 parts there.

I have a '72 myself, but I kept it pretty stock. I think the retro look isn't too bad for the oil in frame model, though.

Haha The BSA had a little melt down shortly after this video. Next summer it will hopefully be back with a new wire harness
